U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on Operation Epic Fury:

Hours ago, U.S. forces successfully employed multiple 5,000-pound deep penetrator munitions on hardened Iranian missile sites along Iran’s coastline near the Strait of Hormuz. The Iranian anti-ship cruise missiles in these sites posed a risk to international shipping in the strait.

Still trying to fathom why iran hasn't activated the yemen front with the houthis with one problem in hormuz , the houthis could cause an equal problem in the red sea and the route to the suez .
Then it won't be just oil , but world shipping goods that use the suez instead of sailing all the way to south africa and up the Atlantic .
Maybe houthis have a deal with the US and Saudis. Just a wild guess

A bit off topic. but stock market punters in Pakistan thinks around 10 days the war will have a sort of ceasefire lets see

Iranian’s are the most cultured ,most progressive and were most liberal Muslims ..may be due to their Zoroastrian history …sad to see this happening to them..hope their people get more rights after end of all this fiasco

So Ali Larijami killed in Israeli attacks last night
Words without action is hollow..winning economic war is one thing...if that's the plan then it's ok. But accept you don't have the ability to hit anything strategic ...not a criticism ..just the disparity in technology and economy

Awful for both sides but after a certain set of files were released, anything to distract from them 👍

Why else are 🌮’s own personnel quitting now citing that this was pointless and there was no imminent threat

Absolutely ..it hurts to see these unnecessary billions and death...larijani was definitely not a bigot

You don't want to use all your weapons at the same time...

How good is Israel's spy network in Iran after all this time that they're able to so precisely target important people in the government, military, scientific community and even foreign leaders like Haniyeh right in the middle of important locations?

They've been doing this for years and Iran's been unable to stop it. They claimed to have killed dozens of Israelis spies and yet...

I suppose it's a mix of human spies, satellite surveillance and electronic snooping but one would think Iran would be able to find something after so long at war. Just shows how far Israel and the US are of the rest of the world in these technologies.

The US failed in Iraq, Afghanistan and Vietnam but they are going to defeat Iran with a ground invasion?

Israel’s spy programs have been in motion since the end of WWII probably trained by the US and UK’s “finest” and kicking things off by tracking down as many Nazis they could hunt down all around the world. It’s been a long term investment.

Yeah Iran is the victims in all this and all, but they really need to improve their intelligence to survive in this day and age.

They cannot have their top guys assassinated every few days while everybody on the other side survives.

Their top guys are being killed at home. Two things on that, clearly they don't care about dying, maybe even want it. The other is it doesn't need sophisticated intelligence for this.

Mossad+CIA capabilities are well known and recently demonstrated in the attack on Hezbollah but it's still insane. Whoever these spies are, they're seeing bombs fall around them and yet are willing to provide Israel accurate intelligence on the position of someone like Larijani who was probably the second-most powerful man in Iran (probably the most currently since baby Khamenei is still a nobody).

They have to be high up in Iranian administration to know such specific information and either very motivated by money or insanely hate the Mullahs and their power.

Ali Larijani said before death 'it was regrettable that no Muslim country stood with the Iranian people during the attacks.'

Ummah nations betrayed them?

Iran vows revenge for killing of nation's security chief Ali Larijani

Iran vowed on Wednesday a "decisive" retaliation for the death of its security chief Ali Larijani, firing off a wave of missiles at Israel which said it killed him in an air strike.

A barrage of Iranian missiles killed two people near Israel's commercial hub Tel Aviv, while Gulf nations intercepted rockets and drones headed for targets including US bases in the region.

Iran will hold funerals Wednesday for Larijani and another powerful figure killed Tuesday by Israel, Gholamreza Soleimani, the head of the Basij paramilitary force, according to the Fars and Tasnim news agencies.

Larijani is the most prominent figure of the Islamic republic killed since Israel and the United States launched their attacks on Iran on February 28, killing supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and igniting a war in the Middle East.

