India vs Austraila | Match 4 | CB Series | MCG | 10/2/2008

Should be a good match. Aussies looking in good shape, but the Indians have a few dangermen of their own.
 
Sachin Tendulkar needs to take the responsiblity to see off Bracken and Lee. Even a start of 40/1 after 10 overs is good enough for IND.

p.s its a day game and will start in 45 mins
 
It will be a very interesting game and it will be very important for India to somehow survive Bracken's and Lee's spell so they could challenge Australia at Melbourne.
 
so when is the match starting then?! Planetpakistan bro, you sure it is not a day/night game?
 
well going by uzi's time, it starts at 1015 pm in the USA! So meaning it is a day/night match!
 
My feeling is sreesanth will make it. Need to bat first on this slow pitch

if India bat first:
- need to put up 280+ for a chance (sachin + yuvraj +sharma due sehwag as always will be a bonus)
- pathan needs to bowl tight (assuming ishant will be relatively difficult to pick for runs)

if India bowl first:
- India are screwed, aussies will score close to 300 regardless, india will probably lose unless some special performance from somebody
 
The game is due to start in 2 hours 54 minutes.

Is this the same pitch where SL could not make more than 120 last game? If so the game plan for India is clear - if batting first aim for 250, if fielding restrict Aussies to 200-220 and tell openers to get lots of quick runs before pitch dries up. Good luck India!

and then they got out on 74
and same pitch where they haven't won in last 2 decades

For any side, when your ace batsman starts to middle the ball well, he is expected to take the attack to the opposition even if it means taking some chances. He should want to seal the game with that in form innings. eg. Ricky Ponting, anwar, inzaman etc etc etc.

Our guy Sachin, when he finds his feet, he looks at his 100 and not much else. One has to be severely impaired to not notice this.

Tendulkar has better strike rate than all of the above batsmen mentioned :p . It is important you pace your innings. Tendulkar has really been good at it. In the 90s.. he would unleash flurry of shots.. then go quiet in the middle and again he would laungh at the end. His strike rate is over 85.. which is very very good.

as if strike will win you the match! Anyways from what your seeing, its not how you pace your own innings, its the team innings the best batsmen around the world try to pace. Dont throw figures here buddy. the fact is out there and you dont want to accept it. BTW, Gili out

gili is gone.. another great decision by Rudi(the way he gave sangakara out in the test matches againt AUS).. Rudi is Ashoka De silvas level umpire
 
sharma getting a lot of movement .. but can't really control it.
 
Hayden's drop could be costly. He is one guy who torments India time and again.. His wicket is more important than anyone else wicket.

Hayden seemed to be more pumped up.. But he had enough luck in this short little innings. Finally ran out of his luck.

India cannot chase anymore than 200. So 250 would be ideal for Australia to take the game.
