Pandya's inning was not that special. Imagine Pandya playing an inning like Jadeja did today and India winning the match. You would have focussed more on Pandya's inning than Jadeja's. :inti

Australia toured india this year(full strength) and lost 2-1.
So losing 2-1 with B team is not a bad effort from India.

I thought Gill was first choice over Iyer? And Natarajan ten times better than Saini? This India is much better than your India that showed up day before yesterday. If this is India B then that was India C but problem is both teams were India A with selection issues.

And no one has ever used selection issues as an excuse to bail teams like Pakistan out. We sent Mohammad Irfan to Australia, we must own up to it and blame the selection committee, but at the same time not take away from Australia’s controlled demolition.

Not quite, no telling how this series would have went had India won the tosses..... This Australian team has pretty much the same strength batting in this atch and they are just scraping it because they are under pressure, they should have been like 101-6 wasnt for the 3 dropped catches and the missed run out of Finch.

In reality this is India A minus Rohit Sharma.

Fast bowlers are always rotated so you can’t count Shami, otherwise England playing the Curran brothers is England B and Pakistan playing Hasnain is Pakistan B.

So what you’re watching is India A giving a competitive fight to Australia B.
 
My respect. For Natarajan has just grown immense I just heard on commentary he never held a cricket ball until he was 20 years of age

Defending 304 on a tacky wicket under lights is not the same as bowling first on a patta.

Even Saini would have looked a million dollars. No Gill is not first choice lol. He last played an international game back in early 2019. Yes I agree selection issues should not be used an excuse. Unless ofcourse when India are on the wrong end of it.

Okay so fast bowlers are rotated and that's why we can't count them, then why is aus playing its b team, cummins and starc are also fast bowlers and they will be rotated. :yk
 
It's a dead rubber, it's obvious Australia isn't giving their best.
 
India needs wickets, Australia bats deep. Any batsman playing 20 odd balls and scoring 25 to 30 runs is enough for Australia.

I agree it’s not the same but surely you agree that this Indian team has played much higher quality cricket compared to the previous one? If this isn’t India A, it should be. You’re about to win the match, and that’s commendable even if it’s against a slightly weakened Australia.

Sarcasm brother, was just trying to highlight some double standards present. In truth I think this is more like a slightly weakened Australia A vs a slightly weakened India A. Neither teams can be called a B team as most main players are present.
 
It's interesting how Cricinfo let's it's bias come through the commentary in India matches.
 
India have played pretty well today. The games might have been more competitive if India had batted first in the other ODIs as well.

Maxwell should have been sent in place of Henriques. Moises is such a waste of place. Had they played Short, they could have easily avoided the total change of batting order.

Oh yeah, it's to do with the toss and not the fact that Australia might be taking this game lightly because it's a dead rubber?
 
I actually like Natarajan more than Saini. He creates a very difficult angle whereas Saini is a batsman’s dream in many ways (in ODIs at least, haven’t seen him much in other formats).

This is my first choice Indian team right now:
1. Rohit Sharma
2. Shikhar Dhawan
3. Virat Kohli (c)
4. Shubman Gill
5. KL Rahul (wk)
6. Hardik Pandya
7. Ravindra Jadeja
8. Mohammad Shami
9. Kuldeep Yadav
10. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
11. Jasprit Bumrah

Assuming Bhuvi is unfit I will replace him with Natarajan. Saini doesn’t come anywhere close imo.

I think India should win this comfortably. Called it early on in the match that Australia would collapse chasing but will end up taking it close. I expect Maxwell to put up a little bit of a fight and then get out, leaving Agar and Carey to pick up the pieces which they will be unable to do.
 
Ashton agar might be the most useless "allrounder" Australia has ever fielded. What a harmless batsman!
 
77 from 61 should be easy. Its just that Australia has lost one wicket too many. Carey's runout was extremely stupid.
