Pakistan outfox China in Men's Junior Hockey Asia Cup​


Pakistan hockey team had started off the proceedings in a boisterous fashion by beating China by 7-2 in the Men's Junior Hockey Asia Cup in Oman on Wednesday.

According to details, Fayyaz Hamza and Sufiyan Khan had netted two goals each for providing to the Green Shirts’ winning cause.

Rana Waleed, Muhammad Ammad, and Muhammad Mugheera had scored one goal each.

Pakistan will lock horns against Bangladesh tomorrow.

Pakistan thrash Bangladesh 6-0 in Junior Asia Cup Hockey

Pakistan extended their winning streak in the 2024 Junior Asia Cup Hockey with a dominant 6-0 victory over Bangladesh in their second group match in Muscat, Oman on Thursday.

This is Pakistan's second consecutive win in the tournament, following their opening 7-2 triumph over China.

Sufyan Khan was the standout performer, scoring a hat-trick to lead his team to victory. He opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a penalty corner, giving Pakistan the early lead.

Moments later, Mohammad Ammad doubled the advantage, making it 2-0 through a field goal.

Sufyan struck again in the 32nd and 43rd minutes to further extend Pakistan’s lead, these back-to-back goals also completed his hat-trick. Rana Waleed added a fifth goal in the 51st minute, and Zakiya Hayat completed the scoring with a sixth in the final minute of the match.

Mohammad Ammad was named the Player of the Match for his all-round performance in the game.

Pakistan's next match will take place on November 30, where they will face Oman in their third group-stage fixture.

Pakistan showcased an exceptional performance on Saturday, defeating Oman 7-0 to maintain their unbeaten run in the 2024 Men’s Junior Hockey Asia Cup.

This emphatic win marks Pakistan's third consecutive victory in the tournament, adding to their earlier 7-2 win over China and a 6-0 triumph against Bangladesh.

Rana Waleed emerged as a key player for Pakistan, netting two goals to contribute significantly to the victory.

The game began with Pakistan taking an early lead as Shahid Hannan scored within the opening two minutes, followed by Waleed doubling the advantage late in the first quarter.

The second quarter saw Abdul Qayyum furthering Pakistan’s dominance with a well-executed field goal. The momentum continued in the penultimate quarter, where Basharat Ali and Waleed added two more goals, pushing the score to 5-0.

In the final stages, Nadeem Khan and Sufiyan Khan capped off the team’s stellar display with a goal each, sealing the comprehensive 7-0 win.

With nine points from three matches, Pakistan solidified their position as Pool B leaders. They are set to face Malaysia, currently second in the pool with seven points, in their next match on Sunday.
 
Men's Junior Hockey Asia Cup: ‘Unbeaten’ Pakistan seal semi-final spot

Pakistan sealed the semi-final spot by beating Malaysia 4-1 in the ongoing Men's Junior Hockey Asia Cup in Oman on Sunday.

According to details, the Green Shirts continued their winning streak by outfoxing Malaysia. Muhamad Sufiyan Khan played a substantial role in the Men in Green’s triumph by scoring a hat trick.

At the outset of the play, Sufiyan scored a penalty corner to ensure Pakistan dominated Malaysia on the way to go.

Abdul Qayyum also netted a goal on the 51st minute.

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President Mir Tariq Hussain Bugti and PHF Secretary General Olympian Mujahid Ali Khan had felicitated the team for cementing their place in the semi-final in the tournament.

The Green Shirts will take on Japan in the semi-final on December 3 (Tuesday).


 
Pakistan to face India in Asian junior hockey final

Hannan Shahid’s brace helped Pakistan cruise into the Junior Hockey Asia Cup final after defeating Japan 4-2 on Tuesday.

Pakistan now face arch-rivals India, who downed Malaysia 3-1 in the other semi-final, in the decider being held in Oman on Wednesday.

In a see-saw match, Pakistan went in front after 27 minute of play through Hannan before Japan equalised shortly through Tsubasa Tanaka.

Basharat Ali put Pakistan in front again when he converted a penalty corner in the 38th minute.

Japan, undeterred, again restored parity when Rakusei Yamanaka scored early in the third quarter.

But the 19-year-old young star Hannan struck again for the national team in the 48th minute and Mohammad Sufyan sealed the victory in the 52nd minute.
