India receiving a humbling in Sydney in the 3rd Test vs Australia

This has been a fantastic series and I've enjoyed the hell out of it. Don't care who wins but the contest has been top-notch and considering that this a significantly depleted Indian team, they deserve credit. These are the two best test teams in the world and it shows.

Their batting is certainly nowhere near as good as the Indian batting lineups of old but we've known that for a while. The Indian team is heavily dependant on Kohli.

Past Indian team didn’t set the world on fire when batting away from home. Overseas batting has always been India’s problems.

Come on, give that Indian batting lineup this bowling attack and they'll be a very different team.

This is arguably Indias worst test batting linup in 2 decades. Can't belive we don't have better bats than Rohit and vihari in domestic and add that a tail which can't hold a bat, we are just lucky our bowling is top notch

Any of our lineup between 2000-2015 would have scored 500 on this pitch

Yeah sure they would have smashed red-hot Cummis- Haselwood-Starc and scored 500 easy.

Some of you need to look at past batting performances of the team overseas.

Only thing Indian team of past did better was to play spin. Nothing else is worth mentioning,

Whats your take on Vihari?

Is he poor against pace?

While we should avoid over-rating the past, we also shouldn't fall into the trap of under-rating them.

The 2000s team had very very average bowling and it was our batting that kept us in the game most of the times.

This current team has a crazy bowling but batsman screw it up time & time again.

While Aussie attack is ATG...the pitch is dead.

Even we could have scored 400 with a little bit of application but we were too stupid to do so.

Now imagine a lienup of Gambo, Sehwag, Dravid, Sachin, Ganguly, Laxman, etc playing on this track KEEPING in mind how we performed against the same bowlers.

It would be a day and night difference.

Screw this game and this series tbh, I am more worried about the injuries. We are only left with Bumrah and Ashwin now and a couple of rookies alongside them.

Shami and Jadeja will probably miss out from home series vs England also.

Waking up at 6 rather than the customary 4:15 am, was expecting Australia to be smashing us all around. No Jadeja, who was the best bowler in the 1st innings.

And yet the lead is just 246. This is an amazing leap forward by an Indian team that I've been used to seeing throwing in the towel with their 1st choice side, never mind their decapitated 3rd choice side. Humbled by my team's quality :rabada2

Match is not over it’s cricket anything can happen. The thread is definitely premature whatever happens.

Why is it a 3rd choice? Apart from kohli who is not playing for the first time since a long time rest are only not playing because of injuries which is part of sport specially bowler. You will always have some injuries with bowlers all good teams must survive without one or two every now and then.

I think, India over achieved in this series. They lost the first Test for one bad session, otherwise could have been leading this series by 2-0 with 2-3 key players missing and win the second Test winning almost every session.

Depleted Indian team is likely to get rolled here & Brisbane on lively tracks, but I doubt had India been full strength, Aussies would have put such tracks - wickets would have been lot flatter and may be couple of Tests ending in draws, Aussies obviously favourites to win 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1.

Rohit Sharma threw his wicket due to sheer intimidation, did you watch what happened?

Only player gave away his wicket due to intimidation was Sani and he is a tail-ender..

Did you see what happened in the Hazelwood over in which Rohit Sharma lost his wicket?

No but I have seen enough of Sharma to know he hasn't been intimidated. I am watching these 15 overs for example and Sharma has no issue with short ball.

Lol I think you are misunderstanding me, I am not saying Rohit Sharma was intimadated by the Australian bowling but by the Aussie sledging :sarf2

Lol they might pull off an unexpected win

But u r a England supporter and u must enjoy that.....

Likeliness of India win is the same as likeliness of me having breakfast on Mars tomorrow morning.

From your comments in this forum, you do seem to be one of the more delusional ones.. so won't be surprising if tomorrow morning you claim to have had breakfast on Mars

If England manages to win against India C in India then there will be an asterisk behind that win too. :inti
Is there an asterisk behind ashes 05 or aus 2004 ind.
Because if that is the case then i have no problem with a similar asterisk on Indian victory.
All these are remembered as great victories

What about Aus winning against India D

They were expected to win their home series just like everytime. It's not that they have never beaten full strength Indian teams at home before. It is actually India that has to prove that they can win against full strength Australian team in Australia. Since we couldn't field our full strength team against this Australian team, asterisk stays. It will only be removed if we at least draw this series or win the next one in Australia. :inti

Lol if you had little bit of cricketing knowledge, you would that the real delusional ones are those who think India can win this match. I won't have breakfast on Mars tomorrow morning just like India won't win this match

Lol me and you both know that India can never win test series in australia against their full strength team

Wow, Pujara looking absolute clueless against Lyon. I don't think I have seen a legit batsmen struggle this bad against any spinner.

Australia were at their lowest in 2018 due to sandpaper controversy and absence of two big players Smith and Warner. We lost our series against England in England earlier that year badly but looked like Champions in Australia within a span of few months later. Because of this some of our over confident fans like Tyron also predicted that we will whitewash NZ in NZ but there also we lost badly. Our full strength team struggled to score 200 there and only scored it once in 4 innings.

