Not a bad effort by our Bowlers

Some PPers were expecting our bowlers to give 350+ runs but a very good bowling in the middle (by Spinners n Zak) restricted Aussies to a chasable score :)

Good job Zak, Ashwin, Bhajji and Yuvi with Balls :)

Still a very good Total. It will take some good batting to reach.India will have to be mentally strong to chase it down.

I say the Aussies have this, the first 10 overs will make it or break it for India.

Match can go 50-50 from here. India slight favorites to chase this score - however if Aus get some quick top order wickets then Match will tilt towards them.

Good bowling by Indian bowling standards ......now our batter need to make 261 ....common India .....we should chase it ....

I think Australia are 10 runs short, but the average score here is 248.

Aussies should have played smith! But Lee and Tait are devastating, they have a really good record against India, especially getting opener wickets.

55 runs too many for my liking...
let me see if we can chase this one...wat we've got...

enough???

it will be hard to chase this pitch not that good for batting

i will say AUs will win this by 20 runs

Waoowwww India is on top. They are definitely favs. watch out for India's batting they are gonna unleash Hell. :yahoo

pitch is slow and ideal for spinners, yet Aussies have 3 express bowlers...

Watson will have to bowl well here IMO.

A good score if only the aussies had the right bowlers with one average spinner in their side they will struggle to take wickets. India need to be 50-3 for the ausies to have any chance

brett lee again will have to bowl out of his skin to win this match for australia .. n he'd be needing more than enough support from tait n johnson too!

More than enough. I would be embarrassed if they dont chase this with that kind of batting line-up. The top 3 itself is enough to chase down this target.

Don't forget India weren't that convincing chasing against Ireland and Netherlands. The Indian middle order will have to play sensibly here.

Its been long due from Sehwag ever since his rare 175 against Bangladesh in the opening agme.

If Sehwag stays till 25th Over then we should win it by 3 or 4 wickets

(Worrying thing is no Yusuf in the lower middle order, he's been our savior in some of the crunch chases we had in the recent past. Missing him is really bad thing for our batting order)

Loved that crowd applauded Ponting's 100& when he returning to pavilion ....

and he raises his bat to all over the ground ...good ...14:

Zaheer got 2 top order wickets with slow balls that gripped quite a bit so Aussies quicks need to mix it up with lots of cutters and slow balls as any poorly directed fast balls will just come on nicely on to the bat.
The amount of dew could also be a big factor as well in deciding the match.

We had already tamed the Aussies for our neighbors, now go on and win this so that we can continue with our taming job in SF.

exactly..but the pitch wl slow down...
Anyways I am not leaving ofic till the scoreline says 100/1 , 20 overs. If it's 175/3 in 35, i will go to a public screen!

This pitch is quite similar to the Pak-Aus match yes? The avg score over there was 230-240 too, If Australia bowl like they did against us, Australia will win.

India will win this without too much trouble. Aussies just dont have the spinners to extract help from this track.

India will have to win because i suspect if the Aussis win, they will come out very hard against pakistan, and possibly play better than the first meeting.

But i guess it is always more enjoyable for pak to break the indian fans hearts in the stadium:))

Revenge for 96?;-)

not neccessarily

Every time Ponting scores a century aus win, am I right?

?!!? dont think so..

he has scored his 30th today..

but 260 for India .. is chaseable..

Lee / Tait / Jhonson have the responsibility now to bowl India out ..

Sachin on the other hand looks the lone ranger..

probably Yuvraj , Sehwag should chip in their form ..

Raina , Kohli , Dhoni need to play the game of their lives.. so far..

looks well set for a cracking 2nd innings.. good match up so far..

another below 300 total and another seemingly average target ..

too much of a pitch for spinners. Australia don't have any decent spinners. And India play spin well anyway.

India will chase this most likely.

Happy with a score of 260. When Ponting and Haddin where playing 280 + was sure on cards, so i feel Aussies are at least 20 runs short at the end.

But whether our batters could chase this score up or not, we have to wait n see :)

namaste , bohot hi vivastha ke saath bohot uchit total kara kangaarooN ne

If they get both Sachin and Sehwag under 50 runs then I 'll back Aussies to defend this total.

Overall, I feel India is favourite to knock Australia out.