"Iran's response to the assassination of the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council will be decisive and regrettable," Iranian army chief Amir Hatami said in a statement.

Besides sending missiles and drones into Israel and Gulf nations, Iran has sought to extract a heavy toll on the global economy, including by driving up the cost of oil by effectively closing the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial waterway for crude.

With oil still hovering around $100 a barrel, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned Wednesday that the global repercussions of the war "has only just begun and will hit
all".

Not necessarily high up...you could be driver body guard etc..these guys should use couriers and stay hidden...the couriers should meet at some random place and start phone calls...and these couriers should be personally trusted.

Where was larijani killed..surely not in his home...if so I have no words honestly

Then how did they allow 9/11 to happen? Or couldn't find Bin Laden for years?
Good question. I think they're vulnerable to groups that eschew modern means of communication and are extremely paranoid i.e. groups like the Taliban and Al Qaeda. I don't believe that the 9/11 was an intelligence failure as much as a co-ordination and political failure. Apparently the CIA and other agencies did pass warnings which were ignored.

Of course despite massive investments in intelligence gathering since the, I also think that while the CIA is extremely technologically advanced, they're not as good at the traditional human intelligence stuff as the Mossad.

In the end, you have to give credit that in the 25 years since 9/11, there have not been terror attacks in the US by organised groups. Only lone wolf attacks which by their nature are much more difficult to detect.

Cheap drones are reshaping the war in the sky

In just the first week of the conflict, Iran launched more than 1,000 drones and it is estimated to have the capacity to produce around 10,000 per month.

The technology of war has evolved rapidly in recent years, a shift starkly illustrated by Ukraine’s fight against Russia. What began as a conflict dominated by tanks and artillery has increasingly become a drone war. Outgunned in conventional armor and aircraft, Ukraine turned to inexpensive unmanned systems for reconnaissance and attack. Drones are estimated to account for about 70% of Russian casualties, enabling strikes to be carried out remotely and reducing the risk to pilots and aircrews.

America’s most powerful aircraft rely on highly trained crews. For example, a two-seater F-15 requires aviators to take years of training at significant cost. If one of those aircraft goes down, the United States loses not only the plane but possibly the crew aboard it too.

By contrast, low cost drones are piloted remotely. If the drone is destroyed, the operator is not killed and the replacement cost can be tens of thousands of dollars.

That imbalance has become a strategic problem. Attacking has grown cheap while the relative cost of defending has sky-rocketed, with the United States and its allies sometimes firing interceptors worth millions of dollars to shoot down drones assembled from off‑the‑shelf components at a fraction of the price.

The cost of a full battery system for either the THAAD or Patriot interceptors can be well over a billion dollars. The interceptor unit costs range in the millions.

graphic showing interceptor missiles featuring the THAAD launcher and the Patriot launcher and highlighting cost.

“If we’re shooting down a $50,000 one‑way drone with a $3 million missile, that’s not a good cost equation,” Bill LaPlante, the Pentagon’s chief weapons buyer, told a Senate appropriations subcommittee in May 2024, warning that the economics of air defense are becoming unsustainable.

The imbalance is already visible at sea. Since late 2023, the U.S. Navy has expended around $1 billion or more in munitions defending ships in the Red Sea from low‑cost Houthi drones and missiles, according to U.S. officials and defense analysts.

The missile price is only part of the cost. Each interception also depends on the presence of warships and their escorts, fuel and maintenance, trained crews, intelligence and surveillance assets, and command‑and‑control networks needed to detect and defeat incoming threats.

First use of a LUCAS drone shows US playing catch-up with Iran

The United States is scrambling to catch up. Washington moved to fast‑track small military drones, approving systems such as the Low‑Cost Uncrewed Combat Aerial System (LUCAS) more quickly than is typical. In July 2025, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a directive titled “Unleashing U.S. Military Drone Dominance,” ordering the Pentagon to cut red tape and accelerate drone deployment across the force, warning that adversaries are producing millions of drones each year while U.S. efforts have been slowed by outdated procurement practices.

graphic comparing the FLM-136 LUCAS and the Shahed-136 drones, highlighting payload, antenna, stabilizers, rear propeller engine, cost, and range to show similarities.

