India Champions (159/5) crowned champions of WCL 2024 after defeating Pakistan Champions (156/6) by 5 wickets

Hilarious really...

Indian fans didn't give a crap about this tournament until Pak fans online created so much hype after their win in the earlier game and now they have lost the final..

To us :yk
i still don't understand the hype surrounding this league. I guess pak fans needed some good news from pakistan cricketers after first round exit in the world T20. They almost gave it to them. They should be happy seniors finished second. For others this tournament doesn't mean much.

Still the worst innings belongs to Yuvi paa lol WHat should have been a cake walk turned into a last over ending.
Very similar to the 2014 t20wc knock that he played against sl and lost the final for ind. Luckily it didn't happen here again- very horrible knock. Hit out or get out but dont waste balls

No surprise really, when the chips are down Pakistani players show their true aukaat. The present Pakistani players have no real right to criticize the present players as they have shown in this tournament when it really mattered, they choked.

Agent Misbah won India another tournament :vk2 @topspin @Rana @mominsaigol
Misbah always winning tournaments for India.

Our greatest match winner
Some things never change @Major
Tbf he got injured, so it's not as bad as 2007, but my issue is, Last game one could very very clearly tell that Misbah and Afridi were not fit. It was clear as day.

Commentators pointed it out, PP members pointed it out. The yt and twitter comment section pointed it out.

So why didn't the team management just have razzaq and Arafat play instead? When it was clear as day their more fit, inform and ready? Especially when razzaq already batted at a 200 Sr in the previous game he played?

And better yet, What was up with Misbah and Afridi's ego? Even if the management is clueless, why on earth can't you just man up and say you're not fit so we can't play today?

Unfreaking believable. Yk's captaincy has Been gun throughout the whole tournament with the exception of the semi and final.

His captaincy was terrible in semi and final.

Although I am not suprised, because even in Misbah's golden era he frequently played unfit players over actual inform ones like him persisting with jamshed over sarfraz for 6 games even though jamshed couldn't get a single double sight score. Dropped all his catches and couldn't even run properly.

Worst batting and fielding by Shoaib Malik but understandable as another notorious misfielder and catch dropper Hasan Ali was wandering around and chatting unnecessarily with Malik's wife during the whole match. 😏
Pakistan's regular team has been crappy wrt fielding for decades lol This league is for retired players. Almost all senior teams dropped catches. That is part and parcel of leagues like this.

Bro- remember i told you I was getting the 2023 odi WC vibes before the sf where pak wins all games and loses in the final to ind or aus! Didn't imagine it would be so prophetic 😀

As i have always mentioned- the road to any wc win runs through aus. Ind beat aus in the t20wc last month and ind beat aus this champions tournament as well in the sf. Was a bit more positive after the sf ind win that if they could beat aus- they have a chance against pak in the final which is what happened as pak was certainly the fave in the final. But pak fielding was very shoddy.. and misbah as usual never disappoints for ind! He's the biggest loser i have seen overtaken only by klrahul in that regard..

Misbah, Rizwan, and chacha the bottler trio

india should run for online campaigns for inclusion of misbah in pak team for next t20 wc @Major .he is the ultimate choker
Remember our conversation earlier about media propaganda distorting reality?

Give it some time, and the same thing will happen again soon today.

The reality is misbah is the biggest bottler, and destroyed pakistan cricket as a captain and coach/selector. Invented this dosti yaari, cake cutting culture, just like babar, nearly the whole team such as jamshed, UA, irfan all grew overweight because of him etc etc. Today fitness, Bottling, everything was present before your very eyes, Same qith 2007, Mohali, that England 2012 game etc etc.

However give it a few more years and by 2027, you'll be hearing the words

- Misbah was the greatest captain of Pakistan since imran Khan.

- Misbah played with a nothing team.

- Misbah restored respect back to pakistan cricket.

I bet for this game they'll say something like, Pak Champions was down and out, and then misbah came and laid the platform leading to a mighty 156 total on a minefield pitch were 100 was par, thanks to misbah we were 56 runs over the par score. 🤣🤣🤣

World Championship of Legends 2024: India Champions Clinch Title with Thrilling Victory over Pakistan Champions

India Champions are crowned the World Championship of Legends 2024 winners, showcasing their dominance and team spirit throughout the tournament

In a pulsating finale of the World Championship of Legends 2024, India Champions emerged victorious by defeating arch-rivals Pakistan Champions by five wickets here at Edgbaston on Saturday (July 13).

The Yuvraj Singh-led side showcased their dominance in the competition and secured the coveted title in a match that went down to the wire as two teams fought hard.

Pakistan Champions, opting to bat first after winning the toss, posted a competitive total of 156 for 6 in their 20 overs.

Kamran Akmal (24 off 19) and Maqsood (21 off 12) gave the team a solid start, but regular wickets kept the scoring in check.

The standout performer was Shoaib Malik, who scored a crucial 41 off 23 balls, anchoring the innings. Captain Younis Khan failed to make a mark as he was clean bowled by Irfan Pathan for 7. The middle-order collapsed and Misbah-ul-Haq was retired hurt after a brisk 18, late contributions from Sohail Tanvir (19* off 9) ensured Pakistan reached a respectable score.

Indian bowlers, led by Anureet Singh who clinched three wickets with support from Vinay Kumar, Pawan Negi and Irfan Pathan (one wicket each) were instrumental in containing Pakistan's batting lineup.

