Rather than attacking @finalfantasy7, why don't you acknowledge India's poor infrastructures and the need to make it better? :inti

This is a common issue with many Indians. When a problem is highlighted, they attack the person instead of acknowledging/fixing the problem.

Good roads can up accident rate: BJP MP Konda

Addressing a press conference at the BJP state office in Hyderabad, Vishweshwar Reddy alleged that the mishap was a result of poor planning and negligence during the BRS regime.

HYDERABAD: BJP senior leader and Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy on Tuesday held the previous BRS government responsible for Monday’s accident in which 19 people died when a tipper rammed a TGSRTC bus.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP state office in Hyderabad, Vishweshwar Reddy alleged that the mishap was a result of poor planning and negligence during the BRS regime.

“If roads are bad, vehicles move slowly and accidents are less likely. But when roads are good and sharp, the chances of major accidents increase,” he remarked.

He said the Bijapur National Highway, announced in 2016, was delayed as the then BRS government failed to complete land acquisition, allegedly due to its focus on real estate interests. “The bus accident is a direct consequence of the BRS government’s negligence. It bears 100% responsibility,” the MP stated, accusing the previous regime of prioritising real estate gains over public safety.

Vishweshwar Reddy said he had written several letters to the previous BRS government, raising concerns about road safety, and has now requested the Union government to construct the highway in a straight alignment instead of multiple curves.

Multiple Vehicles Collide On Noida Expressway Due To Dense Fog, Many Injured

The accident took place on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, a 135 km long, six-lane wide expressway passing through the Haryana and Uttar Pradesh

Noida:
Over a dozen vehicles, including cars and trucks, collided on the Noida Expressway amid the dense fog in Delhi-NCR on Saturday morning. The accident led to a long traffic jam on the expressway and left several people injured.

The accident took place on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway or the Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressway, a 135 km long, six-lane wide expressway passing through the states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

Visuals from the accident site show a white car that had climbed onto the divider with its bonnet severely damaged. A truck stands adjacent to it. Another car is seen stuck under a truck. Vehicles appear to have rammed into one another owing to reduced visibility amid thick smog.

The police and toll management personnel are involved in clearing the damaged vehicles with the help of cranes. Responding to the video, the Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida) Police Commissioner office said that the cops are present at the scene and an investigation is underway.

"In the said case, the police force is present at the scene, and necessary actions are being taken," the Police Commissionerate wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Details about the exact number of vehicles and people affected by the accident are awaited.

Residents of Delhi-NCR woke up to a thick layer of smog, resulting in reduced visibility on the roads. Noida Sector-125, which is closer to the expressway, recorded Air Quality Index (AQI) of 449, falling under the 'severe' category at 12 noon, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Gautam Buddh Nagar Traffic Police Issues Guidelines

In view of the dense smog covering Delhi-NCR, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Traffic Police has issued speed guidelines. On the Yamuna Expressway, the speed limit for light vehicles has been set at 75 km/hour, and for heavy vehicles, it is 60 km/hour.

Speed limits have also been set on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway: 75 km/hour for light vehicles and 50 km/hour for heavy vehicles.

Speed limits on the Noida elevated road are set at 50 km/hour for light vehicles and 40 km/hour for heavy vehicles.

India's deadly train crash renews questions over safety as government pushes railway upgrade

India’s prime minister had been scheduled to inaugurate an electrical semi-high-speed train equipped with a safety feature _ another step in the modernization of an antiquated railway that is the lifeline of the world’s most populous natio

India’s prime minister had been scheduled to inaugurate an electrical semi-high-speed train equipped with a safety feature — another step in the modernization of an antiquated railway that is the lifeline of the world's most populous nation.

Instead on Saturday, Narendra Modi traveled to eastern Odisha state to deal with one of the country's worst train disasters that left over 280 dead and hundreds injured. The massive derailment on Friday night involving two passenger trains is a stark reminder of safety issues that continue to challenge the vast railway system that transports nearly 22 million passengers each day.

India, a country of 1.42 billion people, has one of the world’s most extensive and complicated railways built during the British colonial era: more than 40,000 miles (64,000 kilometers) of tracks, 14,000 passenger trains and 8,000 stations. Spread across the country from the Himalayas in the north to the beaches in the south, it is also a system that is weakened by decades of mismanagement and neglect. Despite efforts to improve safety, several hundred accidents happen every year.