The FLM-136 LUCAS resembles Iran’s Shahed, a one‑way attack system that has been used extensively by Russia in Ukraine. The Shahed helped popularize a new class of weapon that functions much like a cruise missile, but at a fraction of the cost. As attack drones have proliferated and grown cheaper, defensive counter‑drone systems have lagged behind, exposing gaps in air defense.

Other anti-drone technology that could be used

Militaries are developing a growing array of technologies to counter the spread of cheap attack drones, ranging from electronic jammers and interceptor drones to high‑energy lasers designed to disable targets at the speed of light. Many of these systems promise to drive down the cost of defense by relying on electricity or reusable platforms rather than expensive missiles, but most remain limited in range, power, weather tolerance or scale, and are only beginning to be fielded outside of testing environments.

US NAVY

USS Preble, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, is the first and only navy ship so far to be equipped with this laser as of February 2, 2026.

graphic comparing the cost of military anti-drone equipment used by the US Navy, US Army and Israel. Equipment highlighted includes the Lockheed Martin HELIO laser, the LOCUST laser, Rafael’s Iron Beam laser and Rafael’s Drone Dome system. Labels note estimated system costs and low cost per laser shot.

The Coyote series of interceptors are drones that act like missiles. The Block 3 model is reusable, unlike its predecessor Block 2 which would explode after making contact with a target.

Coyote Block 3 uses microwaves to disable the drone, which falls out of the sky into a net, rather than exploding on impact.

INTERCEPTORS

graphic showing interceptor drones from Fortem Technologies’ DroneHunter and Raytheon’s reusable Coyote interceptor highlighting cost.

Until those systems mature and can be deployed widely, armed forces are still falling back on proven air‑defense missiles to stop drones that threaten ships, bases and cities. The challenge for the United States and its allies is whether counter‑drone technology can advance fast enough and cheaply enough to match the pace of attack drones, or whether defending against them will continue to rely on costly interceptors.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi:

"From our perspective, this is a waterway located next to Iran. Naturally, we will not allow our enemies to use this waterway.

We need to design new arrangements for the Strait of Hormuz and the way ships pass through it in the future after the war.

I believe that after the war, the first step should be drafting a new
protocol for the Strait of Hormuz."

Absolutely pathetic statement and he is playing in the USA/ Isreal hand with this statement.

This is not policy, it is a direct threat to global trade routes.

:kp

The US and Israel are "winning" this so much that they are resorting to copying Iranian drones? Lol.

In the end, you have to give credit that in the 25 years since 9/11, there have not been terror attacks in the US by organised groups. Only lone wolf attacks which by their nature are much more difficult to detect.

Well, before 9/11 the last major attack on American soil was in 1941.

So no credit here - they are just lucky to be living two oceans away from everyone else.

All these AI clips are so lame and really proving that rat Satanyahu could really be dead or doesn't want to come out of the bunker as Iranin missiles keep intensifying. This orange tan Trump version Satanyahu is rather hilarious in all these clips. They seem to have r
passed on the AI editing department to railway dropper sanghis in Delhi who are using free version for doing such a terrible job 😂.

Israelis haven't even addressed why they posted a 6 finger Satanyahu and why his ring just disappears in earlier clips lol.

This is next level cringeniess and desperation.... look at the shape shifter Mike Hukkabebe in this clip:

You have pay heavy toll to transit the Panama Canal, the Bosphorus Channel and the Suez Canal... so paying a toll for crossing the Hormuz doesn't seem far fetched and I'm amazed it wasn't implemented in the first place...

I suppose the US wouldn't have allowed it.

Either way respect to killing off the Iranian top brass, I think this is another ill thought out policy... last thing you need is for the IRGC to go rogue...

