India's World Cup exit 'breaks a billion hearts'

This one would have hurt more than 2019 I guess. Home tournament. Hot favorites. Every one in top form. Unbeaten throughout.
Rohit as a batter was extremely selfless throughout the tournament.

This one will hurt them more then 2003 I suspect. Aussies have made those 90's kids relive the trauma of 2003 final.
No that one hurt a lot as it came when nothing else except cricket mattered

I wonder if a 14 year old ll feel the same hurt what I felt when we lost 2003, I doubt it, for us cricket was so huge back then and not so many tournaments either.

This one will certainly hurt and haunt them for long, definitely their worst defeat since its world cup final at home.

They were far ahead of all other teams through out the tournament and then to be badly mauled this way in a final in front of 130k Home crowd will hit their fan deep.

Part of me do feel bad for the fans as they are very passionate about the game

It would if there was not much cricket as in 2003, we just play so much cricket now.

Rather lose in the qualifying stage than in the final, and at home.

Ufff, the pain Indians must be feeling today.

I am guessing this one is hurting more.

This one was at home.

The one that hurt most was the 96 and 2003 WC. I dont think ANY loss can come close to that Eden Garden semi finals, especially after the euphoric win in the quarter finals against Pakistan. But that team was full of mediocre players , Ashish Kapoor was playing lol. It was just the atmosphere and everyone had convinced themselves India was going to win

2019 I wasnt convinced the team was very good. In 2023 the team is good but it was due a bad day.

I don’t think India will forget this for many years to come. Last time they got a chance to win odi World Cup at home was in 2011 it’s 12 years later it came back to India. This one will sting for a while.

Fully expect broken TVs, burning player effergies and players photos put on donkeys parading through main cities after this humiliation for India.
None of this will happen. We are proud of the way the team played all tournament. Aussies deserved to win the Finals after a great performance there.

Of course it will happen, the silence in ground day was just the start

Really feeling heartbroken and was literally cring but this is how cruel sports.

Too tough of a loss, massive despair. India really did miss out on a World Cup.

Many sad emotions one would assume

See this is an emotion we can somewhat subscribe to- no mocking, no slander, and a true statement. Thank you, sir.
It was indeed a tough loss, but all fans will still be ok given we reached the finals. Of course, it would have been phenomenal to win it all but we just lost to a better team on the day. It is just that and people can live with it.

Think most fans assumed India would have the trophy this year
They didn't only assume, they were already celebrating. A professional commie like Akash Chopra tweeted yesterday that ' After lifting the trophy tomorrow, he is gonna feel sorry for Hardik and Axar'. I mean how can you pre decide you gonna win that too against Australia?
