Viral Video Shows Noida Man Performing Dangerous Car Stunt, Police Slap Rs 57,500 Fine

The video begins with the Baleno car speeding down the main road, with another vehicle recording the scene.

A man's attempt to show off his driving skill on the streets of Greater Noida has gone viral on social media. The video shows a Maruti Suzuki Baleno car performing dangerous stunts at high speed, catching the attention of the traffic police.

The video begins with the Baleno car speeding down the main road, with another vehicle recording the scene. The car suddenly swerves, drifts at high speed, and comes to a stop on the side of the road. In the next scene, the same car performs the same stunt again and comes to a sudden halt in front of a residential society.

The video initially appears to be a typical stunt video, but the ending takes an unexpected twist. The last part of the video shows a picture of a challan issued by the Noida Traffic Police, showing a fine of Rs 57,500. This fine was imposed for reckless and dangerous driving.

The video was shared on the social media platform X, with the caption, "A boy performed car stunts on the roads of Greater Noida. Noida Traffic Police took action and imposed a fine of Rs 57,500. Good work, Noida traffic police."

Noida Traffic Police confirmed the incident by posting it on their X handle, writing, "Taking cognisance of the said complaint, action has been taken to issue an e-challan (fine of Rs 57,500/-) in accordance with the rules against the concerned vehicle for violation of traffic rules."

Social Media Reaction

The video has since gone viral, sparking conversations about responsible driving and the consequences of reckless behavior behind the wheel. One user called it "a costly stunt."

Another user wrote, "This is a daily thing for them. I see drivers like this around the Alpha 2 market every day. I'm honestly stunned at how traffic rules are treated like a joke in Greater Noida. I think it's the same problem throughout UP. I used to live in Bangalore, and I never saw such rash driving there. While this is mainly a civilian issue, what about the policing?"

"No fine, you should seize the vehicle and beat them with sticks and upload the video on social media, only then will they learn a lesson," commented a third user.

'Soil Blocked Nose and Mouth, Burn Marks on Thigh': What Post-Mortem Reveals in Delhi Biker’s Pit Fall Death

The post-mortem report of Kamal Dhyani, who died after falling into an unguarded pit in Janakpuri, indicates traumatic asphyxia as the cause of death, attributed to chest compression from a heavy vehicle.

New Delhi: The post-mortem report in theJanakpuri pit fall case that claimed the life of 25-year-old Kamal Dhyani has revealed that he died due to suffocation and traumatic asphyxia, doctors said. According to medical findings, the cause of death has been identified as traumatic asphyxia due to heavy compression of the chest. Doctors said the victim is believed to have fallen into a soil pit along with his motorcycle, after which loose soil blocked his mouth and nostrils, leading to suffocation.

What Post-mortem Report Reveals

The post-mortem report further said the chest compression was likely caused by a heavy vehicle falling or pressing onto the victim after the fall. This pressure on the chest is believed to have restricted breathing, resulting in death.

The post-mortem examination also revealed burn marks on the victim’s right thigh. Doctors said these marks may have been caused due to prolonged contact with a vehicle’s silencer after death.

At this stage, doctors have stated that the death appears to be accidental. However, they added that the final opinion on the exact time and manner of death will be given only after a detailed investigation and further examination of all evidence.

Police said they are continuing to probe the incident and are examining all aspects of the case to establish the sequence of events that led to the fatal accident.

What Happened that Night

The incident took place after midnight in the early hours of Friday, when Dhyani was riding his motorcycle home and fell into a 4.2-feet-deep pit dug for construction work. The pit was reportedly left open and unguarded as part of Delhi Jal Board-related construction activity.

According to police, Dhyani remained trapped inside the pit for several hours. He was later found dead, triggering public outrage and demands for accountability over unsafe road conditions.

Eyewitness Saw the Fall

During the investigation, police identified an eyewitness who had seen the accident take place. DCP West Sharad Bhaskar said Vipin Singh witnessed a motorcycle fall into the pothole and immediately informed a guard at the site. The guard then passed on the information to a contractor’s worker named Yogesh.
Police said Yogesh went to the spot and saw both the victim and the motorcycle, with the headlight still switched on. Despite this, no emergency services were called.
According to the police timeline, Yogesh informed his supervisor, contractor Rajesh Prajapati, at around 12:22 am. However, neither of them alerted the police, ambulance services, or local authorities.
Meanwhile, subcontractor Rajesh Prajapati has been arrested in connection with the death of Kamal Dhyani, while worker Yogesh has fled the scene. Explaining the findings, DCP Bhaskar said the investigation clearly shows negligence after the accident was known.
The incident occurred near the B3B Block in Janakpuri, close to Andhra School, on Professor Jogender Singh Marg on February 5.
According to the FIR, no warning signs, reflectors, barricades or proper lighting arrangements were present at the site, and no security guard had been deployed. The FIR states that the pit was left open in the middle of a public road without any safety measures.
When police reached the spot, they found an unidentified man along with his motorcycle lying inside a pit measuring about 20 feet in length, 13 feet in width and around 14 feet in depth. The pit had been dug in the middle of the road as part of road work.

The injured man was pulled out of the pit by the fire brigade and taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital in a PCR vehicle. However, the hospital later informed the police that “the patient brought by PCR has been declared dead.”
Quoting the medical report, the FIR stated, “Patient was brought to ER in an unconscious and unresponsive state with an alleged history of being found roadside near Joginder Singh Marg at around 08:00 am. Injury details include a grazed abrasion over the epigastric region, and the patient was brought in dead.”