This really seems like a game to you?
Do you have some respect towards humans, no matter their background?
What should I do? Should I not report the actual news or truth? It's not my problem that Hezbollah targeted Israel with rockets and missiles, even though Israel warned them before the war began.

Is this Hezbollah's war? No, so why did they suddenly start attacking Israel?

By the way, that building was empty because Israel had already warned them to evacuate and then demolished it.

It's not about that particular post. I'm referring to your tone in general, which often comes across as very disrespectful, and at times it seems like you take some kind of satisfaction in reporting casualties.

This is a war where the majority of those who die are innocent people. Every reasonable person condemns terrorists or groups that undermine basic laws and human rights. But what we can at least do as humans is speak about these things with respect when a war is going on, again no matter the religion or background.

The way some of your posts come across makes it seem like you almost enjoying the situation, and honestly that feels very strange and just wanted to mention this.

Interesting video, can the ignorant posters who think America are winning please watch and dispute if they can?

Basically America is fighting a military war and winning but Iran is fighting a political and economic war and winning even bigger.

Iran is controlling how this war is going simply because they control the Straits of Hormuz.

A drone strike targeting the United States Embassy Baghdad was reported overnight, as tensions across the Middle East continue to escalate amid the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict.

Footage shared on social media and verified by BBC Verify appears to show a blast near the embassy compound in the Iraqi capital. The video, filmed from the southern bank of the Tigris River facing Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone, captured an explosion followed by a fireball in the distance.

Although the exact location of the blast remains unclear, the perspective suggests the impact occurred close to the US diplomatic complex.

According to Reuters, the embassy was targeted by a drone attack and an explosion was heard in the surrounding area. There have been no reports of casualties or major damage so far. The US embassy has previously been targeted multiple times since the start of the Israel-US war with Iran.

Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said a fresh wave of Iranian missiles had been launched toward Israel, prompting air defence systems to intercept the incoming projectiles. Authorities urged residents receiving emergency alerts to immediately take shelter.

The Israeli military also warned it would strike crossings along the Litani River in southern Lebanon. IDF spokesperson Avichai Adraee said the attacks were necessary because of “Hezbollah's activities and the transfer of terrorist elements into southern Lebanon under the protection of the civilian population.” He added that the crossings would be targeted “to prevent the transfer of reinforcements and weapons.”

Earlier developments highlighted the escalating toll of the conflict. Israeli strikes in Beirut killed at least 10 people and injured 27, according to Lebanese authorities. Israel said the strikes targeted assets linked to Hezbollah’s financial network.

In another major development, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz claimed that Iran’s intelligence minister Esmail Khatib had been “eliminated,” though Tehran has yet to confirm the claim.

The conflict has also affected global shipping routes, with the International Maritime Organization holding an emergency meeting in London to address security concerns in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil transit chokepoints.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump criticised NATO allies for refusing to help secure the vital waterway, calling their stance a “foolish mistake.”

Iran says natural gas facilities attacked

Iranian state media is reporting that natural gas facilities associated with offshore South Pars field have been attacked.

This is one of the biggest installations in the World. So if the attack is serious/made damgage, then Iran will definately respond against the other Gulf countries.

Yeah...killing the intelligence minister in a targeted assassination is really taking the mickey. While I don't doubt Iran will find eventual replacements for all these guys - the issue is that only the fanatics eager for death will be keen on these jobs now...not the smart, strategic guys. These fanatics, I'm sure, will make for awesome stirring statements and total dedication but I can't see how they'll be too good at their jobs.

At this point, I'm guessing Israel has Iran's communication network thoroughly penetrated and none of these guys can talk without Israel overhearing and figuring out where they are. They'll have to return to primitive communications methods if they want to stay alive and somewhat effective.

Qatar spokesperson: “Israel's targeting of facilities linked to Iran's South Pars gas field, which represents an extension of Qatar's North Field, is a dangerous and irresponsible step amid the current military escalation in the region. Targeting energy infrastructure constitutes a threat to global energy security, to the peoples of the region, and to its environment.”

