In what world are Rayudu and karthik better than Rahul and Pant??
Appalling team selection tbh
 
Seems like new ball is the biggest problem for PAK - top order struggles against any decent attack with new ball, pace bowlers struggle to control the new ball.

He bowled well against Rohit and Dhawan too.He isnt giving any freebies.Hassan and Shinwari are the main culprits here as far as the bowling is concerned.
 
Rayadu and DK are clearly thinking about getting as much game time under their belt as possible. Smart thinking.

There are no extra points for winning in 25 overs instead of 30.

It's working because Dhawan and Sharma did the heavy lifting for us. Godforbid if India hve to chase 250 plus. After this we have grandpa dhoni coming in entertaining us with his 50 not out of 80 balls :facepalm:

Still they'll win most games in Asia - two reasons : one is skill set which is obvious, another part rests in upper chamber. Indian school cricket teacher won't come to UAE with 1.5 spinners & 6 pacers, just one example - I can give many more.

280-290 on such wicket should win games most times even with Kohli in it - but what Indian U23 team won't do is blowing off a predictable chase like 190 or 200. And, definitely they won't get all-out inside 43 overs, from 80-2.

Can't blame them to not be playing like a Dhawan or Rohit. They are not that talented and more importantly, they do not get 1% of the opportunities. One can understand if they want to make the most of the limited opportunities and remain not out.
 
Hk match was better. Pakistan needs to learn from minnow. Kudos to ACC, setting second match with Pakistan.

Why should people hide? The Asia cup starts now with the super 4. Yes we were very poor today but there are lots of reasons for PAK to bounce back.

Tomorrow is a new day. The batting needs to fore and they will come good next game.

I am actually waiting for guys like prithwi shaw and shubhman gill to get a chance in the senior team. Really tired of seeing same old recycled trash but they will in all probability not get a chance before the world cup. Indian cricket is very conservative that way.

Remember Rayadu won ipl for csk last year in similar conditions
Remember DK against BD in final

Pant will get his chance

His keeping is not as good as msd at present

Pakistan received a whupping today without Kohli.

Too many pacers, too many brainless slogs, too many lacking a plan, bowlers bowling too short, not using the new ball, and most despairingly of all, giving up when we took two quick wickets.

Can anyone tell me how this Indian team is a 2nd tier team or B team just for Kohli isn't playing? Some posters have the habit of underestimating the opposition by labelling 2nd ,B,C so easily. Can anybody make me understand? Kohli is a vital force for India no doubt, but India is a killer ODI team just not for Kohli, they have other match winners too in their team.

It was a good win for India but what is Rayudu doing in the team. And about Pandya, he was to be rested too, he has not been great of-late (with the injury, he might be as well). Pakistan seem to be top-heavy like India. Once Fakhar and Babar are out, their chances are down by 50-60%. Anyway, good match. Hope Pakistan comes back strongly to give the fans a thrilling match.

A point about fitness - Rohit seems to be so totally out of shape, surviving with boundaries and sixes. Is the yo-yo test carried out once a year ?

I can understand your frustration after getting a phainty. It should be worrying you to see your team get owned by a team that even HK gave fight to.
The truth is that your team couldn't give fight to a team whereas your team gave up.
So you agree now that your team was lucky to be spared by HK :))

You should be more worried that you had to bat and bowl the complete quota of 50 overs just to beat an associate nation which we smashed by 8 wickets.

What a boring match, Pakistan played well below their potential. If they get to 90% of their normal level, they will humiliate India. Without Kohli and under idiot Shastri we are a minnow team and certainly not among top 2 in Asia. In Super 4s I predict us to lose to both Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Yes we were worried because we are a lesser team without Kohli but when it comes to Pakistan we bring our A game and beat your team to surrender most of the last decade. One fluke win in the final happens and we will let you celebrate it till 2050. :afridi

No but Kohli is a captain as well, also Pandya got.injured in the middle.and there were only 10 players proper, did sub but still

We should be up for the Sunday match. Indians fans are right in saying our team in particular batting is incredibly weak like a team of tailenders. I don't think even one Pak batsmen would get in to the Indian top or middle order such is the gap in class. Having said that there is no guarantee that Kohli would have scored heavily had he been brave enough to play.
 
glad we lost. good reality check for team and fans especially for management. haris should play all matches till world cup. Criminal to drop him.

Pandya going off screwed us as Malik and Babar were milking him for five runs per over without taking too many risks.

We will hit back just like we did in the chanpions trophy final Agaisnt your overrated team and beat them by 180 runs. It's how Pakistan is in cricket they lose first match or first important match badly, have a meeting with the coach watch some rocky training montage on YouTube and get into beast mode and knock out all the teams in front of them s enjoy this victory :) it won't be long
 
tbh I’m okay with Pakistan losing a match like this in the middle of a tournament cauz this keeps them in check just like champions trophy and the tri series where we lost a match very badly and then won the tournament, this is good so our players keep on improving rather then winning convincingly and stop working hard
With this we actually know that Indians actually do care about Asia cup, it was just that they wanted to roll the defeat under the carpet had they lost but it will be fun in super 4 and final

Congrats to India but they’ve only won the battle not the war which is the Asia cup
 
Congratulations to India. Pakistan failed to absorb pressure in this one. Bowling was more jazbati than than it should. Pakistan bowlers did not vary pace and tried to bowl quick from the beginning helping indians to time the ball.
Batting tried to smash India out of the game where ball was stopping. I am hoping to have a much better performance in the next game

Please pak give us a phanity of all time in next matches, so our selectors will be out of coma for selecting raydu, kartik, & jadhav of all the players. I seriously want this to happen then only we can see fresh faces in team like Gill, Vihari, prithvi. I don't mind loosing with these players as they will learn, then winning with players who TTF's.
