At least one Indian diplomat is less than pleased that President Trump's daughter and adviser Ivanka Trump is heading the U.S. delegation for a summit in India later this year.

"We regard @IvankaTrump the way we do half-wit Saudi princes. It's in our national interest to flatter them," an unnamed Indian diplomat said, according to Hindustan Times' editor-in-chief Bobby Ghosh.

Ghosh said the diplomat added, "Yes, it is a shame that the US should be compared to a kingdom. But that is America's shame, not Modi's, or India's."

President Trump tweeted on Thursday that Ivanka Trump would lead the U.S. delegation at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in India in November. It was also announced by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who said he "look forward" to her presence at the event.

Ivanka Trump has been the subject of controversy on the international stage before. Last month, during the G-20 summit in Hamburg, Germany, she sat in her father's place at a table of world leaders while he attending one-on-one meetings. The move attracted some critics, leading to Trump tweeting in defense of the decision.

I wonder how well this will go down in Saudi Arabia?

More importantly, perhaps, how will this go down with POTUS, who thinks the sun shines out of his family's posterior, especially his stunningly beautiful daughter!

He's a half-wit like his daughter so it will probably go right over his head.

So true! But, he does love to be complimented, Indians not treating his beloved daughter seriously might annoy him. Then again, India is far too important a country to ignore or annoy.

India is far too important a market would be more accurate. Ironically Trump will remain polite to the Indians for the same reasons Indians will be polite to Ivanka...self interest.
