That's the run rate of Team India in the first 10 overs of an innings since WC2015.

Yet they manage to score big most of the times as they don't throw away wickets after building pressure.

Look at Hafeez's innings today and the one against India the other day. No sense of rebuilding or anything. Just plain dead bat.

It's 4.82.

I havent checked but their numbers in the remaining overs should be fairly impressive to reflect the match outcomes.

That's because they have a assembly line of destructive bats to give them acceleration at the death

Pandya comes at 7, Jadeja at 8. So they have this luxury to fall back on. And normally Kohli will be there accelerating the scoring

Runrates are like swag. Only insecure kids worry about it if they dont have substance

India has the worst run-rate in the 1st 10, but the best run-rate in the middle overs - 10-40. A decent finish run-rate as well - not the worst, not the best.

But the slow starts are the reason why we are not dominating ODI cricket and have fallen short against the top teams like Aus and SA on flat tracks.

Biggest reason for the slow starts is one guy - Rohit Sharma. He bats like he's a right-handed Ganguly - almost Pakistani style strike rotation problems. Only saving grace is that if he goes big, he really goes into beast mode - can hit 4s and 6s against any bowler, on any track.

Completely fine when they keep improving their RR as the game progresses.