From 2017 to 2021, there were more than 100,000 train-related deaths in India, according to a 2022 report published by the National Crime Records Bureau. That figure includes cases in which passengers fell from the trains, collisions, and people being mowed by speeding trains on the tracks.

Official data also suggests derailments are the most common form of rail accidents in India, but have been on a decline in recent years.

According to India’s Comptroller and Auditor General, Indian Railways recorded 2,017 accidents from 2017 to 2021. Derailments accounted for 69% of the accidents, resulting in 293 deaths.

The report found multiple factors including track defects, maintenance issues, outdated signaling equipment, and human errors as main causes of the derailments. It also said lack of money or non-utilization of available funds for track restorations led to 26% of the accidents.

Even though the railway safety in India has improved compared to earlier years when serious crashes and accidents near unmanned crossings were more frequent, scores have still died and hundreds have been injured.

In 2016, a passenger train slid off the tracks between the cities of Indore and Patna, killing 146 people. A year later, a derailment in southern India killed at least 36 passengers.

The Modi government, in power for nine years, has invested tens of billions of dollars in the railways. The money has been spent on renovating or replacing the old tracks laid by the British in the 19th century, introducing new trains and removing thousands of unmanned railway crossings.

The train Modi was supposed to inaugurate Saturday was India’s 19th Vande Bharat Express, connecting the western city of Mumbai and the southern state of Goa.

The modern trains are designed to help reduce the risk of crashes and derailments. They will be paired with a countrywide automatic train collision protection system, a technology that will make travel safe, according to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

But the system was not yet installed on the track where Friday’s crash took place. It wasn't clear what caused the trains to derail and an investigation has started.

Experts suggest that the country’s railway system needs to prioritize safe tracks and collision protection.

“India has achieved some success in making train journeys safer over the years, but a lot more needs to be done. The entire system needs a realignment and distributed development. We can't just focus on modern trains and have tracks that aren't safe,” said Swapnil Garg, a former officer of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers.

At least 25 killed as bus bursts into flames after crash with motorbike in India

Some managed to break windows and leap to safety with minor injuries, while others were charred to death.

A passenger bus burst into flames after a motorbike crashed into it, killing at least 25 people and injuring several others in southern India.

A fire ripped through the bus within minutes early on Friday, trapping dozens of passengers as it sped along a highway near Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh state.

Some people managed to break windows, leaping to safety with minor injuries, while others were charred to death, senior police official Vikrant Patil said.

There were 44 passengers on board, most of whom were asleep at the time of the crash.

The bus was gutted and the unidentified bike rider also died, Mr Patil said.

The accident occurred in Chinnatekuru village near Kurnool, around 130 miles (210 kilometres) south of Hyderabad.

The bus was travelling between the cities of Hyderabad in Telangana state and Bengaluru in Karnataka state.

The motorbike rammed into the speeding bus from behind and became stuck, Mr Patil said. It was dragged for some distance, causing sparks that engulfed the bus's fuel tank.

"As the smoke started spreading, the driver stopped the bus and tried to put the fire out by using a fire extinguisher, but the fire was so intense he couldn't control it," Mr Patil said.

A team of forensic experts was investigating the incident.

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has offered his condolences to the bereaved families.

Why have we missed this great opportunity? I have a brilliant, out of the box idea! Gurgaon should be promoted as tourist destination in monsoons. Traffic jam at your door step. Adventure on the roads. Animals in the streets. Liquor shops at every nook and corner. No negative comments please.

Supreme Court raises concerns about highways becoming death traps during winter

“The affidavit blamed local and police administrations, while the Court did not want to treat the case suo motu as an adverse litigation, but only wanted solutions to the problem,” says Justice Maheshwari

The Supreme Court on Monday (December 15, 2025) drew the attention of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to the fact that the dark months of winter, lack of streetlights along long stretches, and vehicles parked haphazardly along the tarmac invite tragedy and loss of lives, like in the recent horrific accidents on highways in Telangana and Rajasthan claiming nearly 40 lives, many of them children.
Bench of Justices J.K. Maheshwari and Vijay Bishnoi did not appear happy with an affidavit filed by the NHAI in response to the Court’s questions about why Indian roads continue to be such killers. Justice Maheshwari said that the affidavit blamed the local and police administrations, while the Court did not want to treat the suo motu case as an adverse litigation, but only wanted solutions to the problem.

