Indian Cars and Bikes scene

This guy is an idiot.
He doesn't realize the difference between design and engineering.

Arey I am supporting you. The lone engineer working on the project, and all credit was robbed from you. So that now you have to beg for recognition on a forum where no one knows you.

Royal Enfield Bullet is probably most loved and looked upon to motorcycle in India. Owning one is a matter of pride, and it comes with loads of history too. Longest continuously produced bike in India and also called as Harley of India. Widely used by Police and Military along side bike collectors and rich people.

Its a powerful bike even for the time it was first produced, with 250, 350 and 500 cc options available it is a true desi pride.

I love the look of new Kuv100 thinking of booking it for my wife, own a Ecosport love the car , but if I had the budget 2-3 years back I would have gone for Mahindra XUV .

Man your preferences are all over the price segment :P

Carefully check the reviews of KUV on team bhp site, if you are getting it for your wife.
Buying diesel doesn't make any financial sense and Mahindra is going petrol for the first time with KUV.
So a word of caution!

I am also thinking of gifting a car to my GF. She drives a tiny little car. Just gathering money and should have enough to gift her an apartment and a car by her birthday.

The Ecosport I own is a diesel , tough I was looking for petrol originally lost patience with booking period and went for it . So the second car definitely wont be a diesel . Yeah I will wait for a while and watch KUV's reviews

I would recommend figo aspire in that price range.. or if you want to go desi.. test ride TATA zest or bolt,
TATA brand is a downer .. but features aplenty in those cars for the price.

Jhonty owns few of them in India, thats also his favorite mode of transportation during IPL

Another lesser known Local SUV maker is Force Motors.

Force One SUV
Its a surprising good looking SUV for a company which no one knows about . They are known for making Ambulances and mini buses and brand of jeep popular in villages.

^ To be fair it was an ambitious project by Force motors, but they dont have the engineering backbone in R&D to have pulled it off properly and kind off bungled it.

Don't understand the obsession with compact SUVs, specially for guys. They look okay for women driving them but kind of look gay for men. Either get a good Sedan or a proper 4X4.

Mostly its for city guys who belong to middle class, If you cannot afford a full size SUV but want to drive one then compact SUV provides you with an excellent option. Its more spacious for a small family and has engine power more then you would normally have.

People who can afford full size SUV still get their desired vehicle. Also compact SUVs are better in city traffic and small parking spaces. Compact SUV market is growing not at the cost of full SUV but small cars.

Compact SUVs are getting popular for 2 reasons:

1. The stringent emission norms, make Bigger SUVs less viable
2. Special case for India: the 4m rule, cars bigger than 4m in length get taxed more.

Another old hog in desi heavy bike section

Bajaj Eliminator

Tata Indica, India's first ingenious car ever built. It came out in early 1998 and has been huge success in small families and taxis.

Dooooon't go for Baleno, it looks good, but they have cut cost like crazy.
Try driving it at 120 on a highway, it feels like wind will blow it away. Its an unsafe car.

Tata Xenon, pickup truck from TATA Motors. Now being adopted by Army and Police as well.

Xenon-4.jpg

^^ Its a great bike and very durable for long rides. It has power, easy to handle and can carry lots of load. Its favorite bike for people going to fun ride to kashmir and laddakh.

Five Iranian girls took on the challenge to go from Delhi to Kashmir by themselves.

Newly launched small Car from Tata

TATA Zica

I dont understand the fascination of car companies with this dirty orangish color for all their new car launches.

Nothing(Barring Harley) beats the above mentioned ROyal Enfield Bullet. Would love to have one...I didnt like latest models of RE though..

^^ It took a while for Enfield to adopt to evolving market. At one point they were churning out same old model in dwindling numbers every year and it looked like they are not relevent any more and would close down.

But then they decided to no die silently and started investing in modern technology and better models, and now they are back in the game
