important point was that there was a bomb blast. If I am not wrong, there was one a few weeks back which killed 100+ policemen. If Policemen, and ex PM are not safe how do you expect Indian team to feel safe?

Anyway, none of this matter as India has been clear that they won't travel to Pakistan. It is not a new policy that they came up yesterday. It is same policy for close to a decade now. It is time Pakistani government comes up with same policy and not travel to India or have any other independent policy they think will benefit Pakistan. They have strong leaders like IK who can guide them and street-smart experts like Javed can suggest what works for them.

The Balochistan was basically a non event, while the one in Peshawar was big but Australia carried on with the tour last year when there was a similar one there. Rugby - few countries and if you include American football again few countries and number of fans clearly less than cricket.

only soccer is a truly world sport. Everything else is limited to few countries. But other sports are all doing fine. why wouldn't cricket do well? with t20 there are more teams playing and cricket is more accessible. all these doomsday scenarios have been going on for decades now, yet cricket is doing better than it was. Just last week BBL had the highest fan attendance. So did SA T20 tournament.

I agree. no country is safe. NZ had a mosque attack, Australia also had a blast few years back, so did England. So, no country is safe. But India stance has been same for a decade now. It is not related to whatever is happening in Pakistan now. Policy is due to what happened in Mumbai in 2008. So, until some kind of closure or compromise comes to that chapter nothing will change. So my point is nothing has changed from Indian side policy wise. Pakistan should ignore India and go ahead organize the Asia cup without India. Pakistan has been arranging financially viable tournaments before and doing it now should not be a problem. If ACC creates problem, then they can skip Asia cup and just setup a triangular/multiteam tournament with BD, SL and may be Afghanistan. Invite UAE, Nepal and you have decent interesting tournament. That way Pakistan can show to the world that their plans need not be dictated by Indian policy. They can have a policy that suits them.

I think considering the fact most Pakistanis are deeply upset at the turn of events the best case scenario could be this:

Host Asia Cup in Pakistan without India

Come to WC in India but refuse to play the India Pak match on principle.

That is the only posture that will emotionally hurt India if not finanically.

Because the entire premise of Pakistan playing a World Cup in India is the India vs Pakistan match. If it doesn't happen in the group stage, at least India will be peeved.

If it happens in the semi final or final, well then thats just luck.

Pakistan should not travel to the WC, simple as that. ICC is not going to penalize us as it will be beyond PCB’s hands once they play the government card. If Indian players are not safe in Pakistan, then Pakistan players are clearly not safe in a country which is harboring so much animosity against them.
