Do we trade? If we did would it be better? Is there any info to back it up? If not why don't we? Why don't any politicians push for this? I want information.

Do we trade? - Yes, but not much.
If we did would it be better? - For India, yes. For Pakistan, it would be good in the short term but not so in the long term. Consumers in both countries would see benefits but producers in Pakistan would lose out and producers should take priority over consumers in a developing country.
Is there any info to back it up? - Up to date stats are hard to come by but they're out there if you're willing to spend time looking for them.
If not why don't we? - Why don't any politicians push for this? Protectionism and politics.

There are countless of statements by Imran Khan that trade is the only way forward for both nations if they want peace.

Used to see Shan Masalas before don't find them anymore not sure generally.

An Indian colleague once saw me buying Shan Masalas at the international section of the supermarket. The next day, she mocked me for "copying India." Apparently Shan Masalas were Indian, as was Coke Studio, and we're just copycats for using the masalas and coming up with our version of CS.

While its true that some people ought to go out more often, I blame the Shan Masala people too. They should've come up with a more authentically Pakistani name, something like Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Memorial Masalas, Guaranteed Halal, or something similar.

My dad has a sweatshirt with a made in Pakistan logo.Dunno where he got that from.

You can find a ton of Pak items in every Indian grocery store in US. I saw Arabs, Afghans shopping in Indian grocery stores, but not a single Pakistani. Not sure where they shop.

I used to have Shan Egg Curry Masala at home.

Fwiw, The Shan masala folks give a lot of money to "authentically Pakistani" causes and anyway, that name is as authentically Pakistani as they come. How many nations can boast about having artists that are Clint Eastwood, Al Pacino and Jim Carrey rolled into one? Pakistan can, and that artist's name is Shan.

Who is Shan?

Never seen that one from Shan in Pakistan or abroad, maybe Shan tweaked it for the Indian audience.

I wasn't aware of the donations. If I understand you correctly, those "authentic causes" have to do with those ubiquitous boxes found in every supermarket, which are then collected every month by an intimidating bearded guy in an SUV?

Questions like that are why blasphemy laws must not be scrapped. He's the greatest, most versatile, film actor of all time.

Was. Fawad Khan is better. At least my wife says so, and she knows best.

Something like that.

You don't know the half of it.

For what its worth, I spent ten years there before returning home at 15. It wasn't so bad, because we lived in our own little bubble, but even today I remember the fairly frequent unsavory encounters where we were at the receiving end of shoddy treatment at the hands of certain Arabs.

People have different priorities in life and different levels of sensitivity to different elements of their environment. This place is depressing and the idea of wasting almost 30 years of my life in places like Pakistan and QA makes me want to jump off a high-rise. The worst part is I no longer have access to my coping mechanisms so when I say depressing, I don't say so metaphorically.

How long do you need to be here before you move on to the destination of your choice?

A year at least. Possibly longer.

I used a woodburning pen to etch a phrase into a pine board and placed it on my desk. "This Too Shall Pass," it says.

Easier said than done I know, but it does give me some solace in trying times (and perturb me in good ones).

Dude you end up meeting the most judgmental Indians :)) but tbf Shan Masala never really showcased themselves as Pakistani, came to know only few years ago that Shan is from Pakistan and Pran from Bangladesh when some news articles started coming up.