In response, India Champions started their run chase with intent. Despite losing Robin Uthappa (10) early, Ambati Rayudu's explosive 50 off 30 balls set the foundation for the chase for the Men in Blue.

Suresh Raina too departed cheaply for 4 in the same over, helping Pakistan make a comeback. But a strong partnership between Rayudu and Gurkeerat Singh Maan (34 off 33) kept India on track.

Rayudu and Mann also departed in a space of 10 runs but the momentum stayed firmly in India's favour with Yusuf Pathan's blistering 30 off 16 balls before the latter was dismissed in the penultimate over.

With captain Yuvraj Singh (15*) and Irfan Pathan (5*) at the crease, India sealed the win, finishing at 159 for 5 in 19.1 overs, much to the delight of their fans.

Pakistan's bowlers, despite their best efforts, couldn't halt India's march towards the target. Aamer Yamin was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3-0-29-2, supported by Sohail Tanvir and Sohail Khan, who took one wicket each.

Brief Scores:
Pakistan Champions: 156/6 in 20 overs (Shoaib Malik 41, Kamran Akmal 24; Anureet Singh 2/43)

India Champions: 159/5 in 19.1 overs (Ambati Rayudu 50, Gurkeerat Singh Mann 34, Yusuf Pathan 30; Aamer Yamin 2/29)

Result: India won by 5 wickets.

Misbah does not even care about pak.he should have not played in first place since he is injured but a choker is always a choker.
As I said, Give it a few years and you'll come back to media propaganda saying if it wasn't for misbah, Pakistan wouldn't have made the game competitive.

Horrible and disgusting behaviour from loyalists only.

misbah and Afridi were unfit, do you think Yuvraj and Yusuf Pathan were attended Kohli’s gym?…. Their tummies clearly shows they are unfit

Congratulations India but I did not even know these teams were playing. Only after seeing in PP I knew about this games and I thought they are charity games. Anyway Pakistanis are runners up so no harm done.

Thanks to Pak fans and the seniors overhyping this and shooting themselves in the foot.

Congrats to India. They were the better team in the final and played better cricket.

We are on a streak in legends leagues.

In 2022, we already won the Road Safety World Series, beating Sri Lanka in the final under the leadership of Bharat Ratna Sri Sachin Tendulkar ji.

These ex- Pakistani players were criticising current Pakistan team after they bowed out in 1st round of T20 WC24. Babar, Rizwan Co. Must be experiencing sigh of relief

That Tanveer guy is right, so many active players and yet a bunch of pot bellied retired granpas beat them comfortably. Something is seriously wrong with Pakistan's domestic Cricket these days.

This pak champions team can easily beat current pak t20i side. The middle order and top order much much better than what pak have right now.

Chalo yet another defeat, at least here they made it to the finals, Yeh hi choti choti khushyan hai baqi. Congrats to our Indian posters and fans for yet another trophy. Finally Indian cricket’s hard work paying off. Long term planning doing wonders.

Billions of dollars spent, and 2nd trophy in over 10 years or so, wonderful achievement, Happy Diwali India.

Wait people are seriously watching this crap?
And counting this as some real achievement? Lol. You got to be kidding me.
This is a joke tourney. Who cares about these washed up has beens

Who said bcci cares about winning? What fills the pockets is what matters. Their aim is only to create superstars which somehow helped in finally getting a trophy after 10 years. All rubbish selections to accommodate said superstars which cost india like 2 3 tournaments.

Glad this tournament is over. Too much hype for has beens..

Only thing worse is they have funded Ajay Devgn to watch more films to remake them in Hindi

Now they say it is a friendly game, not so serious one, and take it easy

Yeah, but at least all teams should be balanced sides with criteria for age and fitness.

Actually, BCCI really missed the last 1.5 decades of thrashing pakistan badly , but they did not play any test match

Likes of Kohli, Rohit, Raina, Pujara, Rahane, Ashwin, Jadeja, Bumrah never played any test match against Pakistan.. Cant imagine on those fata wickets of Karachi, kohli/Rohit might have crossed 400 runs in an innings

India plays with 12 players including Misbah on their side.
I've always maintained that Misbah is India's 12th man and this is evident by his performances in the 2007 WT20 final, 2011 WC SF and in this fixture to top it all off as well.

Former Indian cricketers have come under fire from disability rights groups for "mocking" people with disabilities in a viral video

The video, in which Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, and Suresh Raina attempt to recreate actor Vicky Kaushal's dance step from the song "Tauba Tauba," was shared on Instagram after India Champions defeated Pakistan Champions by five wickets in the World Championship of Legends 2024 final.

In the video, the cricketers are seen limping and holding their backs, mimicking the physical toll taken by the matches on their bodies.

Disability activists have condemned the video, calling it insensitive and in poor taste.

The National Platform for the Rights of the Disabled (NPRD) labelled the video "totally disgraceful."

In a post on X, the NPRD stated, "No words are sufficient enough to condemn such behaviour especially when displayed by people considered national heroes. Such degrading actions only exposes their total insensitivity and boorishness."

Arman Ali, executive director of the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People, urged the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to address the issue.

"Disgusting to see India's top cricketers mocking disability. Shameful and atrocious behaviour from those who are idolised by masses. Shame on them. I urge BCCI to take immediate note of this," he said.

Disability rights activist Satendra Singh emphasized the cricketers' influence as role models for many Indians. He noted that Yuvraj Singh, who has battled cancer, should have shown more empathy.
