What progress in Mush era? India was stupid to have engaged in thay era when terror attacks in India became frequent ultimately culminating in 26/11.

Follow up? Within couple of weeks we had pathankot attacks. What follow up after tgat?

Within months of Lahore we had Kargil.


Thanks but we have had enough of engagements. Until Pakistan decides not to poke its nose in India, any engagements are futile.

India and its government have consistently tried to make peace with Pakistan. Problem is that Pakistan Army doesn't want to make peace unless it can "win" in Kashmir. And India won't make peace if it "loses" in Kashmir. So the deadlock remains.

Afridi supports secessionism in India.

If i go by views on PP, majority of Pakistanis support secessionism of Kashmir from India. Well why should they be given an oppurtunity to earn money in India?

Where have I said Pakistanis should be given an opportunity to work in India? If you want my opinion, no self respecting Pakistani would go to India to feed his/her family. There are many other options out there.

My point was Ghambir cant be taken seriously because he spews hate no different to Shiv Sena, RSS or extremist BJP members. He has not made any intelligent points regarding how both nations can improve relations.

IIRC some Indian talk shows , even had entire sgements/episodes dedicated to Afridi.

We have more regional language channels than overall channels in Pakistan still you rarely hear about Pakistan any day

Regarding Gambhir comment it’s just asking govt to stay neutral while Afridi made a secessionist comment which obviously gets more coverage.if tomorrow Gambhir make a statement saying free Baluchistan even your media goes crazy.

Regarding Kashmir after Pandits were brutally thrown out but difficult to believe in any consensus.

There are plenty of Indians that have views I find objectionable (20% of Indians still practice caste discrimination according to surveys). We cannot just ban people we disagree with, it creates a closed and fragile society.

Ban Pak from everything, no one cares. I don't see Pak crying about it. Question is why does India not go ahead with these cheap threats? How wrong are they if they think cheap forms of blackmail will make us obey them and talk their language. Bollywood and Cricket ban's have got them nowhere, the options are running out.

Well, Hinduism is a minor religion that is based in one country and has never had an influence on the world. Ditto with Buddhism.

Islam spans continents; nearly two people out of seven are Muslims. Of course it's going to come into contact with a lot more people than some minor belief system.

As for your rubbish allegations, Jews, Hindus and Christians have actually enjoyed far more rights, safety and prosperity under Muslim empires than vice versa. Take a history class or two and learn about Jerusalem under Muslim control, Muslim Spain, Mughal rule (from unbiased sources), Ottoman Empire and of course the early years of Islam.

Indeed, nothing will really change as along as such people are around in the sub continent with this typical jingoistic and simplistic mindset which believes : (1) All EVIL lies on the other side of the border, all GOOD lies on our side, (2) They are always WRONG even when they might be right and we are of course always RIGHT even when we happen to be wrong. (3) Everything is their fault, they are the AGGRESSORS, we are the innocent VICTIMS , and (4) only solution for peace is they stop all the wrongdoing they listen to us and accept our terms, and then and ONLY then there can be peace, until then no we won't even talk.

Gambhir is a rational person and if people don't like his opinion, they can respectfully disagree instead of commenting on how vertically challenged he is.

It's certainly not as controversial as Afridi calling for civil war in India.

Its not Pakistan belief, it is an internationally recognized political issue. United Nations and rest of the world alongwith Pakistan recognizes it as a disputed region. So does your own state by the way as IOK is not part of Indian federation.

I don't think India and Pakistan can ever have a positive relationship much like Palestine and Israel, although the latter are more hostile because here and there you still see friendships between the former.

As for your rubbish allegations, Jews, Hindus and Christians have actually enjoyed far more rights, safety and prosperity under Muslim empires than vice versa. Take a history class or two and learn about Jerusalem under Muslim control, Muslim Spain, Mughal rule (from unbiased sources), Ottoman Empire and of course the early years of Islam.

Why dont you tell us how the Hindu + Buddhist population now stands at less than 2% in what is now in the current day called as Pakistan + Afghanistan region which was 100% Non-Islamic before about 8th Century AD and also one of the most prosperous regions in the World ? Where did they all go if they were so well protected and thriving under the great Muslim empires ?

And just for giggles what is this supposedly unbiased source that you talk about Mughals ?

Generally speaking, in Muslim empires the non-believers could be safe if they accepted their subordinate position. As the Ottoman Çandarlı Kara Halil Hayreddin Pasha wrote "The conquered are slaves of the conquerors, to whom their goods, their women, and their children belong as lawful possession".

The Mughal Empire gets a lot of attention because it is the most recent Indian empire, but in terms of history it was rather unimportant lasting for only 180 years. In comparison the Chola Empire lasted almost 1,600 years.
