IPL 2026 - Discussion thread

Hopefully Indian National Team will understand that SKY, Hardik are past their prime, and they should be aptly replaced, otherwise they will give next T20 WC to some other team... T20 team should be always refreshed quickly, every 2 years half of the team should be changed... Though Sanju looks ominous at the moment, I expect him to fade as the next WC approaches (He unfortunately missed 1 or 2 world cups prior). Just like SKY played an extra WC (though he captained and we won)... Otherwise we won't see bright players like Priyansh Arya, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, etc, not making their debuts at the right time and getting wasted! Even SKY made the national team tad late...

Hardik has been a clutch player for India since his debut. He has always performed under pressure in ICC tournaments. Now been part of 3 ICC Tournament winning teams.

Hardik is not past his prime, most of the Indian players have given their 200% since T20 World Cup preparation began in November 2025. Non-stop cricket has taken its toll & most players from the World Champion side are not pushing hard in these IPL league games which hardly matter. Most Indian players are now targeting 2027 ODI World Cup which should be our primary focus apart from winning the Gavaskar Border Trophy early next year.

Arya, Suryavanshi, Mhatre can get in the side after we are done winning Olympics 2028.

This match has definitely gone out of RCB's hands now! The compromise on bowling is killing... Both Hazlewood & Duffy should play together at some point...

Openers should never score Century in T20, its completely meaningless unless SR is like 250 or something. GT should have scored 250+ today.

GT have pretty good bowling lineup, but the pitch was so flat they couldn't defend 200+ runs. Also, that Sudharshan guy played a selfish meaningless innings.

GT didn't finish well. That is why they lost. You should be able to score 75 in last 5 overs at benglauru with wickets in hand. Anything less is criminal. At 15 over mark GT was 155. 75 runs more would have put them at 230. With catch taken that was defendable.

Yes, from what I have seen fielding has been medicore this year. Although, one catch by Salt was pretty insane.

Jaiswal is practising hard with jurel as wk .Rr have uploaded multiple videos of them.he must have thought wk is the only way for him in limited formats now.

Violent scenes in the crowd. Full hooliganism on display and families made to flee due to crowd behaviour.

Earlier in the seasons fans had phones stolen. After fixing scandals, toss fixing scandals, mobiles in dugouts and all sorts of other things the IPL has suffered a new low.

Don't like pitches where bowlers are redudant 90% of game time !
Ngidi - huge trouble it seems - sad !
cricbuzz :
2.3 Axar Patel to Priyansh Arya, 1 run, a tough chance, Ngidi has made a mess of it and he's landed badly on his head. He's down and it doesn't look good - was tossed up slower and just outside off, Priyansh leant forward on the lofted drive and toe-ended it, high and towards mid-off. Ngidi back-tracked, but he never looked like taking the catch, had to stretch himself backwards and doesn't get a fingertip on it. But as he went down, he fell hard on his head and it did look nasty

-----------
Concerned faces in the DC camp as the stretcher comes out for Ngidi. The physio and the doctor are having a look at the South African pacer. Don't think he'll be back today - landed badly on his head and the outfield at the Arun Jaitely stadium is hard as a rock. He does look to be responding to the doctor, but this doesn't look good at all. Awful scenes as the doctor goes through with the process. The ambulance is coming to the ground now - you don't want to see such scenes in a cricket ground. Hopefully, he'll be okay. The crowd realise it as well - the ground has gone completely silent. Hemang Badani had a few words and he seemed to be suggesting that a neck brace be placed. David Miller and Tristan Stubbs, Ngidi's South African teammates look shocked. Ricky Ponting, PBKS's coach is now walking to the middle

Horrible scenes at the Arun Jaitley Stadium Lungi Ngidi has suffered a very scary fall while attempting a catch, landing hard on the back of his head. Seeing the ambulance out on the field is never what we want to see.

Cricket is a secondary thought right now. Really hoping and praying that he is okay

Ngidi is in serious trouble. very hard fall on the back of his head
Actually I too fell hard like that today while stepping backward to my fielding position (tripped by stone).. felt like everything spinning couple of minutes..

That feeling when u are about to fall will stuck with you forever.its an awful trauma who ever had that .

Prabhsimran 50 in 18 balls. So much talent in Bharat. No one is catching us in cricket for few decades now. All thanks to IPL

:kp

Arya, prabhsimran, Iyer will make a strong case for inclusion in the Indian squad.

India can have 2 or 3 world class squads for t20’s.

Raju , you are not very bright if you think 265[ for 2 ] being chased down in 18.5 overs for loss of 4 on this postcard sized ground & atrocius pitch is fun !
Abdul, you're still crying ? More cry for you as Suryavanshi is currently on 77 off just 30 balls. What more excuses? :klopp :kp

Shreyas Iyer is got to be the third most successful IPL captain in history. He has led flop teams like Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings to Finals and a fairly successful but not the greatest team by any stretch, KKR to IPL victory.

Man I don't care if he is 17, 16 or 15. He is one of a kind. Never seen such a confident teenage batsman. This lad is super talented. If he stays focused, he is going to have one hell of a career.