Delhi Biker Death: Delhi Police arrested sub-contractor Rajesh Prajapati on Saturday, February 7, following allegations of negligence after a biker fell into an open pit in the Janakpuri area.

Delhi Biker Death: Delhi Police arrested sub-contractor Rajesh Prajapati on Saturday, February 7, following allegations of negligence after a biker fell into an open pit in Janakpuri. Police said Prajapati visited the site after being informed of the accident but did not take any action. The incident occurred on Thursday night when the victim, Kamal Dhyani, was returning home to celebrate his parents’ anniversary. The pit, allegedly dug by the Delhi Jal Board for road construction, was uncovered and unmarked. The victim’s friend claimed the area had since been covered to “hide their misdeeds.”

'Rajesh Came at Night, Ignored': Police

According to police, a family passing through the area noticed Kamal had fallen into the pit. They immediately informed a security guard stationed there and a person living in a nearby tent. The guard, employed by Prajapati, informed a junior staff member, who then called Rajesh Prajapati at 12:22 am. Although Prajapati reached the site, he reportedly ignored the situation, seeing only the bike and taking no further action.

Altaf Alam, a friend of Kamal, told ANI, "We have been together since childhood. He worked in Rohini Sector 10. The pit was open, and they covered it yesterday to hide their misdeeds. I miss him even more every time I look at his twin brother. All arrangements were made to celebrate his parents’ anniversary."

The FIR notes that the site had no warning signs, reflectors, barricades, or proper lighting, making it extremely dangerous. The pit, located near B3B Block, Janakpuri, close to Andhra School on Professor Jogender Singh Marg, measured approximately 20 feet long, 13 feet wide, and 14 feet deep. Police said the victim was pulled out with the help of the fire brigade and taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.

Officers involved in this incident have been suspended. The FIR has been registered, and the investigation is underway. We will not spare anyone responsible. The Chief Minister is monitoring the situation."
Meanwhile, AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj demanded the suspension of Police Commissioner Satish Golchha, alleging a police cover-up in the case.

Bengaluru:
Seven people, including six school students, were killed in a horrific multi-vehicle accident early Friday morning near M Sathyavara village in Bengaluru Rural district.

The tragedy occurred on the Hoskote-Dabaspete National Highway when a speeding Mahindra XUV 700, with a group of students on an early morning joyride, triggered a chain collision involving a motorcycle and a Canter truck.

The identities of six of the victims have been confirmed as Ashwin Nayar (17), Arhaan Sharif (17), Ayaan Ali (17), Bharat (18), Ethan George (17), and the bike rider, Gagan, a private company employee.

The seventh victim is yet to be identified. The students, aged between 17 and 18, were in Classes 10 and 12.

Gagan, the motorcyclist, was returning home after finishing his 5 pm-3 am shift at work when he was struck. His family revealed a heartbreaking story of loss. Gagan was the sole breadwinner for his mother, who is visually impaired.

Latest and Breaking News on NDTV

According to preliminary police reports, the students had left home around 3 am for a joyride without informing their families. Travelling from Kolar toward Devanahalli, the speeding SUV first rear-ended Gagan's motorcycle.

The driver allegedly lost control of the XUV 700 following the initial impact, causing the vehicle to ram into a Canter truck. The force of the collision was so extreme that the truck and the bike were flung over the median onto the opposite side of the highway, while the mangled SUV skidded nearly 500 metres before coming to a halt.

Latest and Breaking News on NDTV

Ashwin Nayar, a resident of Kothanur, was studying at RV PU College. Arhaan Sharif and Ayaan Ali were students of CMR Institute and residents of HVR Layout. Bharat was also a student at CMR Institute and a resident of Frazer Town. Ethan George was studying at RV College and was a resident of Hulimavu.

Initially, the parents were informed that their children had been seriously injured in the accident. However, when they arrived at the hospital, they learned about the deaths and were left inconsolable. Family members of Arhaan Sharif said that he did not even know how to ride a bike, forget about driving a car. "He left home and never returned," they said.

At the Hoskote government hospital, scenes of absolute grief unfolded as parents arrived. Many were initially told their children were only "seriously injured."

"He left home and never returned," said family members of Arhaan Sharif. Shocked by the reports of the joyride, they claimed Arhaan did not even know how to ride a motorcycle, let alone drive a high-end SUV.

IGP (Central) Labhu Ram and Bengaluru Rural Superintendent of Police Chandrakant visited the site to oversee the investigation.

"Seven people were killed in a chain road accident. We have cleared the vehicles and shifted the bodies to the hospital," IGP Labhu Ram said. "The investigation is on to determine if the driver was in an inebriated state. We cannot confirm that at this stage."

While overspeeding is currently cited as the primary cause, the Sulibele police have initiated a full probe into the mishap. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.

Mumbai Plans to Fix Andheri Subway’s ‘Famous Floods’ with Flyover – Check Updates So Far

The Andheri subway in Mumbai floods every monsoon, disrupting traffic and daily life. BMC is studying a flyover solution after scrapping a Rs 209 crore stormwater drain plan.

Mumbai Andheri Subway Makeover: Every monsoon, people in Andheri face the same problem - the Andheri subway floods, and daily life comes to a halt. Office-goers are stuck, ambulances struggle to pass, and traffic backs up across large parts of the western suburbs. Now, the civic body is trying to find a long-term solution. Officials hope that this new plan will finally give locals relief from a problem they have lived with for years. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has appointed a consultant to study whether a flyover can be built above the Andheri subway, according to a media report. The consultant has been given three months to submit a report.

