Seriously is he our next 'good in all three facets of the game'?

While I support players getting extended runs in the side, but the problem with our cricket is that in a couple of years the player becomes a 'senior' and hence an untouchable. Case in point: Hafeez, Shahzad et al.

Should we keep giving him chances to prove he's not as mediocre as his display so far?

I say give him more chances. His record is good so far and he has performed although not as consistently as one would like.

He is not a good ODI bowler at all. Batting wise, he is mediocre. Fahim Ashraf over him anytime in the ODI XI. I would prefer Nawaz over him in the ODI squad in future.

Said it in another thread and I'll say it again. He's a poor mans Hafeez. He is a mediocre bits and pieces player who will continue to stay in the team due to one-off performances every now and then and will continue to stay under the radar due to these performances until he becomes a senior and goes the Hafeez way. Might actually end up becoming captain as well.

He should be dropped from the team as soon as possible because he is a useless player who will never be a match winner.

When he came in last night with Sarfaraz, I thought we are in for some big hits but he too disappointed...

Hafeez is much better then this scam of a cricket player. This guy can not bowl or bat to save his life. Pakistan should stop investing in him and pick Mohammed Asghar whose a quality young spinner. Asghar actually spins the ball.

This is the national team, not a tape ball team. When a player looks to be useless, he needs to be dropped. No point investing in him.

He should not play against subcontinent sides unless its a t20. simple as that. He brings value when Pak plays against other teams.

Fault lies with you. He is at the most a 30 ball 35 kind of player. His hitting ability is grossly over rated.

poor mans hafeez.. should go and work in pakistani dramas will make gud money thr tbh..

Pakistani fans and their fickle nature, wonder how long before everyone starts asking for Shadab s and Babar's axing.

Hehehe what a pathetic player this Imad Wasim is that makes Hafeez look more useful in comparison. Happens to be slow left arm with an arm bowl minus much off spin like Nawaz. Building of his image as a good striker has also turned out to be farce.

Imad can be a good lower order bat but should be a 6th bowler tbh. His bowling is nowhere near pre chucking Hafeez.

Nothing fickle from me, I said he was only good against poor batsmen when he was picking up wickets for fun against the West Indies. I can bump those threads if you like.

He surely needs to improve a lot to remain in ODI side. Looks more of a T20 specialist at this stage.

He is a 20 20 specialist and that is where he should be.

There are better spinners who can bat a bit in pakistan.

He makes Hafeez look like he belongs at the international level, that takes some doing.

Guys the problem is that we dont have a lot of all rounders back home as well. All rounders are necessity in current era. Nawaz needs to work on his batting a lot, Bilal Asif is there but he is more of a bowler.
Other guy I can think of is Mansoor Amjad if we talk about spin bowling all rounders.
That guy was a pedology in his time though still 28 years old. Mansoor took 3 wickets in the only T20 he played. I dont know why nobody picks him in PSL and he is also not in the reckoning for national side.

Now he has a lot of centuries and wickets under his belt.

Left Arm spinners arent naturally God gifted and need to work a lot to perfect their skills. If Jadeja wasn't persisted with after 20-30 games by MSD, he wouldn't have got here. You cant expect them to be regular match winnders, at most people who bowl economical 10 overs and score a bit when needed. Jadeja has become a very smart LOI bowler in all conditions and a champ at home! I unfortunately don't see any loop or dip in Imad's bowling. Best he can hope for is to improve as a batsman and then bowl tighter lines.

World-class T20 bowler at least.

The way Pandya hit him for 3 consecutive sixes it showed how mediocre bowler we are carrying. He will bowl same trash in T20s as well if there are batsmen who can destroy him.

The guy has one bad game and people are all over him.

Sure I do agree his bowling is very one dimensional but let's remember it has been effective and he has been accurate with it.

Where I disagree is him opening the bowling in a one day match, especially first innings in England. But is that his fault for that ridiculous decision ?? The fault has to go with Sarfraz or mickey for that bizarre idea.

He needs to keep improving though, his batting is decent but needs consistency and his bowling needs to be used sparingly and effectively by the captain.

He is ok for 20-20 not for ODI , for ODI you need bowlers who can take wickets , he does not turn ball in lon run he will not be successful

^^

I told you guys not to Jump on Imad !

Some of you have the memory of a goldfish, forget all his good past performances.

He maybe limited but he's decent when used in the right times.

6 overs, 2 wickets for 13 runs.

Isn't that outstanding ??

Yet some of you call him a fraud.

At least Imad did not take wickets by chucking.

Bowling:
Imad >> Non-chucking Hafeez

Batting:
Can't compare a #7 batsman with someone who has always batted in top 3.

Hafeez has to be the worst cricketer to have played 100+ matches for Pakistan.

Today is the day i get to say I told u so. Make this post of mine into an amulet and wear it.

Bob Woolmer and Tim Boon rated him highly , unfortunately Afridi presence finished his chances.

He may be another Hafeez. But lets get rid of one Hafeez first before talking about the second.

Yes true. Still I am hopping he gets selected in PSL, may be by Multan you never know. He had a reasonable QE trophy in the latest season and was unfortunate to miss out in Pakistan Cup.

He is still 28-29.
