India close on 300/6 on Day 1 of the 2nd Test in Chennai

300 is good score here but i don't think india can score on this pitch

Rohit can. Alone :smith

Think Rohit, Kohli, Pujara have to maximize. This innings can quickly fall apart.

If they've put up a big score, Pant can come in and lay waste to whatever's left of England.

Absolutely pathetic over rate from England and that's when they have 2 spinners in their ranks.

Now that Sharma has already reached 50, he will play his natural shot, a skyer against up-spinner caught at the boundary.

What we need us to bat a full 2 days here. Not sure we have the ability to do that. Need to punish england in the field.

Brother moeen over dom bess is an absolute farce of a selection. Moeen is done as an international cricketer.

India won't last here too long. They have played poorly against spin.

That shot from Pujara looked like an afterthought and hence he paid the price.

India didn't lose the first test because of the pitch. That's an embarrassing excuse.

To be fair, the first pitch was much more of a 'bat first and win' pitch. That was so good to bat on the first 2 days.

Here, there will not be much difference between the 2 first innings.

Lol, Kohli should cut down on all this posing non stop with Anushka and actually get back to doing what he used to do best ie focusing on his game

He is done as a cricketer. Him continuing to lead us is a farce bigger than his batting.

Lols at Kohli refusing to walk and pushing for a review after getting clean bowled. Beyond arrogant.

Lol, Butcher laying into Kohli for standing his ground after being bowled.

That pitch was flat on day 3 as well, when India threw their wickets away to Dom Bess. It was criminal to be bowled out for less than 350 on that wicket. It's a pathetic cop out to excuse the poor batting by stating that the result was only attributable to the toss.

This pitch is underprepared and certainly not fit for purpose.

As a kashmiri i always hated virat from core of my heart
But i dont know why i always feel bad now adays when he gets out without a century

England have strengthened their batting. Just needs to go all out attack at Indians and get them out for less than 150 here. Then even a 100 runs lead will be handy!

Bess certainly had a bit of luck in the first innings. Apart from Pant, don't think anybody really threw away their wickets if you actually watched the match.

Infact, there were very less number of false shots as per the Cricinfo and Cricviz data on control.

Sehwagesque from rohit so far

In such wickets scoring fast can change the complexion of game in no time

His arrogance led to his wicket, no way he should have attempted that kind of stroke that early in his innings.

Rohit seems to be playing on a totally different deck.

Some serious dust being thrown up by the spinners already. This match could quickly get messy. Might be a bit of a lottery at times.

It wasn't just a bit of luck, he got two wickets off rank bad balls. Indian batsmen were simply not patient enough to bat time on that pitch, which was how England batted on the first two days. Anyone arguing against Indian complacency in the first test is being disingenuous.