What Triggers

The flooding happens mainly because of Mogra nullah, a drain that runs close to the subway. Rainwater from a stretch of about 2.5 kilometres flows into this drain. There is a steep drop of around 13 metres, so when there is heavy rain, the water rushes down very fast.

The problem becomes worse during high tide. When the sea level rises, water in the drain also rises and has nowhere to go. As a result, the subway and nearby areas like Azad Nagar get flooded. Authorities then shut the subway for safety, which causes massive traffic jams.

To stop this from happening every year, the BMC is considering building a flyover over the subway, according to The Times of India. The feasibility study will look at:
  • Whether a flyover can actually be built there
  • How long it would be
  • The technical difficulties involved
  • How much it would cost
  • What benefits it would bring
  • What permissions are needed, including from railway authorities

If the study shows the flyover is possible, all other plans to fix the flooding will be dropped, and the flyover project will move ahead.

Rs 209 Crore Plan Scrapped

Earlier, the BMC had planned to build a new stormwater drain costing Rs 209 crore to divert water from Mogra nullah. But engineers feared that even after spending this money, the subway might still flood. Because of this risk, the plan was put on hold.

The Andheri Subway is one of the most important east–west roads in Mumbai’s western suburbs. It is close to Gokhale Bridge and Andheri railway station, and it passes under the railway tracks. When it shuts during the monsoon, the effect is felt across the city, not just in Andheri.

Bengaluru Student, 20, On Scooty Run Over While Trying To Avoid Pothole

A tipper lorry, coming from behind, ran over her, killing her on the spot. The impact was so severe that the victim's head was crushed under the wheels

Bengaluru:
In yet another pothole-related incident in Bengaluru, a 20-year-old student was killed after she came under the wheels of a tipper truck while trying to avoid a pothole in North Bengaluru's Avalahalli area on Monday.

The second-year B.Com student, identified as Dhanushree, was travelling to her college on a two-wheeler when she lost balance and fell onto the road after abruptly changing direction in an attempt to avoid a pothole near Budigere Cross. A tipper lorry, coming from behind, ran over her, killing her on the spot. The impact was so severe that the victim's head was crushed under the wheels, news agency IANS reported.

A hit-and-run case has been registered by the Avalahalli police, who are currently trying to catch the accused lorry driver, who fled without stopping after the accident. Meanwhile, the KR Puram Traffic Police, which oversees the Budigere road area, is also investigating the case.

The body of the student has been shifted to a private hospital.

This incident comes against the backdrop of a 30-day official deadline to fill all the potholes across every road in the city.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on August 27 said he has given 30 days' time to officials to make all the roads in the city motorable, with potholes filled.

The Chief Minister, who went on "city rounds", inspected the condition of roads and ongoing work to fix potholes.

"I have given instructions to fill potholes and to maintain quality in the work. I have suspended an assistant executive engineer as he had left a pothole just by filling gravel without putting tar or wet mix.

Contractors have to maintain the roads for which white topping is being done. White topping is being done for Hennur road, for which Rs 13 crore per km is being spent; it is a 5 km road project," Siddaramiah said.

He warned that the Commissioners and Chief Engineers of the five city corporations will be held responsible in case of any lapses.

The outrage against the condition of roads gained momentum following online trucking platform BlackBuck's decision to move the company out of its current location at Bellandur on Bengaluru's Outer Ring Road (ORR), citing commuting and road infrastructure issues.

Several prominent people, including IT veterans like former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai and Biocon Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, have recently urged the state government to immediately intervene.

Stating that one cannot deny the pothole issue, the Chief Minister, while responding to a question, had said, "I don't want to blame the BJP, but they did not fill the potholes while in power; if they had done it, such a situation wouldn't have arisen. They didn't even release any funds for the maintenance of roads...leave it, we are in power now, we will ensure that the potholes are filled."

A key airport access route used by thousands of residents living in Whitefield, KR Puram, and Hoskote, Budigere Cross road has often drawn widespread criticism due to its dilapidated condition. It is considered one of the most time-efficient routes to reach the Kempegowda International Airport. However, its current state - with potholes filled with soil and jelly stones scattered across the stretch, making commuting particularly dangerous for two-wheeler riders.

CM's Order, PCR Call, Endless Follow-Ups’: How a Delhi Activist Got an Open Manhole Fixed

Akash Cyclewalla Lajpat Nagar Video: Civic negligence in Delhi-NCR persists as open pits and manholes claim lives, including a toddler in Greater Noida and professionals in Delhi and Noida, despite viral public outcries and recent repairs.

Akash Cyclewalla Lajpat Nagar Video: Civic authorities in Delhi-NCR are facing criticism for alleged inaction on open drains and manholes, which not only pose dangers but have already caused fatalities. The deaths of Yuvraj Mehta in Noida’s Sector 105 and Kamal Dhyani in Delhi’s Rohini sparked public outrage, even after a few junior officials were suspended. Yet, the problem persists. A Delhi-based activist, Akash Cyclewalla, shared a video from Lajpat Nagar showing an open manhole where something seemed stuck inside. Despite informing the authorities, no action was taken at the time and he had to leave after waiting for nearly an hour.
The footage showed rickshaws, bikes, cars, and pedestrians navigating the stretch carefully, avoiding the open manhole to ensure their own safety.

Akash shared the video on Instagram, writing: "Most government departments and their negligent or corrupt officers are rarely held accountable for deaths caused by their carelessness. They have become accustomed to killing us repeatedly. @delhi.police_official, @delhijalboard, @official_dda_ @mcd_delhi, and others simply do not learn from their mistakes."

