They already do. Look at UAE, Oman, USA, European cricket teams etc.

WTC is useless and jokes in the current format. You can play your 6 chosen series. You collect equal points for beating BD vs India. You can play 2 vs 5 tests in series.

WTC should be played with mandatory 3 tests and all teams playing home and away. If that happens then equal points for all tests is fine because it will average out.

The current ranking system is a flawed system, but a far better indication of real performance than WTC.

Just wrote the following in another thread today.

In the current system, an away win in WI or SL or Bangladesh counts as the same as an away win in Australia or England or SA. That is really stupid.

The world Test ranking system though not perfect, is much better as it is over a 4 year cycle so it includes both home and away series against the same teams. Maybe the final should be played between the #1 and #2 ranked teams.

I am talking about big teams approaching 2nd tier Indian cricketers for citizenship. When emigration becomes mainstream option for sidelined Indian cricketers.

Soon Cricket will be played among few teams. There is no healthy competition anymore like 90s. The talent gap is light years between top 3 to rest.

With our current batting form, we will be lucky if we manage to hold the top spot for even next year. Though India will be among the top 4 test sides for many more years to come.

I am 95% sure that India won't occupy the top spot for the next 10 years. We have a tendency to extrapolate the current trajectory, but it is far harder to keep doing what India is doing.

Even this home dominance is simply unparallel. Dropping just 2 test... It is very hard to maintain that record.

Dont know about the next 10 years. But we definately have the ingradients, a good feeder system and a honest FC system. Once we sort out our pitches, make them more sporting for all trades of bowlers and balance with batsmen-we will thrive further.
Even as i speak , just turned on the telly and saw india u-19 defeat SL u 19 in the 50 over Asia cup finals, had no idea that this tournament was going on. So we are the best U 19 team in asia in odis. If we keep delivering like this, no reason why next 10 years cant be ours.
There are several from other countries who run from pillar to post citing greater money, resources etc.
To those, i would say instead of crying that 'we dont have money' how about analysing how did we create that wealth and resources? it was through sheer hard work, innovation, sincerity to create world class products that upped our economy. Instead of whinging about the whole saazish wave, how about looking in the mirror and taking a hard look at thyself?

The only players who would leave are those who know they won't have a chance of making it for the national team. Probably would also reduce their chances of playing the IPL as they would have to compete for 4 foreigner spots in the XI as opposed to the 7 domestic spots.

With due respect to NZ, they're nowhere near India. India have dominated every single team in last 5 years, both home and away. Especially Australia who are the second best team in the world easily.

WTC is not very relevant for tests. Unlike LOI, tests are self contained and the only thing matters is winning individual series. Playing one off test in final doesn't mean anything. Tests are all about sustained dominance over a period of time.

Exactly. Unmukt is a start for potential mainstream emigration of 2nd tier Indian players.

If they are rich countries like USA, or middle East regions, they can always "adjust" and offer citizenship cards and keep them with Indian passports. Win win for both players and new country.
