India missing Tendulkar, Sehwag and Gambhir so Aussies have a chance imo

any members here know what the weather situation is like in Kochi?

I'd tout the Aussies as favourites even had Tendlya and Sehwag beeen playing...they're an awesome one-day side, far better than India. Even though this is a young Aussie side I remember how the youngsters leathered India last year, 4-2

agreed, Aussies have four or five potential match winners imo but i think there may be some rain issues and duckworth-lewis might come into play and that could through the whole thing wide open

I'd put it pretty even for this series.

Two key points:

1. If you actually followed the matches, it was hardly a leathering. Two of the Australia wins were by 4 and 3 runs respectively, could have gone either way.

2. The key performers in that 4-2 win were not the Aussie youngsters if you look at the stats; the top 3 bats were Hussey, Ponting and Watson, none of whom are in the squad. Of the current squad only Cameron White did well.

The top wicket-takers were Watson, Bollinger and MJ, only Bollinger in the squad and he's unlikely to play the first game. Chance for the youngsters to do well for Australia this time, they'll have to if Australia are to win.

This match might not happen because of the weather, if it does, I think India will take it.

Hussey is in the squad.
Australia has battered Indian pretty badly in past few series in India. It could be tough for them this time w/out good the senior players.

You're right, my mistake. Hopefully he'll continue his form from the tests!

India will win this one. India are a stronger side with Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma and Vinay Kumar.

It's weird, in ODI's hes been carrying Australia to all these wins in the last couple of years but has been a liability in tests during this time.

It is drizzling down in Kochi now... but bright sun shine here in Trichur some 100 km away from Kochi... hope to see atleast a 20/20 over match today..

Alright , it's officially called off ? Next match on 20th October , bye bye !

Pathetic for kochi.they hardly get a match.Lol for all the blue shirts.Hope they get a ipl team atleast now(thats not looking good either)

Pathetic from the cricketing point of view as well. the winner going to be decided by only two matches.

Shame but its the same as the test matches. Ashes is what the world of cricket watches, this is why the Indian Matches are just a throw in to make up time. Maybe India should send a micro trophy smaller than the ashes trophy and say they want in on the ashes!