He noted the video was shot at Lajpat Nagar-1, near the Railway Crossing Bridge, opposite Singh Wok and Sarkari Theka, on 12 February 2026 between 9 and 10 pm. He added that he left after more than half an hour because the authorities, who had promised immediate help, did not respond. The video concluded with the manhole still open.

Manhole is Fixed

However, days later, the manhole was eventually fixed after Chief Minister Rekha Gupta took note of the viral video. In a follow-up video, Akash showed the repaired manhole and shared the Chief Minister’s response.

Greater Noida on Monday reported a similar incident. Police said a three-year-old boy died after falling into a deep water-filled pit on Saturday in Dalelgarh village, under the Dankaur police station area of Greater Noida. The incident triggered a situation of chaos as villagers protested in the area, alleging that they had been submitting complaints to the authorities to fix the pit. However, their voices fell on deaf ears.
Yuvraj Mehta, a 27-year-old software engineer, died on January 17, 2026, after his car plunged into a 30-foot-deep, water-filled construction pit in Noida’s Sector 150. On February 5, 2026, 25-year-old bank employee Kamal Dhyani lost his life in Delhi’s Janakpuri after his motorcycle fell into a 15-foot-deep, unguarded sewer pit dug by the Delhi Jal Board.

A Manchester Dream Cut Short In Delhi: The Life And Loss Of Sahil Dhaneshra

Sahil Dhaneshra was on his way to the office on February 3 when a speeding Scorpio driven allegedly by a teenager rammed his motorcycle in Dwarka. He was 23.

New Delhi:
In a few months from now, he was set to fly to his dream college in Manchester. A horrific road accident in Delhi snatched it all away.

Sahil Dhaneshra was on his way to the office on February 3 when a speeding Scorpio driven allegedly by a teenager rammed his motorcycle in Dwarka. He was 23.

Childhood photographs, medals hanging from colourful ribbons line the walls of his room. Quotes like 'D for Dream and Discipline' and 'Obsession is going to beat talent every time' - pasted on the walls - paint a picture of the future that could have been.

A final-semester BBA student, Sahil had secured admission for an MSc in Luxury Fashion Management in the UK. He had already received his acceptance letter and was preparing for the move.

"He did everything on his own. I had no knowledge about any of this. He would tell me he would manage it himself and figure things out, and I would encourage him," Sahil's mother, Inna Maakan, told news agency PTI.

According to his mother, he had planned everything to ensure his studies abroad did not become a financial burden on her.

"He had maintained a good CIBIL score and had carefully worked out every detail to secure an education loan for his Master's course," said his mother, a single parent, who now says she plans to wind up her real-estate business to focus on getting justice for her son.

Sahil lost his father in 2018. However, his mother, Inna, said he had never supported them in any way.

She added that Sahil had briefly reconnected with his father about a year or two before he died in 2018. The family has been living in Dwarka since 2013.

The accused, a 17-year-old boy, was driving an SUV, with his sister next to him when the vehicle collided head-on with Sahil's motorcycle, killing him on the spot.

In a voice choked with grief and anger, Sahil's mother said that a "fun reel" - a reckless stunt for social media fame - has crushed not just her 23-year-old son but all the dreams that she had built around him.

The accused, who did not possess a driving licence, was detained and produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), which sent him to an observation home.

On February 10, the Board granted him interim bail, citing his ongoing Class 10 board examinations, police said.

The teenager's father, however, said he was not in Delhi at the time of the accident and was unaware that his minor son was driving the car without a licence. "My son had stepped out with his sister to drop her at the metro station," he said.

"There is a college right in front of our main gate, so the area is usually very crowded," he added. According to him, his son attempted to pass between a bus and a motorcycle but was unable to negotiate the turn properly.

"I am also a parent. It was a mistake. I am very, very sorry," the father, who spoke in Hindi, told NDTV in an interview.

Responding to the teen's father's interview, the victim's mother replied: "The father of the accused is sorry for what? For finishing my life? Sorry after I spoke on the media? I say sorry for not accepting his sorry," she told NDTV amid nationwide outrage of yet another instance of underage driving claiming a life.

Goa Thar Crash Accused's Mom: "Son Wasn't Drunk, Man Who Died Had Heart Attack"

The man who died was 65-year-old Bhagat Ram, a tourist from Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal and was travelling with members of his family in the i20 hatchback, which was also a rented vehicle.

New Delhi:
The mother of Shaurya Goyal - the 19-year-old accused of driving the rented Mahindra Thar that rammed a Hyundai i20 in Goa - has claimed the man who died did so because of a heart attack.

Shilpi Goyal also claimed the ambulance being delayed by 45 minutes contributed to the death.

She also argued Shaurya - who lives in Delhi's Hauz Khas neighbourhood, sources close to the investigation told NDTV - deserved credit for not trying to escape responsibility.

"My son went to Goa with his school friends and I was fully aware of it (i.e., his trip). (After the accident) he cooperated with the police investigation and is out on bail," Goyal told NDTV.

"My son was not drunk. A breathalyser test was done and my son was found negative," she also said, arguing the boy had been "deeply traumatised" by the "very unfortunate" incident.

"We have sent him to the counsellor," she said.

The tragic incident took place Monday, police have said.

Shaurya Goyal has been arrested.

The man who died was 65-year-old Bhagat Ram, a tourist from Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal and was travelling with members of his family in the i20 hatchback, which was also a rented vehicle.

Two other people in the car received medical aid for minor injuries.

Miraculously a baby, just five months old, escaped unharmed.