Heavy traffic in India is getting discussed on PP. Truly, PPers are struggling for discussion points

How fascinating😂😂

You must be an Indian. Else, how are you getting these articles on your feed??
Basically i have to cach the bus to to work, as not enought car parking, i read a lot of news in the mornings and lunch break where i walk around for 45mins - both occasions i just read news, as i have a android phone, previously ive been reading some indian articles and hence my phone keeps sending me indian articles - based on my previous reading algorithms - so i save the articles i think people on pp would be interested in, then list these articles when im back at home generally in the evening time.

So as google employs mainly indian employees - aka the yardees - as you know, are generally paid for a fake $50 degree to get these jobs - its not my fault that my phone algorithm is like this - blame the indians, not me

28 Students Injured After School Bus Plunges From Bridge In Madhya Pradesh

At least 28 children were injured in the accident, with the condition of four to five students reported to be serious.

Bhopal:
A school picnic turned into a terrifying ordeal on Sunday morning when a bus carrying students and staff from Higher Secondary School, Bahadurpur, fell from a 12-foot-high bridge over the Sagad River in Madhya Pradesh's Vidisha district. At least 28 children were injured in the accident, with the condition of four to five students reported to be serious.

The bus was carrying approximately 45 students on a picnic trip to Sanchi. The students had left the school premises at about 8:00 AM, and the accident occurred at approximately 10:30 AM in the Nateran police station area, nearly 80 kilometers from Bahadurpur.

Eyewitness accounts and a preliminary investigation suggest that the Johad bridge is narrow. While giving way to an oncoming vehicle, the driver reportedly steered the bus towards the edge of the bridge. The vehicle lost balance, went out of control, and plunged straight into the dry riverbed below.

Moments after the crash, screams of frightened children echoed through the area. Local villagers rushed to the spot and immediately alerted the authorities. Police teams and administrative officials reached the scene promptly and launched a rescue operation. Children were pulled out of the damaged bus and rushed to nearby hospitals.

Several students suffered injuries and fractures to their hands and legs. Four to five children who sustained serious injuries were immediately referred to Vidisha Medical College for advanced treatment. Other injured students were taken to the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital in Ganj Basoda, where doctors kept them under observation.

Confirming the incident, MLA Mukesh Tandon said that nine injured children were referred from Ganj Basoda to Vidisha Medical College, while the condition of the remaining students is stable. He added that all the children were from Ashoknagar district and were on an educational visit. "Fortunately, there has been no loss of life in this accident," he said.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kshitij Sharma stated that the bus was carrying around 40 to 42 children at the time of the accident. "Four to five children sustained serious injuries and have been referred to the medical college. The others received first aid and have been sent back to their district," he said.

After medical examination and treatment throughout the day, around 35 children were later sent back safely to their home district of Ashoknagar. Officials from the education department and district administration were present to oversee the medical care and transportation of the students.

Deadly Fog Triggers Major Road Accidents in Haryana, Several Injured

A major pile-up involving several vehicles, including three to four buses, occurred on NH-352D in Rewari amid heavy fog, leaving multiple injured and marking one of several such accidents across Haryana.

New Delhi: Multiple road accidents were reported across Haryana as dense fog drastically reduced visibility on major highways, leaving several people injured.
In Haryana’s Rewari district, a major pile-up occurred on National Highway 352D during the early morning hours when several vehicles collided amid heavy fog. Initial reports suggest that three to four buses rammed into each other while travelling from Rewari towards Jhajjar.
The sudden loss of visibility is believed to have triggered the crash. Those injured were rushed to nearby hospitals, though the exact number of casualties is yet to be confirmed. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.

Another accident was reported on National Highway 152D, also known as the Trans-Haryana Expressway, near Kharkara village in Rohtak district. Several vehicles, including trucks, buses and cars, were involved in a collision after dense fog engulfed the stretch, once again highlighting the hazardous road conditions prevailing across the region.

