There are two factors because of which PSL has faced criticism recently one unavailability of a number of overseas players initially signed by teams owing to their duties with their national side.

Other being inability to fetch big names this year. I think it was result of poor planning. But if you ask me the PSL occurrence window of February to March is much much better than IPL window of May to June.

To me it just shows the fickle nature of franchise cricket. Sikandar is playing in the UAE. Next he will jet off to Pakistan to play for Lahore yet here he is giving an interview lauding India and his 3rd franchise. Just a couple of days before he was posting about Lahore Qalandar.

There was a recent article that showed how many players actually financially benefit when their teams leave a competitions early, because they can jet off to a new tournament while still recieving their full pay. There is a complete and utter lack of loyalty and I genuinley wonder who/what is propping up this leagues and when this bubble will burst ( barring the IPL). There is zero chance that the IL20 is raking in any money.

Sadly Franchise cricket seems to be the way forward for the sport. But it is very obviously artificial - especially to someone who comes from a country where football is the dominant sport. Can you imagine a scenario where a player dons 3 shirts in 3 months, claims to love each team he plays and compares the standards of the leagues happening in football. That player would get chased out of the stadium.

IPL is better in quality because of foreign players. When it comes to domestic T20 talent, not much to choose between India and Pakistan, in fact Pakistan may be slightly better, Pakistanis also understand T20 format better.

Cricket leagues are different to Basketball. Sikandar is just saying it for the money man. There is no harm in it. He needs to secure his future.

Leagues do not "make" players. 99% of the players come through domestic cricket, which acts as a feeder system of local players in franchise cricket.

IPL or any other league for that matter do not have a football style scouting system where you'd randomly pick semi- professional players from the streets.

I can't even remember when was the last time all Aussie main stars played the BBL together? Australia don't give two hoots about their own premier T20 competition. Quality wise nope, Money wise yes. IPL attracts more foreign players because it has more money to offer to them. BCCI is a strong and rich board, they can afford it.

SA T20 league has better quality than the Big Bash and the PSL.

Easily. It's the best league after IPL. For me, I prefer it even to the IPL. I

But @Hitman rightly pointed out that Australia has won the World Cup which is the most important prize in cricket.

Even in T20's, our selections are driven more by brand value of the Kohli's and Rohit's rather than by IPL performances .

Neither Kohli nor Rohit are the most impactful T20 batters in the IPL and neither have been for the last 4 seasons and yet they played 2 World T20's.

It can be the greatest league in the world , but unless BCCI themselves back those players in T20Is and win something, it doesnt do Indian cricket any favours.
