India [314/9] defeat Bangladesh [286] by 28 runs to end Bdesh hopes of qualifying for semi-finals

Rofl Shaif and Rubel hit the same to the boundary. Bangladeshi putted slower length bowls in the air for comfortable catches. Credit only goes to them for such stupid shots.
Sure and what happened in Asia cup and the last 10 matches before that?Indian bowling attack is the most complete attack of this tournament.

Half the wickets were given as Eid gifts.... If only a couple of batsmen had played sensibly BD would have won

Just one batsman till the end, I hoped it was Mushfiqur, we would have crossed the line. I don't know why again India always there are some factors works against us and luck never favor us. Tamim missed a dolly of Rohit which changed the complexion of the game totally. Nevertheless loss is always loss at the end and we are out of WC

We lost. Proud of what, possible 8th place finish?

We foght till the end, we didn't loose hopes of winning. Yesterday's match, match against NZ shows it. Even against Australia we didn't surrender . This has become a habit. We are out of WC but this spirit will take us to the next level in future inshaAllah .

Energy, passion, tiger roar.... It will always be like this because you guys will applause even if your team is at 8th place.

People find it insulting when I mention BD as a minnow team. But when these fans do write, "vastly improved team, spirit will take us to the next level".... Here you have admitted to nothing but accepted that you are a minnow. People are just sugar coating the same fact where as I am calling as it is.

My advice. Stop with these spirit, passion. What you guys need is results. Passion means zero if result is always a defeat. This mentality is what minnows have.

A top team doesn't take consolation from a match like yesterday. They will come hard on themselves as to why these key moments gone wrong. But for Bangladesh, no worries for these key moments but more important is, energy, Josh, jazba....and this is the reason why BD is still losing against top teams even after decades

Its an evolutionary process and it does not happen that rapidly, infact it takes generations. What we need to understand that Bangladesh is definitely progressing. At home their record is pretty good in recent years , they will improve further in SENA as they play more. India took decades to get there and even then in 2000s when they had a gun line up, their combinations were not right or they lacked something or the other to consistently perform in SENA countries .

What is impressive is that they know their strengths, they do not hype talent so much that hard work, merit and team spirit takes a back seat. Most importantly they play as a collective unit , complement each other in terms of capabilities and show immense fighting spirit against all odds. What they have done this time is super impressive and if they keep on grooming young players to gradually replace their old guns, they will surely continue to make positive strides.

hate comments like these. makes no sense. if india actually chose their best middle order batsmen from list A domestic leagues instead of 2 grandpa's then they would be invincible too.

if pakistan had an all rounder like stokes or even pandya plus a better middle order batsman like shaking in their team they would be invincible too.

Why. Nothing to hate. It's an observation out of admiration.

Bangladesh's bowling is a massive achillies heel. They've scored 300 over 3 times in this tournament, twice whilst chasing and managed 285 yesterday against the best team in the world, while throwing wickets away.

They are a very dangerous side and that's with mediocre bowling.

If there's better batsman than Indias grandpas out there they should be selected. Why you getting upset. It was an observation. It wasn't an outlandish claim such as 'if they had Glenn McGrath they'd be amazing'... just an honest assessment. Bangladesh are a couple of bowlers short of making a real impact. Deal with it.

Congratulations all Indian PPers, very well played. Wish you all the best for the rest of the tournament. I'll see you all in 2023. I am retiring :moyo

Thank you. Will see you in 2023 when Bangladesh will come back even stronger!

Well right, Bangladesh´s campaign to make it to the semi-final ends here. Feel sad for them but to be very honest, they were a treat to watch. In a tournament which had such a cut-throat format, I don´t think many expected them to beat two teams and then also compete so well in almost all the matches. I just loved watching their batting, especially of their seniors. Some awesome stroke-play to go with some passion to dare to look at big totals with an aim to chase them down. A thing here or there and they could well have won a couple of more matches. Also, they were perhaps unlucky given that their match against Sri Lanka was abandoned due to rain. They´d a great chance that day in my opinion of bagging another win.

Their bowling is a massive concern. Often their bowling has pulled back matches in the death overs, but more often than not the score conceded already by than was big enough for their batsmen to chase. On a slightly slowish track that we had yesterday, anything below 290 would´ve given them a massive chance of going one up on India. Although he bowled really well yesterday, but Mustafizur can blow hot and cold and isn´t the same threat as he was in the first year of his international career. Apart from that, Shakib is the only bowler who has proved to be tough for the opposition (what a player he is, by the way!). So they must address this problem right away.

Congratulations India. Bumrah is class. I see that people are very worried about India´s middle and lower-order batting, and given India´s history since World Cup 2015, the concerns are fully justified. However, here I´d like to make a point: I think things may not look too bad on a surface which stays true throughout the 50 overs (as was the case against Australia where India did end up smashing over 100 runs the last 10 overs). Yesterday´s pitch got just a little slow towards the end. I´m not making excuses for Dhoni´s innings yesterday by the way. Given his ability and the years of experience behind him, he should be more than capable of playing a better innings than what he did mind you.

Or India´s other solution could lie in a low-scoring pitch in the knock-out matches. Such ones bring Dhoni right into the game, certainly his style of batting, and perhaps even Dinesh Karthik to an extent.
