Is IPL getting boring and losing its charm?

Thank you for putting an icing on your humiliation cake. :ROFLMAO:

And Why would I cry reading your delusions?

Only reality...the thing that actually happened in the real world and not just a wet dream of yours is that a group of amateur NRI Indians of US threw you guys out of a T20 World Cup. Now that's something that could and should make an insecure individual like you cry..
Looks like you were not expecting that answer from me. Did that hit your nerve? Are you going to do something about it now? Let's make it 15 out of 15 to tease you more. :yk :inti

A meltdown is when you have no arguments left and resort to calling me Pakistani. It's when you constantly drag Pakistan and Bangladesh into every conversation because you are too weak to stand your ground. As I said, 152/0 was just a reference, if you had fled during a Sri Lanka match, I would have used their name instead. Try quoting me without dragging in Pakistan or Bangladesh for once and then we can talk. Until then, you sound like a broken record, out of moves, scratching the chessboard in frustration after losing all your pieces. :rabada2 :inti

Lol at "fled". That too from an anonymous no name internet forum.

And an even bigger lol at "wHy wOulD yOu dRaG mY pREciOuS pAkiStAn aNd bAnGlAdEsH iNtO tHiS aNd hUrT mY fEEliNgs 😭".

Jog on, sunny. You are cooked beyond limits.

Aah yes what a logically well put and argument destroying answer that was...Surely threw me off of my tracks and even Jeffrey Boycott will be rolling in his grave thinking why he didn't come up with such a gem of a cricketing opinion.

Bhak. :yk

You are too predictable. Pakistan, Bangladesh, and a random smash of the caps lock key. That's Missu Ben in a nutshell. Go get some training and come back when you are ready. I am waiting... :yk :inti

Oh yeah...who can forget the "IPL hasn't helped India win a T20 world cup 🤡" nonsense from the usual bitter minnow complex ridden individuals on this forum.

And now they're resorting to lies and make believe to feel better about this ownage. :ROFLMAO:
The main issue is IPL doesn't pick any Pakistani cricketers and is still the most successful T20 league in the world, that is the main bone of contention. Rest all is just a gimmick to hide that. On the other hand, without Indian staffs, PSL had to finish rest of the games without DRS

:rabada2

Training on what? "How to spread lies and post illogical emotional outbursts only to get end up getting owned by anyone with an IQ of over 50" ?

No thanks. :viru

First of all, it's Geoffrey Boycott not Jeffrey Boycott. Secondly, he is very much alive. This is exactly why I told you to get some training. You are constantly embarrassing yourself in this thread. Ab karwa li na beizzati? :yk :inti

Yeah it's pretty obvious. It's evidently the pain of getting pushed into irrelevance and insignificance. The inherent minnow/small dog complex is not helping as well.

Look up the modern analogy of "Rolling in his grave" , old man.

You really thought you had a "gotcha" moment finally did ya? Poor you .. :ROFLMAO:

@Rajdeep I don't think it's just that. There's definitely one more reason.

Imagine having a bitter hatred of the IPL for ignoring your cricketers' existence, being painfully envious of it's gigantic commercial success and it's contribution to BCCI's power...and then on one fine day an anonymous forum poster goes ahead and makes a completely sane assertion that most teams from the said IPL will beat the cricket team you love the most on most occasions? You can imagine the levels of psychological meltdown an individual goes through at this point. :ROFLMAO:

This guy has still not recovered by my statement that I made years ago. :viru

Bachi khuchi izzat bacha raha hai ab? :yk :inti

Go and have wet dreams of Green card Indians beating Mumbai Indians 1000 out of 1000 times, sunny.

Or even better ...watch a certain game that was played in Dallas in the month of June 2024. :ROFLMAO:

You made a fool of yourself a few years ago, so I had to remind you like one of those jokes that stick with you for years. But your 'rolling in his grave' comment has now completely replaced it. And the fact that you tried to defend it by calling it a 'modern analogy' was just the icing on the cake. Thanks for the laugh. :yk :inti

How did that joke stick for years when your team continued getting shellacked by even minnow level teams on a regular basis? :vk2

Your statement would have made sense if Pakistan ended up winning a T20 world cup or atleast become a dominant side in that format after I made that statement. But they've only become more and more mediocre as time went by and thereby proving my point. :ROFLMAO:

You need to get out of your anger induced high and stop embarassing yourselves.

Oh, I am not Pakistani so your point is about as relevant as your usual modern analogies. Just a friendly tip for you. Maybe stop digging, because as always, you are managing to turn this into yet another facepalm moment for yourself. :yk :inti

Delusional/ Meme person's logic- We don't watch the IPL but still we feel it boring. Are idiots jab dekhte ni ho to boring hai ya intresting kase PTA 😂

:kp

@Bhaag Viru Bhaag I am a noble guy all things considered. :smith

So...Just to make your old soul sleep better at night.

Just to release you from the chains of anger, humiliation, frustration and helplessness that I have binded you in for the past 4 years by making a simple one sentenced statement on this forum..

Just to let you have a closure of some sort..

I'll say this ..

Pakistan can actually compete with most IPL teams on a decent level and not be totally humiliated.