Following this, a separate pile-up also took place at Dhiktana Moda in Hisar, on National Highway 52, around 8 am. The incident began when a Kaithal roadways bus collided with a dumper truck. A second bus following closely crashed into them, after which a car and a motorcycle also became part of the chain collision. Multiple vehicles were damaged in the accident, and injuries were reported.
In a similar turn of events, several vehicles collided near Bambawar village in Uttar Pradesh on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway on December 13, which encircles the eastern side of Delhi. Reports said multiple people were injured as visibility dropped sharply due to dense fog.

IMD Cold Wave Alert for Haryana as Dense Fog Hits Delhi-NCR

The strings of accidents come amid a severe cold wave gripping Haryana, with temperatures ranging between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius across most districts.
The India Meteorological Department had earlier issued a cold wave alert for the state, warning of dangerous driving conditions due to fog. Commuters were advised to use low-beam headlights, maintain safe distances and exercise extreme caution while travelling.

The accidents also occurred against the backdrop of worsening air quality in the National Capital Region. Delhi woke up to dense smog on Sunday morning, with the average Air Quality Index recorded at 461 at 7 am, placing it in the “severe” category despite the implementation of GRAP-IV measures, according to the Central Pollution Control Board.
Thick haze was reported in several parts of the capital, including Ghazipur, ITO and Anand Vihar, where visibility remained critically low. CPCB data showed that many localities in Delhi continued to record severe air quality levels, compounding the risks on already fog-bound roads.

No Potholes in Bengaluru’: DK Shivakumar Makes Big Claim, Calls Road Crisis ‘Social Media Creation

The Karnataka Deputy CM said that the idea of potholes in Bengaluru is a mere social media creation, and there are no potholes in the city.

Amid the growing complaints over potholes and poor road infrastructure in Bengaluru, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Friday (December 19) made a new claim, saying that there are no potholes in the city, and it is all just made up on social media.
The Karnataka Deputy CM told ANI news agency that the idea of potholes in Bengaluru is a mere social media creation.

"There is no pothole, there is no issue. It is only a creation on social media. Bengaluru is doing well. People from all over the world are coming to invest in Bengaluru, to live in Bengaluru, to work in Bengaluru," Shivakumar told ANI.

'Pothole, A Nationwide Issue'

Months ago, DK Shivakumar claimed that the issue was being deliberately amplified to spoil the image of the Congress-led government in Karnataka. Stressing that it is a "nationwide" issue, Shivakumar said that he travelled around Delhi just a day ago and saw that potholes were there on the roads of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence too.

"Delhi’s roads, including the road to the Prime Minister’s residence. Potholes are a problem across the country. Only Karnataka’s issues are being blown out of proportion. I would like to tell everyone, including the big businesses in Bengaluru, that we are doing our job of filling potholes," he said.

What is Karnataka Doing to Make Bengaluru Pothole-Free

Karnataka launched a mobile application to report potholes and fast-track repair work. He further said that a timeline has been set to address these issues efficiently and quickly.
Earlier in September, the Karnataka CM announced that Rs 1100 crore has been allocated for road repair and construction. In a post on X, DK Shivakumar said that Bengaluru is set for a major push in road development.
"We are committed to ensuring every constituency benefits from these funds and to building smooth, pothole-free roads across the city," he added.

Bengaluru ORR Woes: Rs 74-Crore Wasted, KR Puram–Hebbal Lanes Still a Pothole Mess

The Outer Ring Road corridor is a hub of activity, dotted with upscale hotels, tech parks, and offices, catering to the city’s youth and working professionals.

As Bengaluru laments poor road infrastructure and potholes across the city, service lanes along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) between KR Puram and Hebbal remain crumbled and pothole-ridden even after the Bengaluru civic body spent Rs 74 crore on its development, according to a Deccan Herald report.
The Outer Ring Road corridor is a hub of activity, dotted with upscale hotels, tech parks, and offices, catering to the city’s youth and working professionals.

A regular commuter on the service road, Arun, said that in the last two months, civic workers have filled up potholes at least three times; however, they are still back.

“First, it was tar, then sand mixed with stones. None of these quick fixes has helped motorists. The potholes are back, and the streetlights remain dysfunctional,” he added, according to a Deccan Herald report.

Meanwhile, between Hennur and Hebbal, the condition of service lanes has worsened, making it difficult for commuters to drive on the lanes. At Hennur Junction, the intersection of the road has been damaged.