Oil prices jump after reports Iranian gas field hit.

Oil prices leapt to more than $108 a barrel following Iranian media reports that a facility on the world’s largest natural gas field was struck.

The Brent crude oil benchmark reached $108.60 a barrel around 13:00 GMT - up by 5% on Tuesday’s prices.

It remains above $107.

The benchmark UK gas price also soared, rising by nearly 6% to 139p a them.

Both those price spikes are below highs seen earlier in the conflict.

IRGC issues evacuation order for energy assets in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued evacuation orders for energy assets in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE on Wednesday, according to semi-official Mehr News Agency.

This comes after local authorities in southern Iran confirmed attacks on the country's gas refinery facilities in Asaluyeh.

"These facilities have become direct and legitimate targets and will be targeted in the coming hours. Therefore, all citizens, residents and employees are requested to leave these areas immediately and move to a safe distance without any delay," the IRGC said in an evacuation order Wednesday.

"Previously, clear and repeated warnings were given to your rulers about entering this dangerous path and gambling with the fate of their nations," the IRGC said.

Reacting to the attack on the gas refineries of Iran, spokesperson for Khatam al Anbiya, command headquarters of the Iranian armed forces, said that Tehran will "strongly attack the source of aggression."

"We consider targeting the fuel, energy and gas infrastructure of the country of origin legitimate for ourselves and will retaliate strongly at the first opportunity," spokesman of Khatam al Anbiya said Wednesday, according to Tasnim News Agency.

Iranian President confirms killing of Intelligence Minister Khatib by Israel.

Iran President: “The cowardly assassination of my dear colleagues Ismail Khatib, Ali Larijani, and Aziz Nasirzadeh, alongside some of their family members and accompanying team, has left us in mourning. Three people are lightly injured by Iran's latest ballistic missile attack on Israel, medics say.

In Petah Tikva, the Magen David Adom ambulance service says it is treating a 44-year-old man and two children aged 13 and 12, who were hurt by a blast.

Several cluster munition impact sites were reported in central Israel, one of which caused damage to a home.

Seems like Abbas Araghchi and Pezeshkian are next on the Israel hit list.
I think they'll hold on Araghchi and Pezeshkian for as long as possible. They still represent the forlorn hope of America and Israel for regime change. Both of them come from the civilian side...not from the clergy and are strong supporters of democracy in Iran.

..
A source familiar with private plans & discussions tells me Ali Larijani was, for the US & Israel, the most favored transitional candidate as of Sept 2025, but became a target early Feb 2026.

The source said Larijani became a target when he:
-Pushed for crackdown on protesters;
-Took front seat in lashing out at US/Israel;
-Assumed key role in strategizing the IRGC kinetic actions, in particular against GCC states.

Ali Larijani is legacy power in Iran - close to the old Khameini, spent time in the IRGC, been part of the revolution for decades.

Pezeshkian and Aragchi are new men.

Pezeshkian was a doctor i.e. no military or clergy links. He was disqualified from running for President a couple of times by the council because he was seen as not committed enough to the revolution. He has spoken up about how Iranian protesters were treated by the regime. He spoke up and demanded a probe into the death of Mahsa Amini. Clearly a reformer.

Aragchi is a career diplomat and bureaucrat. He has served in the IRGC but only as a teenager and his entire career has been on the civilian side again with no connection to the clergy or military. He's actually studied abroad.

I think Pezeshkian in particular but also civilian members of his government like Aragchi represent the true hope for a regime change from the oppressive rule of the Mullahs in Iran. If Israel or the US assassinate them, they literally have nothing left. No legitimate source of power. It might suit Israel to have chaos and breakdown of law in Iran but I doubt the US would be happy since it could seriously disrupt oil supplies and keep prices at the level they are now.

Point to be noted is that trump might want this war to end soon but Israel want to make sure they give Iran the killer blow