We also played our full strength batting in the day night test against Australia but lost that match also. :inti

Like I said, me and you both know that India can never win test series in Australia against their full strength team

You guys got unlucky with so many key players out both in bowling and in batting. Otherwise, this was one of your best chance to win a test series in Australia.
Bowling wasn’t as bad. Shami was the key to support Bumrah and Ashwin is already doing good. Kohli was the backbone but he is also out. That all is very unfortunate for this series.

Whats your take on Vihari?

Is he poor against pace?

I have seen batsmen with much worse technique against pace do well, he has his flaws but the bigger problem is his limited stroke play . I think high quality pace/spin can contain him easily, so i don't see him playing useful knocks when the team needs it at 5 . Overall he's 2 notches below the usual batting standards we expect from an Indian test bat

Yes they should've conceded 589-3 and 580 instead like certain teams.

Glass houses and stones...

The same team lost in newzealnd not too long ago. And we were hating on Pakistan for losing in NZ when they almost drew the first test.

Time to bump this thread i think.

The OP might leave PP permanently if India manage to avoid losing this test :))

Will lose eventually. Probably in this second session itself. But far from humbling. Kohli, Ishant, and Shami MIA will always extract a cost.

Some Indian fans getting ahead of themselves. India is in this position in test not because they forced Australia but because Australia chose to declare in the second innings.

Injury & Unavailability of players from Team India in Australia Test series:

Rohit (First 2 Tests)
Rahul
Kohli
Vihari
Pant
Jadeja
Shami
Umesh
Ishant
Bhuvi

How can any team be this unlucky in a overseas tour and fighting.

Right after this tour, BCCI should arrange a match between Available XI and NCA XI.

:kp

India would have smashed Australia if they had full strength team.

Well done team India

Aus batting longer would have decreased the chances of Aus win. Aus declaring sooner may have resulted in them losing this test.

Aus did not do any favor. They tried their best to win. I think most likely Aus will win here. Plenty of test where the last 5 wickets goes down in the last session and here India has a weak tail.

Hanuma Vihari limping in between the wickets. Another blow for India.
Ashwin injured multiple times.

Impressive by Ashwin - taking the fight to Australians - at some point they will have to go defensive

Hope IND pull this off and by extension put an end to incessant trolling on PP.

If there is a country to bat this out in, it’s AUS.

As long as you put an asterix against many India's loses on history

Why still the pretense though? Every person here knows you are not Indian, why keep pretending?

He tries to be Indian version of Mamoon, but difference is that Mamoon speaks straight forward without bias even though against his own team. This guy is a hater of Indian cricket.

Lol I think Indian fans have same opinion of BVB that PakiStani fans have of Mamoon.

What a dumbo so I have been trying to be Mamoon for over 8 years now Mr ZerotoZero? :misbah

I have never hyped Pakistani players here being an Indian. I never do any comparison between Pakistan and India like Mamoon does. I never want my country to fail so that is why I want few players which I don't think cut it in International Cricket dropped. It is my opinion. Deal with it.

Also not liking IPL or not worshipping some next big things won't make me a less Indian here. I don't want to be a hypocrite like Indiafan who also happen to be a bhakht questionning other's nationality just because of a difference of an opinion lol. I am pretty sure he plays with barbie dolls at home. And then there are useless trolls like you who don't even have a spine to post their own opinion but have a problem with others who are posting them. :inti

Our fans will keep running their mouths against the vastly superior Indian team because their own team has no talent, no skill and no mentality.

As a result, they will keep embarrassing themselves. Not sure if the last two Tests have been a bigger nightmare for Australian players or Pakistani fans.

BVB does not talk much about Pakistan he is very critical about Indian team so he is not exactly like Mamoon.

Mamoon also supports England probably more than Pakistan (not sure why unless he is a Brit Pakistani)

Test cricket at it's best!

India has just bundled out to a meakley 244 on what's touted as the batting paradise! No matter how you try to cover it but it's an incredibly disappointed performance by the "best batting line up in the world".

Australia batsmen will now come out all guns blazing and India is set to face a huge humbling loss in this match! It's humbling because we saw what happened after Pakistan got smashed by New Zealand in the last test. :kp
Mate.. Come out of cave and show your face.

Lmaoo for some reason it seems you have the biggest nightmare of all by copy-pasting the same post everywhere, making preemptive excuse threads, attacking #7 ranked Pakistan team performance whenever Indian chips are down. I’m baffled as to what has you so rattled...

And you will keep running your mouth against Australia.

Australia deserve this humiliation for persisting with the Paine scam. A rubbish cricketer who is not fit to play for Ireland.

If it wasn’t for the sandpaper-gate, he would be counting cash at Kookaburra.

He is Australia’s Misbah, except that Misbah was a very good cricketer.

Tim Paine to Ashwin : can't wait for you to get to the Gabba

Ashwin: can't wait for you to get to india. It'll be your last tour
