What's new

IPL 2018 | April 10 | Day 4 | Discussion Thread

If you pick Vinay Kumar or Ashok Dinda you deserve to lose. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. When will these teams learn.

If that isn't the death knell on rubbish Kumar's ipl career nothing will ever be.

With this, Vinay Kumar's career is officially over (hopefully :P )
Gongratz CSK, haters gonna hate. :D

Three things I've learnt:

1. CSK are the GOAT T20 team; they've got that ManUtd vibe to them. Such a glorious team to support.

2. Dhoni is finished. Dinesh Kartik should be in all of India's team instead of him.

3. My Daadi is a more reliable bowler than Vinay Kumar. And she passed away 5 years ago :inti

Karthik forgot that curran had an over he should have bowled curran 17th and 19th over instead of 18th over. I knew this trundler vinay will win it for csk even if he had 36 runs to defend.

Anothe4 shocking defeat. First against my most fav team MI and now against second team that I am rooting for.

He is such a legend that he would’ve even won a game for CSK even they needed 42 off last over. :misbah

What a match!

Vinay Kumar has finally run out of luck. Sadly, Mohit and Unadkat are still riding their luck.
There are a few local bowlers in the IPL who depend entirely on familiarity with the conditions and pace variation.

Jadeja finishes it in style. CSK are back. Keep on crying haters. :shh :shh :shh

Congrats! But can’t believe the luck.

Two wins against two of my fav teams. Shocking to watch as a fan. Both times I was confident up until 19th over.

No point blaming Vinay Koomar.

It was DKs legendary captaincy right from picking him to making bowling changes.

I haven't seen poorer captaincy in a long time.

Without the unfair advantage of a slinging arm, they’re gonna find it difficult :P.

That is so true. We actually won some championship due to Malinga. However, I still think if we get our team combo right we could make it numero Quatro this time

Well that's mainly cause CSK weren't around for the last two seasons though. Mumbai are good side for sure though, and along with KKR make the big three of the IPL.

I do feel CSK can make it #3 this time around but i really hope not. I really hate CSK and KKR. I actually wont mind RCB winning it this time around Indiandan2018

I don't think they will and I support them, but I can dream. I do think CSK have a lot of haters, just based on how dominant they were. It was a written that they would qualify for the playoffs and the fight was for only the remaining 3 places. That kind of consistency (and ManUtd are a great example for a long time), bring dislike and hate too.

If you violate rules you will be punished, can't give that as an excuse.

Nobody is giving it as an excuse. Just stating that was the reason why. From my understanding the team themselves didn't have anything to do with it; it was a team owner that was betting on them. Correct me if I'm wrong. I just feel that in that case they should have forced a sale of the franchise and decoupled it from off-field shenanigans if it didn't have an on-field performance impact. That's a different discussion though.

Team owners are very much part of the whole franchise/team, which also includes Chennai city and fans.

Anyone of them makes mistake whole CSK will look bad.

Haha totally agreed !! Vinay Kumar is a total rubbish. No speed, no Yorker, no variations.

For sure, but it's the fans and players who clearly were innocent that suffered. In the Royals case there were players implicated right? Anyways, I'm happy the is back cause I support them.

Is that stadium again going under renovation? I could see 40% of the stands empty and covered with big fat ugly yellow CSK flags..(onTV)

A good high scoring match.
Dhoni should do same what misbah did in psl I.e not coming to crease until no other option is left.Otherwise he can easily lose a match for CSK.

Kkr lack of squad depth could cost them. An absolute disgrace that Vinnay is playing.

With some of the pull outs/injuries from some of the overseas pacers I am beginning to question the standard of the remaining of them this season but it is very early stages still.

Karthik seem to be another average captain. Don’t see anything special. Overall I still feel they have a very good team. They need to jus5 replace rinku and Viney, with two of the u19 folks.

One Think is you select viney kumaari second you let 2 Bowl the final over and there was a over of spinner kuldeep and curran have both 1 over left and are both wicket taker. I Can understand everyone was getting hit. But still viney kumaari and karthik made mess of it

It is under litigation and tickets cannot be sold for those stands.

Brilliant game and well done to CSK. They are still trying to feel their way back in, so Dhoni & Co will take this luck with both hands.

I read somewhere that there is an agitation going on in that state with lots of people asking the IPL games to not be held in Chennai. That might be a reason for the empty seats.
