They do have the right. However, I think playing for Ireland these days is probably bigger than what it was 4 years back.

Look at KOB for example, he got big contracts in BPL and then a 100K contract in CPL. He was also supposed to be paid 100K in the Inaugural PSL to be held in 2020 or something.

BCB elections, A team tour, U-23 team tournament, U-19 tour, BPL fixing scandals, DPL, preparing stadiums for the T20 WC....looks like the board has forgotten that there is something called National Team. Would have been good for our lads, they would have got some good exposure to Pace friendly conditions.

The last time we toured Ireland we beat them 3-0 but in a T20 series. An 4-day match or ODI series against Irishmen would boost our self confidence in alien conditions.

I dont think it was a matter of sending a B or a C team. BCB were first of all too busy with so many issues that their lazy bums didnt feel like making all the arrangements for the tour. To be fair to BCB, they had a lot of headaches anyways, regarding the MF/SF scandals and probably wanted the international players at home for questionning, keeping in mind the ACSU came over for investigation when the offer was made. Yet, as a fan I feel disgusted because here I can see my team not getting enough cricket turns down a generous offer. Its more like a beggar rejecting money. BCB should somehow managed to send players that were not even in the picture for fixing, i.e. those that were not a part of the Dhaka Gladiators squad.

Also, Cricket Ireland could have arranged a series at another time. I think after the NZ series in october, BD could easily tour Ireland.

I think Ireland could have been a better than Zimbabwe and Bangladesh if Rankin and Morgan joined them. Goes to show the sad state of cricket. Playing for the 11th ranked team is not good enough for these guys.

Although T20 leagues may not be real cricket, it still creates a great options for players who dont play for the best of teams. Someone like KOB could get a good contract in BPL/SLPL/CPL/IPL/FLT20..........Somalian Premier league. Kinda like the way that football players dont mind playing for their National team no matter how ordinary their team is, since they get good income as well as fame from their club

Yeah I remembered how good bopara and morgan where doing until both got out.

I feel bad for Ireland, they always find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Then again, I dont want to mention the number of times Bangladesh lost a match they should have won. Infact, we should have won that match against Australia back in 2006. We took a 150 run lead in the first innings, to end up losing by 3 wickets and had we had the 2 catches of Punter had not been dropped we would have won and that too against arguably one of the best team the world has evern seen with warne, hayden, Gilly, Punter, McGrath, Warne. One part of being a minnow is that you will lose matches you should have won, and thats because of the lack as experience

So how does one steal a cricketer? Do you sneak in to the country in the middle of the night and kidnap their families and force them to play sports for you using the family as ransom?