BBMP allots Rs 74 crore for road repair

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) took the initiative of road development under the High-Density Corridor Improvement Project and set aside Rs 74 crore, specifically for the ORR stretch.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru's Iblur junction on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) stretch has now gotten a makeover with a freshly painted corner, after multiple complaints over poor road infrastructure and debris.
The founder of Bangalore Walks shared a video on social media, thanking government agencies and the Mahadevapura Task Force. Arun Pai, the founder of Bangalore Walks, took to Instagram and shared the video of the newly repaired stretch under the flyover along the ORR, lauding the power of citizen and government action.
Pai added, "With invaluable coordination support from Mahadevapura Task Force, multiple govt agencies stepped up to fix a common problem."

9 killed, 29 injured as bus plunges into ravine in S. India

NEW DELHI, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- At least nine people were killed and 29 others injured, some of them critically, after a bus carrying them skidded off the road and plunged into a ravine in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh on Friday, police said.

The accident took place near the Tulasipakalu village in Alluri Sitarama Raju district, about 267 km northeast of Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh.

According to police, the bus was carrying 35 passengers, two drivers, and a cleaner.

Immediately after the accident, teams from the Maredumilli and Chintoor police stations reached the spot and began rescue operations along with local villagers.

The victims have been identified as local tourists traveling from Araku Valley and scheduled to reach the Bhadrachalam temple later in the morning.

Police have registered a case and ordered an investigation into the accident.

Preliminary investigations carried out by the police revealed the accident took place when the bus veered off the road while navigating a sharp curve in the forested ghats, causing it to fall down a steep slope.

It is likely that the bus driver did not see a curve on the road due to heavy fog and ended up in the ravine, a police official said.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the accident and announced compensation to the families of the victims.

Roads, Not Posters, Win Public Trust': Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Credits 11 Years Of Infrastructure Push

Road infrastructure has been strengthened continuously over 11 years, leaving the opposition uncomfortable, said the CM.

Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the state has a performance-driven government which enjoys the continued and unwavering trust of the people. He remarked that the steady strengthening of the road network over the past 11 years has unsettled the opposition.
The Chief Minister was responding during Question Hour on the second day of the Winter Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Friday to a question raised by MLA Smt. Geeta Bhukkal.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the opposition bringing posters or newspaper clippings into the House does not bother the government in any way. He emphasized that the present dispensation believes in delivering results. He further said that previous governments failed to give due attention to road strengthening. In contrast, the comprehensive improvement in road infrastructure over the last 11 years is precisely what is causing discomfort to the opposition.

Referring to ongoing projects, the Chief Minister said that a greenfield expressway is being developed from Jhajjar to Chhuchhakwas, yet opposition members have not even acknowledged the government’s efforts. He added that at the very least, the opposition should appreciate and thank the government for improving road connectivity and infrastructure across the state.

'I Tried, but....': Karnataka Bus Driver Recounts Horror After 5 Burnt Alive in Truck Crash Fire

A Bengaluru–Shivamogga luxury bus caught fire on a Karnataka highway in Chitradurga after being hit by a speeding truck, killing at least five passengers.

At least five people were burnt alive in a horrific road accident on National Highway-48 in Karnataka’s Chitradurga district early Thursday after a luxury private bus, travelling from Bengaluru to Shivamogga, caught fire following a collision with a speeding truck.
The accident occurred around 2 am near Hiriyur when the bus was hit after a truck coming from the opposite direction rammed the divider and crashed into it. Most passengers were asleep at the time and were trapped as flames quickly engulfed the vehicle.
Rafiq, the bus driver, who is undergoing treatment in hospital, said the truck was overspeeding and struck the bus near its fuel tank. “I was maintaining the speed of 60-70 (km/hr) at that time. I saw the vehicle coming from the front. I know only the vehicle (truck) hitting the bus, after that I don't know what happened and how I was brought out,” he told reporters. He said he tried to control the bus but was unable to avoid the collision and has no memory of how he was rescued.

He said, "I tried to control the bus, on seeing the vehicle approaching from the opposite direction. My bus even touched the other vehicle, which was moving next to us; I don't know what vehicle it was. But, couldn't (control)."

