What's new

India v Australia | 1st Test | Pune | Feb 23-27, 2017 | Day 2

RS is playing very well, he adjusted his game very well...

Maybe sickness is helping him with nerves part. I have seen, physical injury help you with mental part, you think more clearly and become less nerves, because of injury... Could be blessing in disguise 😉😉😉

That Indian collapse looking more and more like an aberration as the Australian lead grows. The pitch is difficult but I don't think it's impossible to chase 300 in the 4th innings. Those 3 drop catches off Smith threaten to take the lead close to 350 though.

Renshaw playing reverse again and again. He hasn't middled it even once.

Another drop. Vijay this time makimg a mess of first slip catch

Hasn't it been just vijay and mukund who have somehow managed to drop 4 catches amongst themselves, i would genuinely check how much money they have riding on aussies.

Vijay had no business in this catch, this is terrible mess up👹👹, it was simple first slip catch. Two very easy catches drop, India showing nerves a bit

I love Renshaw so much. 10,000 + runs and next Australian Captain

That Delhi knock lmao..

Ashwin got 7 wickets that game.

SA spinners averaged 70 in that game after averaging 20 in other games. In the pother games, Rahane averaged 10.

First innings Kyle got a 5fer.

First innings was a decent knock second innings pitch was eased up.

Not saying Nair will play well today. But Rahane has been poor against spin for a long long time.

It wasnt a rank turner like other games.SA spinners are poor and need rank turners which they got .What did Kohli average in other games? You can't take away good innings of a player and say look how he did in his bad games

His highest score was in Indore v NZ where Ash took 13.You know he can't do that on non turners ;-)

Rahane is surely no Laxman or even Pujara. But is he that bad to banish him for an unknown player, specially when hes our best bat overseas?I'm not sure.

Picking batsmen according to the pitches is fraught with risk. They need continuity

That was a poor review. With a long stride forward and the ball spinning, one of either 'impact' or 'wickets' has to be missing.

we have mitchell marsh on field and rather than bringing ashwin or jadeja or get this muppet player our great captain brings sharmaji on.:po::po::po:

Kohli must be livid right now.

Both reviews wasted in the space of 10 balls :))

He's not a FTB but this exactly a great innings to use as evidence...

Every other pitch he's scored on is flat according to some. The pitch he's batting on now isn't flat so it's a good example

I can't believe Aus are doing this to India.

Aside from Starc, I don't think they've played that great to be this far ahead of India.

India have had a nightmare day with everything going wrong.

Its like bloody murphy's law everything that can go wrong goes wrong.
Virat and ChePu gone early, lower order fails, catches get dropped, all we need is maybe an injury to ashwin or kohli and day is complete.

I don't know what it is with Mitch Marsh, but I enjoy seeing him fail..

Jayant yadav is a nothing bowler. He just loops it without any body or revolutions in to his action

Bowlers have to try not to spin every ball, just bowl without putting revs, straighter ones will give you wickets.

I remember a test between India and Pakistan back in 1980s, wicket was tiring a lot but spinner were not getting wickets. Bedi, commented "When wicket has so much spin, you don't have too", next days spinners started getting wickets.

For Spinners it's important not to spin every ball on this wicket 🤓🤓🤓

Forget bowling Bradman, India need Tom Brady to come back from this.

Indian players have themselves to blame for this mess. All starting from the Rahu brainfade to the dropped catches to the wasted reviews. 24 Feb 2017 has been a horrible day for Indian cricket.

To be honest. It was the Starv deliver to Pujara which started all this.

Not for the first time, the absence of Tubs, Heals and Slats has allowed a commentator to shine unfettered. Think Clarke's commentary has been a lot better than I envisaged.

Look at the last over.

You get in, you can play.

But problem is we may be chasing 400 here or more. :))

Need to collapse these Aussies.

Why Ishant now?

Our 2 spin bowlers should go all out now.

Ishant Sharma has bowled just one over.

Maybe the Indian think tank is realising something much later than all the IPL owners put together did.

Is he that useless?

Jayant Yadav is the definition of below average. He wouldn't even be playing for the Bangladesh side. Pathetic bowler who is the spin version of Sami. Bowls it in and hopes for the best. Mishra was such a better option. Only playing on the back of a tukka century.

Kohl must have remembered a game in the past when ishant got a breakthrough.

Or he is just trying everything. We might even see Vijay bowl today

Can someone answer me why legendary captain picked 5 bowlers for a day 8 pitch?

Which pitch do India go for after this?

Going flat would be a mistake IMO, especially if Australia win the toss and put on 600.

The decision was solid.

I don't understand why you are so confused.

Our lower order comprises of Ashwin, Jaddu and Jayant all of whom averaged 40+ last series.

Then you have our top 5 + Saha.

Why wouldn't Kohli go with 5 bowlers?

No brainer really.
