I thought we were pretty okay against Aus and Pak but as the tournament has progressed we have just gone from bad to worse. If not for Rohit I don't what this team would have done. Seriously who is going to take the blame for this debacle?

We have been saying this for last 2-3 years. The batting is top 3 dependant. Always been like that in recent times.

People have unrealistic expectations. Dhoni isn't Butler or Stokes. Dhoni's role is to get the team to a par score so the excellent Indian bowling unit can take care of the rest. He did his job except in the last over. He probably missed out on a boundary or two at the end. That's it. Who would have thought that India would score 315 without much contribution from Kohli, Pandya, DK. But they did. Don't underestimate Indian batting. They won't blast away to 380 like the English. They don't need to. They can defend par scores easily.

I will blame Kohli (more so) than Shastri, as he is virtually the one who controls all the decisions for our team.

Our batting approach (whether in the first 10 overs or death overs) has been so surprisingly 90s.

If we are going to follow the template of 90s then why not try some crazy opening combo or even pinch hitter at 1 down ?

At least, i won't die wondering that our team didn't try something different.

There is a rigid approach with no flexibility in batting order (and repeating the same mistakes)

It's been a horror show, match after match, when it comes to our batting.

Can't always expect bowlers to come to our rescue, every time!

Dhawan's injury is the problem. He's the aggressor among the three and would score at better than run a ball in the PP overs. He could play long innings too. Once Pandya was out in the 38th and Pant in 44th, it was I portant to take the score beyond 300. DK flopped which made a difference of 15 runs I think

Absolutely correct. India’s problem is both of their openers need time, and they have a weak middle order and zero tail...

Indian batting is flawed. Our batting from No.5 onwards is the worst in the world.

Blame should go on selectors for giving chances to TTF's who were nothing to begin with. We wasted so much time on Rayadu.

exactly, he cant buy a single run. This Indian team cant chase anything over 250. Batting finishes once the top 2 big guns are back in the dressing room. Pant looked impressive today and Pandya is also a useful player, can be India's regular no.6 after Dhoni but they dont seem to have enough depth and experience to rescue a team from 50/3.

There are weaknesses in our batting no doubt due to unfortunate injury to Dhavan.
But then look at England, with probably best line up in world struggling to get in to semis.
But criticism is true and we will overcome it.