If all the IPL teams bat and bowl with their opposite hands.. :yk

Never called you a Pakistani. Relax. :viru

"Your team" has many other meanings..but alas..your comprehension is at the level of a toddler (no disrespect to toddlers).

Ah, here comes the brave soul who put me on his ignore list, yet can't resist reading my posts in Incognito mode and sulking in silence. :kp :inti

Yeah just like 'rolling in his grave' has many other meanings? Kis jaahil ki likhi hui dictionary khareedi hai tune? Hopefully, he is not a chaiwala. :inti

"Boring" is still fine. It's subjective.

But these sore losers have the gall to say a league which is the home of the reigning World T20 champions , combined with the top players around the world is of "low quality" and "mediocre".

And when I reminded them of the actual mediocrities that were playing an international series, they ended up getting their knickers in a twist and to my credit - i have only made things worse by deepening their old scars. :ROFLMAO:

The fact that you're still stuck to that analogy tells me that you're really desperate for a way out of this humiliation by shifting the goal.posts to a non existent "mistake " and you have been thoroughly triggered beyond reproach .

So I think we're done for now. As i said, I'm a noble man all things considered and don't want to hurt you anymore. :smith

Have a good night!

Yeah you made things worse for yourself in the post #83. You were acting oversmart. And ask that coward @Devadwal to quote me directly like a man and not hide behind you. :yk :inti

As I said earlier, I will remember your modern analogy. Thanks for the laugh. Give your mic to next stand up comedian in queue, Mr. @Devadwal :yk :inti

How dare you utter such a blasphemous thing? :moyo

Papua New Guinea vs Uganda is of a superior quality because it's International. What do you mean I have a room temperature IQ? 😭
No point arguing it with folks who are hell bent on hating it without even watching it.

Over the past couple of years, the overall impact of domestic players in IPL has been higher than that of even the foreign quota players(according to the Cricviz impact model)who are themselves the best of the foreign players.

Someone who is still alive is probably rolling in his grave after reading your comment. Bunch of 🤡 :yk :inti

I liked classical ipl but I will say this year was better than last year and probably we will see better ipl in the future

Leagues have overtaken international T20s long back given the fact most of the international teams are using bilaterals for experimentation. No team fields full strength T20 team until the world T20. Been the case for a few years. Given the frequency of world T20 i won't be surprised if teams startt fielding second string team there as well.

The stadium for the last qualifier was not sold out. Surprising for the IPL

Well, apparently 600 million people watching the finals. So not sure how much interest the fans have lost.

Started in Ramzan , finishing before Eid ul Azha definitely overkill, in before Bakhts and Sankhis lay out financial charts of how many dollars are through it

I watched the final today because it was free on Sky Sports.I stopped my Sky Sports subscription a long time ago. This is the only IPL match I watched. The stadium is very nice. The standard of cricket was ok.IPL is over hyped. It gets a lot of press due to money. The cricket is not extra ordinary.

90k crowd in the final.
Great match great finish

IPL brand remains strong

lol, I don’t know who comes with these threads. It is very much possible for IPL to lose its popularity but by the time that happens international cricket will be long dead. 60% to 75% of the cricket followers in India, a large portion of them are women, exclusively follow IPL. You should see our family and friends WhatsApp. Unless it is a World Cup or a marquee series against Australia or England we don’t see any discussion about ongoing cricket matches. But when it is IPL time half the content is about it and most of the messages are about IPL only behind birthday wishes and good morning messages 😂

Highest standards of all T20 leagues and more so than most international T20I matches too

This match recorded 67 cr views (jiohotstar) including repeat tuning.

This is higher than CT and T20 WC trp's

Many people watch only ipl due to regional affiliation.

Test and true cricket enthusiasts like us are very less in general in current times.

Is this true @Bhaag Viru Bhaag

IPL final viewership exceeded CT and WT20?

:dw:kp

Not ipls fault the two Eids are squashed against each other..... :viru

This script tops all other scripts. Well done Jay Shah

He’s the king of script memes now.
Ever since he took over nothing but cinematic endings in cricket tournaments 🤣

IPL this season was fantabulous! Never had so much fun watching a season - better balance between ball and bat, lesser toss impact, 2 virgin teams in the final, a 14 year old becoming the talk of the town while Kohli & RCB creating history after 18 years! AB, Gayle and Kohli on the podium yesterday was the cherry on top. Fabulous end to a fabulous season.

Several story lines like you mentioned is what builds a brand, builds a fan following, builds a league.

Without a doubt the IPL final is the Super Bowl of Indian sports. It's an event countrywide.

Is it still happening? Don't people get tired of watching the same mediocre teams over and over for three months in a pointless tournament that serves no real purpose? :inti
For those not invested it serves no purpose but for those who are, this investment feeds into the vision.
For players it is a stepping stone to get into their national teams. There are plenty of examples in India and foreigners that got notified a little more here than their domestic exploits. Their talent is showcased before the world, the respective boards get a slice based on the money the players earn (for the poorer boards that does make a difference), and players get to play with the greats of the game, learn from them and are richer for the experience.
For India, it also generates a tremendous amount of money to build and strengthen the cricket infrastructure and make cricket a viable career choice.
So it does serve a purpose.