Eyewitnesses alleged occupants of the Thar tried to switch seats after the collision.

Videos shared online showed a male occupant of the Thar on the phone after the accident.

He seemed to be saying "Papa, I was at the intersection..." before the voice fades. Three women can be seen in the rear seats of the damaged vehicle. Locals who witnessed the crash have claimed the Thar's occupants tried to shield the driver - allegedly a woman - from responsibility.

Man Named In Goa Thar Crash Case, Local Claims A Woman Was Driving ItShaurya Goyal, a 19-year-old from Delhi, has been named as an accused in Goa road accident, killing a 65-year-old man.

Assagao:
Shaurya Goyal, a 19-year-old from Hauz Khas in Delhi, was behind the wheel of the Mahindra Thar that rammed a Hyundai i20 in Goa, killing an elderly man, the First Information Report (FIR) states. A copy of the FIR accessed by NDTV names Goyal as the prime accused in the road rage case. However, an eyewitness has alleged that occupants of the Thar attempted to switch seats immediately after the collision.

What FIR Says

According to the FIR, the accused was driving a rented Mahindra Thar with the number 'GA-03-V-5695'. In the post-accident video, a woman sitting next to Shaurya is seen hiding her face while Shaurya dials his father and steps out of the car. At least three more women are visible in the rear seats of the SUV.

Shaurya was driving from Mapusa to Anjuna in a "rash and negligent manner without proper care and caution endangering human life." When the SUV reached the junction near Happy Bar in Assagao, the driver allegedly lost control of his vehicle and rammed a Hyundai i20 bearing registration number 'GA-08-AB-6685'.

The victim, identified as 65-year-old Bhagat Ram, a resident of Bhopal, was driving from Assagao to the Parra village side via the junction.

Both vehicles suffered severe damage. The video shows the i20 crushed from the left side while the hatchback was completely damaged from the front.

Ram was rushed to the District Hospital Mapusa where he was declared brought dead. Two other passengers travelling with Ram, including a five-month-old infant, sustained minor injuries.

Local Allege Seat Swap

According to an eyewitness, a woman had been driving the car and an attempt has been made to safeguard her.

"First a girl was driving, then the driver was changed. Senior citizens are serious. This car was coming from Mapusa and the people were from Vinayak," an eyewitness said.

The claim could complicate the investigation if substantiated.

Videos circulating online show one male occupant of the Thar speaking on the phone, with the words "Papa, I was at the intersection..." audible before his voice fades.

Police Action

Police have seized the rented vehicle and registered a case of rash and negligent driving causing death. Allegations of a 'driver switch' are being investigated.

Cops are considering forensic evidence, eyewitness statements and video footage to establish the full circumstances of the collision.

Shaurya Goyal was arrested earlier today and got a bail within an hour.

CCTV Shows Moment 4-Crore Ferrari Jumps Divider, Rams Car In Hyderabad

Three people were injured in the incident that took place on Road 45, a busy stretch near Tollywood actor and Telugu Desam Party MLA Balakrishna's home.

Hyderabad:
CCTV footage from Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills showed the exact moment a Ferrari luxury sportscar lost control at high speeds on a main road, hit the divider, and rammed a car coming from the opposite direction.

Three people were injured in the incident that took place on Road 45, a busy stretch near Tollywood actor and Telugu Desam Party MLA Balakrishna's home.

The Ferrari, worth an estimated Rs 4 crore, was registered to a E Venkata Raja Reddy.

Five seconds into the three-minute CCTV clip all is normal on Road 45.

A second later, at 10:32.16, a bright red Ferrari shoots out of the left-hand side of the screen, jumps over the divider, and slams into a grey hatchback on the other side of the road.

Both vehicles were wrecked; the hatchback more so, with its front end wiped off and the shell literally thrown six feet to the right. A third car, also a hatchback, traveling behind the first, was involved too, as was a two-wheeler that went flying after it was hit by the grey car.

Seconds later a man in a white shirt climbs out of the Ferrari and holds his hands up, in an apparent apology. He then rushes around the Ferrari to talk to someone else still in the car.

Eyewitnesses, recovering quickly from the shock, then swarmed around the accident site trying to help the injured. Three people were admitted to a nearby private hospital.

Police filed a case based on their complaints and confirmed the driver of the Ferrari was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Identified as Kranthi Reddy, he claimed the accident was due to a brake failure and steering lock that meant he lost control of the car.

Road Transport Authority officials are expected to inspect the car to determine if the crash was caused, as the driver, claimed, by a mechanical problem

Maharashtra Transporters Strike: Trucks, Buses, Autos Plan Indefinite Chakka Jam From Tomorrow Over ‘Unjust’ E-Challans

Transporters across Maharashtra announced an indefinite strike from Thursday midnight over alleged misuse of the e-challan system and unfair penalties. Trucks, buses, taxis and autos may halt if the government fails to resolve concerns.

Mumbai: Transport unions across Maharashtra have announced an indefinite strike from Thursday midnight. Trucks, tempos, tourist and school buses, taxis, private cabs and autorickshaws are expected to join the protest. The strike has been called over complaints about the e-challan system, which transporters say is being misused and leading to unfair penalties.
Talks between transport unions and transport commissioner Rajesh Narvekar on Wednesday evening failed to resolve the issue.
"We will go ahead with the indefinite protest," a TOI report cited Malik Patel of the Maharashtra Transport Action Committee.
The Western India Automobile Association, which represents around 80,000 private car owners, has also supported the strike. WIAA chairman Nitin Dossa said private vehicle owners were also facing problems with e-challans.

