Do you mean Jaiswal for Gill?

Also Aus has never been a great T20 team.. but on ODI they don’t really care about age they care about performance, that’s why there were many players , example being Andy Bichel playing as a 33 yr old in 2003 wc.. while originally a backup but played the tournament after Gillespie’s injury.

There’s no point constantly praising June good student in the class and constantly belittling the weak student. There’s a gap in financial health of both boards and the overall economic situation and mood in both nations and it’s showing in various fields. India was a sleeping Tiger for a long time and Pakistan peaked in some aspects in the 1980s and 1990s but ever since the liberalisation lead economic reforms India’s been on a path of consistent development. The 2000s turned out to be very opposite for both nations. Whereas Pakistan suffered from political instability and terrorism, India kept improving and a steady pace thanks to political stability and a strengthening economy. In the 2010s, Modi govt came to power with even more hunger to transform India than Congress and the results are showing in 2020s where the gap is increasing in every field.

India is merely reclaiming lost pride. This was destiny. Better things are yet to happen. The Olympic medal counts need to improve. India must win in other sports and the economic must grow further adding to purchasing power. Movie industry will get bigger and India has to turn into a self reliant economic powerhouse.

Pakistan must also grow. It doesn’t have to constantly measure itself against India and feel disappointed. The size and scale of India will always give it certain advantages although that doesn’t mean Pakistan cannot achieve great success and progress.

Pakistan has to simply focus on improvement , constant improvement. To hell with where India is. Vice versa. Indians can’t be content with being marginally better than Pakistan.

Pakistan was mentally weak against India in big games even when India was a garbage team and Pakistan was favorites. Nothing to do with money.

Why nitpick averages? His career is not over. I rate him high on potential. I like all format players who have shown promise since junior cricket and came through a pathway . Naseem ticks all boxes. He has striking ability, swing and seam and more athletic than most Pak fielders. Ticks all the boxes. He is not 30+, still a guy with great potential, future and skill. I can see the quality in him. Maybe you are not

Rohit and Kohli can definitely claim to be the greatest white ball players for India of all time. From previous era only Sachin and maybe Yuvraj,Kapil Dhoni can compete but apart from
Sachin,Kapil only Rohit and Kohli have had such monstrous white ball performances. So yeah you are not way too far off. You are maybe thinking in Pak terms when you went from Afridi, Razzaq, Mehmood to Faheem and Nawaz

I am talking about these days. Not the 90s, 2000s. SA has done exceptionally well to get to final. I think SA20 has done some good to them.. Even 2024 was lost because they had poor batting depth. You cannot win world cup with poor depth.

If anything 1999 WC showcased Australia's mental strength better than any event

Australia was in deep trouble in group stage. Needed to win every game to win WC & they did exactly that

Could have got knocked out by South Africa in Super Sixes but Steve Waugh played the best innings of the WC to take them home

Could have got knocked out again by South Africa in semis but again they held their nerves while South Africa lost theirs

1999 WC was basically battle hardened Australia grinding wins in tough trench warfare. They wer nowhere as superior to other teams as they were in next 2 WCs

2003 & 2007 were won more bcoz of theur vast superiority relative to other teams

Their batting relied on 2 guys. Klassen and Miller.Them choking was not surprising.

Before they were not even trying to make it fo final. THat was the first final. Women's team reached two finals as well. Now that they have won WTC final i expect them to do better now. But they have to change the side's combination. They need 8 batsmen too. One time they almost made it to WC final was when they had Zulu down the order. That run out was a madness in 1999. If they go back to the similar combo they will do much better in the coming ICC events. Cannot have Jansen batting at 7.

Winning a test WTC requires way more mental strength IMO.

Also, till 2024, south africa had never reached any final in their history. Now in one year they have reached 3-4 and won one.

The quota system is obviously working and they are going to win way more in the future.
