Is it time to announce Salman Ali Agha as the ODI captain?

We dropped Rizwan/Babar from opening position because they had middling SR and high average. I am fine with it. But we replaced them with Tulla Agha who averages low and SR is low and made him captain....that I cannot forgive.

Salman was never a t20 material but he was made t20 caotain and we saw how the team got washed away. Now we have Shaheen as ODI captain and made a same mistake because the whole PCB setup is clueless and pathetic.. They simply don't know how to run things...

Shaheen trundler cost us another world cup played a big part atleast and now we are gonna face the same music in ODIs as well.

Who do you think can replace him as Pakistan's next T20 captain?

Problem is apart from Farhan, no one has fixed place in the team.

Salman should have been the ODI captain if we needed 1 at that moment.. Right now, we have no options.

Yes, Salman is a very good player, but he should only play ODI and Test cricket. He is the perfect player to captain Pakistan in Test and ODI cricket.

Yes.. He was on merit there... Surely, but T20s??? That was a mind-bending decision. Now look who is ODI captain... Shaheen trundler... Even bigger joke

Shaheen is not gonna last much longer as odi captain

It was a foolish decision to remove Rizwan he was doing ok job not perfect but yeah he was much better than this trundler
 
I want Sahebzada Farhan as captain in both white ball formats.

He has earned the right to lead us by performance.

RIzwan defeated aussies in thier own backyard.. Surely not the reason you removed him...Pathetic.

Rizwan was a good option but I think he will also be sidelined for this trundler

Rizwan should have never been removed... They removed him and made Shaheen captain who is not even fit for any club side atm with such fitness and form...
 
Even if we forget the fact that he doesn't deserve to be in the T20 team, he is a poor captain. In the Asia Cup final, he made the blunder of saving three Rauf overs for the death eventhough spinners were doing better on that surface, which ended up costing Pakistan the match. In this tournament his use of Usman Tariq against India and England made no sense and minimized Tariq's effectiveness completely. On top of that, other decisions like not using Faheem Ashraf at all, dropping Abrar after one bad game, over-reliance on Shadab + Nawaz were all poor decisions. Last two fall on Hesson too but the rest of the decisions were made by him on the field.

He has been so poor in decision making
No clue on team xi and bringing Tariq after 10 overs

He is not captaincy material

Anyone who uses Rashid Latif to push their narrative does not have the best interest of Pakistan cricket At heart. No surprise here,

The person quoting this also claimed Babar would handle McGrath, Lee and Gillespie in their prime

I think we must appreciate t20 as a format that requires immense resources at your disposal which agha doesn’t possess. He should be odi captain no doubt because he’s a firm fixture in the longer formats. You grow into your role as captain and can only be as good as your resources. What’s been blamed on him is also a coaching blunder. Shaheen, Shadab and babar don’t belong in the t 20 format all for different reasons. There is not a single proper batsman or decent seamer in t20 this is not aghas fault.

I think Pak should just stick to a lot of youngsters with salman captain until a youngster like Saim or somebody else can take over. Agha should treat the next few months in t20 as learning on the job.
 
It doesn't matter who the captain really is. Not now for Pakistan.

You guys need a leadership core team. Pick three to four guys who are mainstays of the team to lead the team across all the formats.

Agha to lead in tests/ODIs
Someone else for t20s
2 understudies who are consulted when the decisions are being made.

And when the time comes that Agha is past his best , you will have the structure in place.

This is exactly what india did when Ganguly was the captain.

Ganguly with Dravid , Kumble , Tendulkar as key leaders and then that continued to right now. There was never multiple factions etc and the daily drama that always seemed to follow the Pakistan cricket captaincy. It's almost like some cricketers over there think that becoming a captain is an achievement and not a responsibility.

Until this is set right at the core , Pakistan will face much more disappointments than successes.
 
Salman should be made captain in Tests & ODIs..

For T20s, Pakistan need to put faith in youngster
 
Never really a fit for T20 and after his consistent tactical blunders,he can forget about captaincy in other formats
