What's new

Indian Cars and Bikes scene

Pulsar Mania, doing burnout and other stunts

TVS, Bajaj, Hero, Enfield etc have come a long way in last decade or so. Back in the days they used to sell us the same old junk with no new models coming. But now since they are facing competition with foreign companies they have turned up the competition and competing with bigger foreign companies instead of merging with them.

Still, Hero rules like Maruti in cars because of better network, Honda is Honda, quality

Bajaj is the cool dude, but has Reliablity issues
TVS is the scared smart kid who doesnt want to leave his comfort zone, (very slow market expansion)

EnField ... :D

^ ^ That was a disturbing ad :(

which country?

Recently various state governments have taken public transportation and environment very seriously. A lot of eve tier II cities are already working on BRTS and Metros, but more important is states are mixing hybrid and CNG buses with regular busses in city transportation.
Recently Delhi govt have decided to ply 10000 new buses in delhi and out of them 3000 will be CNG or hybrid.
Now a lot of companies are putting money in RnD to prepare good hybrid buses and get contracts. Many were showcased in Delhi auto expo 16

Great thread Lords bhai

I remember having those bikes and car cards as a kid. Silver horse was my favourite bike card that time. It had a top speed of 300 and i always used to beat other kids with that card while playing cards. :afridi

Johnson looks like a pro rider, he was riding it very fast.

There was another video of RCB guys riding bikes with their family at RCB farm house

Japanese cars, especially Toyota is reputed for its quality and long life (barring few models), Maruti Suzuki is known for easily availability of cheaper spare parts and service.
In small and mid size family car segment people prefer japanese, koren, german and other european brands to an large extent, especially suzuki and hyundi. In commercial small and mid size cars they prefer Indian.

In commercial SUV its mostly Indian, in compact suv's its Indian, American, In full size personal SUVs its all the same. In full size commercial SUVs in urban areas its Toyota , American brands and Indian

In rural areas its mostly Indian, be it cars or SUVs

In bikes its hands down Indian. Be it commuters bike or life style bikes. So is in ladies bikes.

In trucks and busses its mostly Indian while in luxury segment its Volvo, Merc Benz, Scania etc

In super expensive segment its all foreigners. Be it Audi, Range rovers, Pajero, BMW, Mercs, etc.

Please also note that India has very strict policy against imports so all these vehicles are made in India conforming to Indian safety and environmental norms

Back in the days girls had only one option, Kinetic Honda, but now girls have choices in every range and age.

Female automobile industry has come of ages

Remember INS Virat, the invincible Hero of 1971 war. It retired a while ago and after failed attempt to make it a museum it was finally sold off for scraps.

Bajaj didnt want the legacy to go away in trash hence they bought it, melted it and launched a new limited edition motorcycle called Bajaj V made with INS Virat's Steel.

Limited edition Bajaj V, when you buy it you know you have bought a piece of history, from WW II to 1971, it has seen it all

Seems Ford Eco reduced 1.1 L price to cope up with Maruthi Vitara Brezza(which isn't getting such rave reviews).

Usually around this time they increase the prices, good that every segment of the market is having some competition.