The bus cleaner, Mohammed Sadiq, said the truck directly rammed the diesel tank, triggering the blaze. Sleeping near the front of the bus, Sadiq was thrown out through a shattered glass window and escaped moments before the fire spread. He is also being treated for injuries.
Police officials said the impact may have caused a fuel leak, leading to the rapid fire. “A few passengers managed to escape by breaking windows, but several were trapped as the fire spread quickly,” said Inspector General of Police Ravikant Gowda.
Four passengers of the bus and the driver of the truck were killed in the accident.
Eyewitnesses and survivors described scenes of panic and chaos. “People were screaming, the door got jammed, and flames were everywhere,” said Aditya, one of the survivors. “Some tried to help others, but the fire spread too fast.”
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah termed the incident “heartbreaking” and ordered a thorough investigation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the deaths and announced ex gratia assistance of Rs 2 lakh for the families of those killed and Rs 50,000 for the injured.

Speeding SUV Tears Through Gate of Rohini Home in Delhi, Narrowly Misses Elderly Woman - WATCH CCTV

In a shocking incident in Delhi's Rohini, a speeding SUV crashed through a home’s gate and into the living room, where an elderly woman was resting. Despite the extensive damage and debris, she survived with minor injuries. CCTV footage shows the vehicle barreling towards the house, barely missing her.

New Delhi: In a terrifying late-night incident that has sparked fresh debate on reckless driving in the capital, a speeding SUV tore through the gate of a home in Delhi’s Rohini and crashed straight into where an elderly woman was resting. The impact was severe enough to flatten furniture, scatter household belongings across the floor and leave most of the room in ruins, yet the woman fortunately survived without major injuries.
A CCTV clip of the incident, now circulating widely online, shows the white SUV racing towards the property at alarming speed before ramming through the metal gate and bursting into the house. The vehicle comes to a halt only after causing extensive damage inside, missing the woman by mere feet as she sat on a sofa. Residents can be seen rushing in seconds later, shocked by the destruction that unfolded within moments.

This crash comes amid growing concern over speeding-related accidents in the city. As per Ministry of Road Transport data cited in the post, more than 72% of road accidents in Delhi in 2023 were linked to overspeeding, claiming 1,457 lives in a single year. The Rohini incident, residents say, is yet another reminder of how quickly negligence behind the wheel can turn deadly.

Details on the driver’s condition and whether legal action has been initiated remain unavailable at the time of filing this report.

Teacher Couple Die As Car Falls Into Canal In Punjab Due To Dense Fog

The incident comes amid a series of fog-related road accidents reported from Haryana on Sunday.

Two school teachers died on Sunday morning after their car plunged into a canal in Punjab's Moga district, as dense fog severely reduced visibility on the road.

The accident occurred when Jas Karan Singh was driving his wife Kamaljeet Kaur to her election duty at a polling booth in Sangatpura village for the Punjab zila parishad polls. Due to heavy fog, the road ahead was not clearly visible, causing the car to go out of control and fall into a canal running along the roadside.

Both the husband and wife died on the spot.

Kamaljeet Kaur was posted on election duty at the polling booth in Sangatpura, while Jas Karan Singh, originally from Mansa district, was an English teacher. Both were government school teachers serving in the Moga district.

The incident comes amid a series of fog-related road accidents reported from Haryana on Sunday. In Rohtak, a major accident occurred in the Meham area where 35-40 vehicles, mostly trucks, collided, injuring several people. The accident occurred at a highway intersection. A truck and a car collided, followed by a chain reaction involving many other vehicles.

Similar accidents were reported from Hisar and Rewari. In Hisar, two state roadway buses collided with other vehicles at Dhiktana Moda on National Highway 52 at around 8:00 am. The pile-up of vehicles occurred after a Kaithal roadways bus collided with a dumper truck. Another bus following these two vehicles collided, following which a car and then a motorcycle also joined the pile-up.

In Rewari, an accident occurred on National Highway 352, after around three to four buses collided violently due to low visibility. Those injured were admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Driving in fog requires extra care. Dense fog reduces visibility and makes it difficult to see vehicles and road conditions ahead. Slowing down and maintaining distance can help prevent accidents in such conditions.

Sad to read that they lost thr lives, but india need to introduce better vehicle laws and strickter driving tests = this accident was easily avoidable
