IPL 2026 - Discussion thread

Kohli looking good after he quit Tests! The intent is clear now in IPL (since last edition... This edition he is even better). If RCB's bowling clicks (and gets some aid from the pitch) then they are favorites to win the title, because they have a batting lineup who are not blind sloggers... If the pitches remain totally flat - SRH/Punjab/RR can take advantage...

To me that's not out.. Holder body still moving when he trying to stands up..
Gavaskar has argued the same thing - a catch is not complete until the fielder is stable on his body without having touched the ball on the ground.
I think Holder was in control of the ball and touched it when getting up - more of a routine reaction without worrying about the technicalities - the fact which is arguable. The umpire deemed him to be in control and determined the outcome based on that.

With 200+ scores being chased easily, batting first teams are trying too hard... The only way you come out of this is trusting your bowlers, stacking the bowling unit with 3 high quality pacers & 2 high quality spinners - 5 specialist bowlers. Then you should have 6 batsman + 1 impact batsman... RCB should play Hazlewood, Duffy, Bhuvi, Suyash, Krunal (their best 5). It should be calculated risks in power-play & middle-overs, only in death-overs you should slog...

So that thing was missing in this clip... Have not watched the original stuff so... People are saying that it touched the ground...
RCB fans are large in number on social media. They go with that narrative. Others don't quiet agree. Ashwin thinks it is out because Holder's hands are like buckets and the ball in his hand is like a small lemon. He believes fingers were underneath.

Well even umpire agrees it touches the ground, the reason they give it out bcs they think he's under control, but his body still sliding when he trying to get up.. so it's not out to me..

Yes.. act of catching was complete before it touched the ground as per umpire.
