This Indian team has the potential to be the greatest test team of all time. What a team.

Hopefully kohli and Co will be able to take their rating points beyond 130, that will be a great achievement.

Height of overhyping

Lets see what this team will do away from home

Here is a test match for all those people who says test cricket is the best... I gave up even before lunch.. what a waste of time..

The problem is not about test cricket its about the way teams played it.SL is one of the boring team nowadays that's why their matches are horrible to watch.Recently concluded SA-SL odi series too was a yawnfest so its not about LOI or test its the way how games has to be played.Back then even in flat decks i would have spend some time watching sanga and mahela bat for hours and murali bowls because all they were intriguing but now their is nothing eyecandy

That's not a new thing. Once we start playing in conditions which suit us we start thinking ourselves as world beaters but always brought down to earth once we go abroad. I saw the same overhyping when we were playing back to back series in India. Some fans thought we are becoming a world class bowling unit.

Probably the first unbiased opinion from an Indian fan and I couldn't agree more.

I still think SL are an average test bowling side in 'home' conditions but below average with the bat. Nonetheless very impressive to put 600 up against any opposition.

Production quality of Sony is very good, they are not showing ad after every over like Star Sports. Very professional, clean and showing some picturesque views in between overs and Galle is a beautiful place. When we play at home it is going to be pain to watch as Star sports is our home broadcaster.

What a joke. South Africa have proved themselves in the past. We have not yet won a series in Australia yet. Stop embarrassing yourself too.

Lol. Can you stop embarrassing yourself? SA winning in AUS is compared with India winning in AUS. Dude, do you know condition is pretty similar in both SA and Aus?

boring match, complete walkover.

A lot of matches with India outside India tend to be pretty boring these days save for a game in Australia where they were about to press the gas to chase a big score.

exactly majority of test cricket is boring. so why waste the year in playing boring cricket which has no viewership?? everyone knew the reault of this test. this test series defy logic tbh.

Nobody watches test cricket, it's all about stats crunching from cricinfo.

But but but Test cricket is the best format and the most interesting format.

Tests can be interesting. But no one has the time to watch a game over 4 days unless they are jobless, retired or if the doctor advised bed rest.

Rain might save Sri Lanka here. Rain forecast for day 4 and day 5

India lead by 496 runs with 8 wickets remaining. Looks like only rain can save Sri Lanka

Mukund out for 81 and it is now stumps on day 3

India 189-3 2nd innings lead by 498 runs with 7 wickets remaining

Big lead, lots of time, pressure off.. perfect conditions for Kohli to thrive in.

haha so true bhai ;p
In 2 years Kohli fans wll say he won the 1st match against SL on his own :p forgetting most of the work was already done in 1st innings posting 600 and getting 300+ runs lead.

. Nothing wrong if he score 100 adding 24 runs to his 76 then declaration. A 100 is a 100 and still 6 sessions to go

no one said its wrong .. well done to him for the 100 but it was not a 'special' effort neither he won the match on his own like his fans portray.

No need to make things up. No one will say that Kohli won the first match on his own.

Apart from you everyone is embarrassing themselves right? Can you please enlighten us about the kind of pitches we received when we toured Australia last time? Are you new to cricket? Comparing South Africa's and Australia's away record with India is a joke. We have yet to win a series in South Africa and Australia whereas both these teams have won series in Indian conditions. Your conditions excuse is pretty dumb tbh.

I hope India scores quickly till lunch and declares, which might set a target of around 600. India should also consider the rain interruption in match and try to finish this game by tomorrow itself. Overnight declaration would be better decision IMO.

Sri Lanka loses their first wicket 22/1, requiring another mammoth 528 runs to win.

Disappointing stuff from Ashwin. It's still a flat pitch, but Ashwin is not doing anything. Just bowling like a machine.

This is the situation where you need a bowler like Kuldeep.

Indian slip catching had taken a nose dive recently. India already dropped 3 catches so far in this innings.

Easy win ... Galle is not a happy hunting ground for us in general.

The last time we met, should've been a win. It was a harakiri from our batting.

The gulf between these 2 teams is huge, save for rain India should take this series 3-0 even if SL roll out typical Colombo highways.

You don't seem to know what you are debating about. Now you added Australia to SA. Lol. Never questioned Australia's record. Don't want to waste my time with you. I am done.

A massive win for the Indians .... probably, their biggest away win !!!!! Not going to be easy to dethrone them from their # 1 ranking !!!!!!!! But SL heavily handicapped in their own home. They will have to seriously rethink the Team composition for the next Test.

I spent more time on cricinfo than watching test cricket. And here I am, a cricket expert. I would not have been one if I actually watched any of the matches, for I will would fall asleep within 30 minutes. Watching live scorecard on cricinfo is more entertaining than test cricket, you can at least see various stats

You have got nothing to debate here. Good that you are done with your little bit of trolling here.

Congrats India. Our lot are no match for any of the top sides really even at home. Only just barely scraped through against Zimboks that too thanks to a shoddy stumping call. SL cricket really has gone to the dogs. Sad state of affairs.

South Africa winning in Australia is similar to India winning in Srilanka! Australia in fact did better than South Africa beating India at least in 1 test match (this is comparable to India winning odd test matches in Australia). The obstacle of "conditions" in test matches will go away probably when neutral teams start playing in a neutral venue (something like Australia vs. SA in India, India vs. Pakistan in England, etc). That is how ODI/T20 somewhat became neutralized at least to some extent!

South Africa and Australia have also suffered embarrassing defeats in India. Also India has been competitive in some overseas series (would have won some series if not for some bad luck or umpire biases!) That too such bad luck occurred when the team had best players and was on verge of victory. This happened against best opponents and not necessarily against weaker teams! On the other hand visiting teams in India who won have not suffered such bad luck! (You can go through the history) In spite of all these, Australia, England and South Africa have one just 1 series probably in India in last 10-20 years! Hence so much criticism for India is uncalled for!

Also flat pitches doesn't give the visiting team more chance, in fact it denies! Helpful conditions gives more chances for upsets. If you have observed, teams have beaten India with good spin attacks with that element of surprise! Similarly we can beat them if we are offered with helpful conditions (this doesn't hold good always, we may lose badly also like whitewashes! This holds good even for visiting teams, they are likely to be whitewashed in spinning conditions! But here we are talking about chance of winning test matches/series and not the margin of defeat/draw!)
