Seems to have been around when we won both our world cups...

Seems like a sensible sort of chap.... what do you think?

well I use to think differently about him .... after he called everyone retarted & went away & coming as manager for same guys .....

team looks better managed under him and why would make us win 3rd wolrd cup he only the manager.

or does the manager also coach the team??

He is definately better manager than Yawar Saeed.

In my eyes (even when he was coach) his approach has always been to be

a) honest
b) take back seat approach

this has always worked best with Pak (and to some extent india)

Any (coach/manager) who has tried to FORCE pak players to do something (anything) has failed BIG TIME!

I can not find the video now, but if you watch BKBH with Intikhab Alam, he seems very decent :inti

Seems like a very decent man, which is why his out-of-line retards comment was so shocking

dam... too much pp I think i've adapted to a British accent, just the words though not the accent haha

I like him. The retard comments was just stating the obvious. We call the Pakistani players retards everyday here on PP, and that oathtaking business he was commenting on deserved a much stronger term than just 'retard'. He's a good manager.

when I met him, was very courteous and it was clear that he was highly respected by the journos and officials alike.

and of course, he will bring home the World Cup! :inti

He's a two time WC winner, people should show some respect.
Love that smooth, seductive baritone of his as well. :inti

Two time World Cup winner?? What role did he play in the 1992 world cup, coach or manager? Or....player?

He knows his cricket,he was criticised a lot during his tenure as coach because he was a little portly and restricted in his old age,but his cricketing nous and knowledge is second-to-none.He's turned out to be a good manager and is a calming influence on the players.

You like most people. not the Beast, right?:)

I DO like him! :)

Just have some criticisms of his approach and what passes for his thinking at times. Even those, I can live with - have 14 years practice, after all.

I do dislike him being called a 'beast' though :D
Its moronic.

Always thought highly of him. Has not done anything to change my opinion of him. That statement about the guys being all retards... well ...... CAN YOU BLAME HIM?!

I'll admit I was ticked off about the retard comment but can't say I blame him. Still inappropriate, and he seems a very decent man

you forgot the Biryani World Championship of 2006 :shahzaib

well i guess he was right about the 'retard' stuff.
2 WC one as a manager and the other as a coach seriously this man is surely very lucky
our lucky charm ;)
@every PPer who thinks pak gonna win this WC plz stop dreaming :p

Don't you hate Afridi? Hate to break the news to you, but he's captaining our WC team. :afridi

yep that's the sad part.:) However Pakistan is always first to me. Hate is a strong word, I think he is usless player except for T20.

Very true. Afridi's ultimate format is double wicket for those who remember it. Him and Aaqib Javed were the dream team. Although I always wanted to see Afridi team up with Razzaq or Waseem Akram. That would be an unstoppable combo.

50 overs and only 1 wicket is below the great Pathan.

Afridiites.... appear to be blaming :inti for the fact that :afridi is no longer in the team.

Is he the one to blame?