School buses will run on Thursday morning but may stop services from Friday.
"School buses will be available on Thursday morning, but will go off the roads from Friday," warned Anil Garg from the School Bus Owners Association.
Taxi and auto unions have also expressed support for the protest.
Taxi union leader D A Salian said many cab drivers will join the strike because they feel the fines under the e-challan system are unfair.

Mumbai Rickshawmen's Union leader Thampy Kurien told the outlet that auto drivers in the suburbs will also take part in the strike.

Transport leaders said the movement of trucks, buses and taxis could start getting affected from Thursday morning itself.
"At noon on Thursday, transporters will all gather at Azad Maidan to protest. Vehicles will also start coming to the maidan. Till Thursday evening, if no decision is taken by the government, we will observe an indefinite chakka jam across the state," said Bal Malkit Singh from the transporters' association.

The issue was also raised in the state assembly. MLA Amin Patel asked the government to step in and solve the problem.
He said around Rs 3,500 crore worth of e-challans are pending for commercial vehicles, and claimed that some vehicles received multiple challans for the same offence.

State transport minister Pratap Sarnaik said he agreed in principle with the concerns raised by transporters and asked officials to study the legal aspects of the issue.

Officials also asked unions to give the government more time because of the upcoming state budget and tensions related to the Iran–Israel conflict.

However, transporters said they had already waited long enough.
"We gave them enough time. A govt-appointed committee submitted recommendations on the e-challan issue in December, but none were implemented till date," Singh said.

Transporters say they face harassment from field officers, forced vehicle stoppages to recover fines, multiple challans issued in a single day, and penalties for no-parking even when proper parking facilities are not available.

"Ring Roads A Big Flop": Supreme Court Hikes Entry Fee For Trucks In Delhi

The move aims to restore the "deterrent effect" of the charge and discourage heavy commercial vehicles from passing through the national capital.

"Ring Roads A Big Flop": Supreme Court Hikes Entry Fee For Trucks In Delhi

The move aims to restore the "deterrent effect" of the charge and discourage heavy commercial vehicles from passing through the national capital.

New Delhi:
Heavy and light commercial vehicles, including trucks, vans and dumpers, entering Delhi will have to pay higher Environment Compensation Charges (ECC) from April 1 after the Supreme Court approved a proposal by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to enhance the levy. The move aims to restore the "deterrent effect" of the charge and discourage heavy commercial vehicles from passing through the national capital.

A bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M. Pancholi approved CAQM's proposal to increase ECC for light commercial vehicles and two-axle trucks from Rs 1,400 to Rs 2,000. For three-axle trucks and vehicles with four or more axles, the charge will rise from Rs 2,600 to Rs 4,000. The revised rates will come into effect from April 1, 2026.

CJI Surya Kant, during a discussion on Delhi's traffic, remarked that the "concept of ring roads has become a complete failure. Big flop. In this court I argued in 2002 don't go for ring roads. I said it will be a failure, but I wasn't heard properly."

ASG Aishwarya Bhati at this point remarked, "Now your Lordship can rectify it."

The bench described the increase as "reasonable" and consistent with the court's original intent when the charge was introduced in 2015 to curb pollution in the capital. The court also approved the commission's proposal for a 5% annual increase in ECC rates, directing that the escalation will begin on April 1, 2027.

Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati appeared for CAQM, while senior advocate Aparajita Singh assisted the court as amicus curiae in the long-running environmental litigation.

The top court said the revised rates should act as a deterrent for heavy goods carriers and container trucks using Delhi as a transit route, encouraging them instead to take the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) or Western Peripheral Expressway (WPE) for onwards travel.

CAQM told the court that ECC rates had remained unchanged since 2015, while toll charges on the peripheral expressways have been periodically increased under the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008.

As a result, the cost difference between travelling through Delhi and using the expressways had reduced, making it economically viable for freight vehicles to continue passing through the capital.

According to the commission, this has contributed to traffic congestion and increased emissions of particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) in Delhi.

The Environment Compensation Charge was first introduced by the Supreme Court in October 2015 in the MC Mehta vs Union of India case as part of a series of measures to address Delhi's severe air pollution.

At the time, the court had noted that although alternative routes existed, many commercial vehicles entered Delhi to avoid paying higher tolls on peripheral highways, adding to pollution levels in the city.

The court had directed that ECC be imposed on light and heavy commercial vehicles entering Delhi, with the funds collected to be used to augment public transport and improve road infrastructure, particularly for vulnerable road users such as cyclists and pedestrians.

In its affidavit, CAQM said the current ECC rates had lost their deterrent value due to inflation, rising vehicle operating costs, and higher toll charges on alternative routes. A comparative assessment of travel costs showed that the difference between using the peripheral expressways and travelling through Delhi was no longer significant enough to discourage transit traffic.

The commission therefore recommended revising ECC to Rs 2,000 for category 2 and 3 vehicles (light commercial vehicles and two-axle trucks) and Rs 4,000 for category 4 and 5 vehicles (three-axle trucks and vehicles with four or more axles).

CAQM also proposed a 5% annual increase in the charge, broadly in line with the average annual rise in toll rates on national highways, which it estimated at about 4.8% compounded growth since 2018. The revised charges, it said, would help restore the original deterrence value of ECC and create a stronger economic incentive for non-destination freight traffic to bypass Delhi.

To improve compliance and reduce congestion at toll points, the commission also proposed technological measures. It recommended that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) install a barrier-free Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) toll collection system integrated with RFID and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology at all 126 toll collection points by October 2026. Such systems would allow seamless toll and ECC collection without requiring vehicles to stop, reducing congestion at Delhi's border entry points.

