This is Cummins highest test score.
Maybe the Indian bowlers were not trying or the pitch is becoming flat.
I didn’t watch the end so don’t know.

They were a bit relaxed and also tired, but cummins did play many good shots. He has good defense as well. Top order should learn something from him.

The same 270-280 would have been enough to get a draw if Aus had scored this much in first inning.

Also if Aus was down like 4 or 5 wickets in second innings they had a good chance of a draw with the rain looming in.

I don't expect them to be 260/4 in 4th inning here, but 280 runs in first innings was certainly possible. That would have been enough to get a draw. State is not playing one as an opener, but national team wants to play the same person as an opener, idiotic.

Rain has got heavier in the last 2 minutes and the larger covers are coming on! Heart in mouth moment for Indian fans? Can Australia pull off a lucky draw?

India just needs maximum of 10 overs I think

Highly doubt we won’t be able to squeeze that in

New ball will zip around in these conditions. India should be able to wrap it up in a dozen overs

First session looks rained out now.

India deserve a chance to win this match and im sure there will be enough play to give them the opporutnity.

If these two can last for 20 overs it will be gold.

Rains easing off now.

Play to start within 20-30 mins my guess

It’s supposed to pour in the evening. Like proper thunderstorm

Right now it’s just light showers

I mean it’s a joke but it’s true. If Cummins and Lyon had batted at same rate as yesterday and not got out australia would win

Now there’s not enough overs left when play will resume

Cricinfo says clouds are clearing

it would have to rain for lot longer atleast for half day for that to be true ... on the flip side aussie tail can then just concentrate on blocking making it harder for India to take wkts.

I think it's time for lunch now.

If it goes till the end, match will end 30 minutes early today due to 30 minutes extra taken yesterday.

The reports Ive just seen suggest 40-50% chance of rain all day with thunderstorms in the early evening. There might not be any play or it might stop for hours. The morning session is gone, one more session wiped out would give Aus a chance to save the game imo.

I honestly think it will take a couple of overs max

It has happened so many times that on 4th day the lower order gives a heroic performance to take the match to fifth day but in 5th day morning they are rolled over within a few overs

Nah if play happens India win

Also forecast says it’s gonna pour like crazy starting in the evening but noon onwards it should be clear and even sunny

True, I don't think they can take it one full session. Bowlers will be fresh today. Yesterday they are tired in the end. Anyway, play is not starting for another one hour. early lunch at 12:15. I will be happy if Aus bat another 25-30 overs here.

Not sure where you saw, but it shows clear for the rest of the afternoon and even sunshine. In evening, there is some forecast for thunderstorm. We should get full session after lunch.

but they will have to add time to make up for time lost due to rain stoppage right ?

Total number of hours of play remaining minus 30 minutes taken yesterday.

Ideally overs should be added, but we have old rules in cricket and sometime they don't make much sense.

It will definitely rain near end of days play as per forecast so if it goes till there then not good news for india

It was from the Met office but I hope there is play.

BT sport are showing ODI matches from the 80's where India are getting hammered lol.

It's too much, congratulations to India on a good victory. Goodnight /

Aus wasted golden chance to save this test by not batting time. Still possible to get a draw. Rain took out one entire session and last session we have rain. It's going to be hard, but possible.

I was wrong on deducting 30 minutes. They deduct actual number of overs and that is 8 overs bowled yesterday.

We will have 90 overs - overs lost due to rain - 8 overs.

Well everyone knows this is a really poor Aussie team so don’t get the point of it.

I’d actually say it’s a poor team even with Smith and Warner and it’s not a certainty that if they were playing the situation would have been different. Even with them they were regularly collapsing with Smith salvaging some respect.

Rain has stopped and covers are coming off as per cricinfo

I count 3 acts of pure cheating from Aussies....

Steve Waugh grassed a catch, claims it.

Fielder has ball in one hand, and reaches out and holds the boundary boards (boundary boards beingvthe boundary) with the other hand to get himself steady ... doesn’t signal 4... i

Batsman guides the ball off the bat to keeper, stands there and umpire doesn’t give it.

Hard but fair. :)

The rain should take Jadeja out of the game, which should make it easier for these two. However, fully expect India to go 2-1 up.

They sure have. If India thrash them 3-0 in the ODI series, they might fall below Bangladesh lol.

Congrats India!

Clearly the better side of the two teams out on the field!

Back to drawing board for Aussies. 4th Test will be a matter of pride for them now

Called it!!!

Well played India. Despite all this fight, Aus will be very disappointing with performance here.

151 all out and being there for 2 days and taking 7 wickets.

Congrats India on a good win. Over to Sydney! Just a bit bummed Bumrah couldn't get his 10-fer... but he had many over to get it so cant complain.

The series is still on the line for them. 2-1, they can draw and deny India their first overseas win on Australian soil.

That being said, Congrats to all Indian fans! Deserved victory.

India was the better side and crucially, they won the toss. From Australa, only Cummins really showed up. Rest need to pull up their weight.

I hope Sydney is a closer challenge.

Indian team having sly digs at baldy with crediting ranji by both kohli and bumrah.