Witnesses helped transport her to the hospital, where timely medical care was crucial for her recovery.

Mumbai: A 35-year-old woman was seriously injured after a speeding SUV hit her from behind and dragged her for nearly 50 metres in a residential area of Navi Mumbai on Friday evening. The vehicle then crashed into several parked vehicles along the roadside, police said. The incident took place in Artist Village in Sector 8 of CBD Belapur at around 5.30 pm. CCTV cameras in the area captured the accident.

According to police, the woman was walking close to the pavement when the SUV struck her from behind. After hitting her, the vehicle dragged her for nearly 50 metres before crashing into six parked vehicles — four cars, one auto-rickshaw and a sports bike.

Local residents rushed to help the injured woman and took her to a hospital within the golden hour. Doctors later said that timely treatment helped save her life. She is currently conscious and recovering.

Based on a complaint filed by Archies Sawant (32), a resident whose sports bike was damaged in the crash, an FIR was registered at CBD Belapur Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act. The charges include reckless or negligent driving endangering life, causing damage to property and dangerous driving on public roads.

Police said the SUV driver was accompanied by his friend, who works as a private chauffeur for the vehicle’s owner. He has also been named as an accused in the case.
Arun Pawar, senior inspector of CBD Belapur Police Station, said the SUV was being driven by Vikram Gangadhar Kamble (19), while Akash Chandrakant Kamble (26) was travelling with him. Both are distant relatives.
Before police arrived at the accident spot, passers-by and residents had already taken the injured woman to MGM Hospital in CBD-Belapur.

The injured woman was later identified as Mohini Shinde, who lives in a slum settlement near Artist Village. Police said she works as a housemaid in several flats in the locality. She suffered serious head injuries along with bruises on her face and knees.

SPI Pawar said locals noticed that both the driver and his companion appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and detained them until police arrived.
“Their medical test was done at NMMC Hospital, Nerul. While medical report of SUV chauffeur Akash confirmed alcohol consumption, the report of SUV driver Vikram is awaited. Once confirmed, we will invoke MV Act Section 185 for drunk driving,” said Pawar.

Police said the victim belongs to a financially weak family and her treatment costs are likely to be high. She is currently undergoing treatment at MGM Hospital, which provides charitable medical care.
Authorities also served notices to the two accused under the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), directing them to cooperate with the police investigation and appear before authorities whenever required during the inquiry and court proceedings.

VIDEO: How Long Can Bihar's Vikramshila Setu Hold? A Damaged Pillar, Millions at Risk

Bihar Vikramshila Setu: Bihar's infrastructure issues are highlighted by recent concerns over the Vikramshila Setu bridge in Bhagalpur, which is pivotal for eastern Bihar commuters.

Bihar Vikramshila Setu: Bihar has long featured in TV news debates and social media memes for its crumbling infrastructure. Two years ago, a bridge that led to nowhere went viral on the internet as it stood in the middle of an open field in Araria district, built at the cost of Rs 3 Crore. The dangerous part is not the money spent, but the safety of commuters. Recently, a video surfaced of Vikramshila Setu in the state's Bhagalpur in a dangerous state. DM Dr Naval Kishore Choudhary also spoke about the issues, saying that an inquiry will be launched soon.

The bridge facilitates millions of people in eastern Bihar, and at the time the viral video was shot, people were still using the stretch. This highlights both the urgent need for repairs and the bridge's critical importance.

What Is The Issue?

As shown in the video, a portion of one of the pillars, which appears to be located in the middle of the entire bridge, is damaged. The pillar standing midstream is at grave risk of collapsing if the water current in the river increases. The fall could take down several lives as the bridge is currently operational.

Addressing that, the DM of Bhagalpur assured of an inquiry, saying that they would temporarily stop the use of the bridge if required. "We will inquire about the issue and whatever action needed following the inquiry will be taken after consulting the concerned department. We will also call the expert team and take further action on their recommendations," he told reporters.

Bihar Will Get a B-Grade Train So You Can Migrate to Other States'

When RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha was informed about the deteriorating state of Vikramshila Setu, he pointed to the absence of serious debate on Bihar's crumbling infrastructure. He warned that until that changes, people will be left with no choice but to migrate to other states in search of better opportunities.
"Let's make a list of how many bridges have collapsed in the last few years... Actually, the bridge didn't collapse... this is corruption, and no one will discuss it... If we were in government, it would have become a topic of debate 24/7. This is the difference, and until this difference is erased, Bihar will always get a train in its share, so people can take it and migrate to another state," he told a reporter.

Why is Vikramshila Setu Crucial?

It is a bridge that connects two important highways, NH-80 near Bhagalpur and NH-31 near Naugachia in Bihar. It serves as a major corridor that trucks and vehicles use to travel from Jharkhand all the way to Assam and the northeastern states.

Video Shows UP Elderly Woman Crushed to Death by Grandson's Thar While Helping Him Park

An elderly woman tragically lost her life in Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh, when a Thar SUV rolled backwards and struck her while she was assisting her grandson with parking. CCTV footage captured the moment the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to accelerate down the slope.

An elderly woman died in a tragic accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Farrukhabad after a Thar SUV rolled backwards and hit her outside her house. The incident was captured on CCTV and the video is now circulating on social media. According to information, the woman was helping her grandson park the car inside their house. After the vehicle was taken in, she moved towards the gate to close it. CCTV footage shows that as the gate was being shut, the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The Thar started moving backwards, possibly due to a slope at the entrance, which made the vehicle gain speed. The woman tried to alert others and shouted for help, but the car quickly rolled back towards her, according to NDTV report.

Crushed Against Wall

The SUV hit the woman and pinned her against a boundary wall across the road. The impact was severe. Hearing the noise, family members rushed to the spot and tried to rescue her. However, she had suffered serious injuries and died on the spot.

No Police Case Filed
As the accident involved a family member, no legal complaint has been filed so far. The incident has shocked locals, and the CCTV video has gone viral, raising concerns about safety during parking on sloped driveways.

The incident came just week after, a late-night drive turned deadly in Gurugram’s Pataudi as a speeding Mahindra Thar ploughed into a grandfather and his two young grandsons, killing all three in a crash that has triggered outrage over reckless driving. Zayed Khan and Ishant, aged eight and 10, died on the spot, while their maternal grandfather, 53-year-old Subhash, succumbed in a hospital.
The deceased hailed from Milkpur village in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. According to the police, Subhash had come to Lokra Road near Khod village to visit his brothers with his two grandsons. Around 11 pm on Friday, when he was returning home with the two boys, a Mahindra Thar allegedly struck them from behind, throwing them several feet away from the point of impact, the police said.

Mumbai's GMLR Site on Film City Road 'Not Safe' - Know What's Wrong

Mumbai GMLR Project: The Goregaon-Mulund Link Road construction site in Mumbai has raised serious safety concerns at a BMC meeting, regarding the inadequate safety measures for both workers and pedestrians.

Mumbai GMLR Project: The Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) construction site on Film City Road poses a serious danger to human lives. The absence of basic safety measures at the active construction site puts both passersby and on-site workers at significant risk. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator Priti Satam raised the matter at a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) standing committee meeting and pressed the committee with a pointed question - should an accident occur at the site under these conditions, what action would BMC take against the contractor and the officials responsible?

Satam pointed out several worrying problems at the site. The large girders that workers have erected have no safety measures around them whatsoever. Workers and contractors have dumped debris at multiple locations across the site, leaving the area in a disorganised and hazardous state. Open ditches filled with stagnant water sit without proper barricading around them, putting both passers-by and on-site workers at serious risk of injury - and the standing water itself poses a health hazard. On top of all this, the contractor has not deployed any anti-pollution misting units to control dust, and there is no traffic warden present to manage the movement of vehicles and pedestrians near the site, reported The Times of India.

Contractor Already Penalised for Other Issues

Civic officials responded by noting that BMC has already imposed a total penalty of Rs 3 crore on the contractor to date. This includes a Rs 50 lakh fine that BMC slapped on the contractor in March for delays in constructing the flyover between Dindoshi Court and Dadasaheb Film City, which forms part of the broader GMLR project.

Additional Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar assured the committee that BMC would treat all safety-related issues with the seriousness they deserve and would take the necessary action. He also confirmed that officials would look into and address the other concerns that Satam had raised.

GMLR Progress So Far

The GMLR project is planned across four phases. Phase 3 (A) covers the construction of a flyover and an elevated rotary. Work is currently underway on a nearly 1.3-kilometre flyover stretching between Dindoshi and Goregaon, and BMC expects to open it to traffic by May 31.
The episode has once again drawn public attention to the need for stricter oversight of infrastructure projects in the city, where safety standards at construction sites are often found wanting.

Bengaluru Driver Dies as Andhra Lorry Blindly-Following Google Maps Rams Into Vehicle, Drags It 100 Metres

A tragic accident occurred when a lorry, overloaded with steel rods, lost control and crashed into a parked car, killing 23-year-old Ambadas, who was resting in his vehicle while awaiting a trip.

Bengaluru News: A 23-year-old driver was charred to death after a lorry, allegedly overloaded with steel rods, lost control while navigating through a slope here and crashed into a parked car in the wee hours of Friday, police said. The deceased, identified as Ambadas from Kalaburagi, was taking a quick nap inside his vehicle. He was apparently waiting for a trip through an aggregator app, at the time of the incident, which occurred around 1.15 am near Kurubarahalli, they said.
Citing preliminary investigation, a senior police officer said that the lorry was travelling from Andhra Pradesh towards Sunkadakatte in West Bengaluru. The driver, reportedly following a route suggested by Google Maps, took a narrow road with a steep incline. Due to the heavy load, he lost control of the vehicle, which rammed into the parked car.

The force of the collision dragged the car for nearly 100 metres before the lorry crashed into a scrap godown, he said. Police suspect that the impact triggered the car's CNG kit, causing a massive fire. Ambadas got trapped inside the vehicle and was burnt to death, while the lorry driver escaped with injuries.

The injured driver has been admitted to a hospital and is undergoing treatment, the officer said. A case of causing death by negligence has been registered at Rajajinagar traffic police station against the lorry driver under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is underway, police said.

Horrific Car Accident in UP

In the past 24 hours, a similar incident was reported from Uttar Pradesh. A pickup truck carrying devotees rammed into a stationary trailer truck on a national highway in Kaushambi district on Friday, killing five women and three children, police said. The accident took place near Doroma petrol pump under the Saini police station area around 4 pm.
The pickup vehicle, en route to Fatehpur from Prayagraj, crashed into a trailer parked on the roadside, a local police official said. The victims, residents of the Jahanabad-Bindki area in Fatehpur district, were returning home after visiting the 'Maa Sheetla' shrine at Kada Dham. They had earlier travelled to Prayagraj to attend a child's tonsure ceremony, the police said.
Around two dozen devotees, including women and children, were travelling in the pickup truck at the time of the incident, the official added.
