Amir has made a lot of statements about Babar in recent times lol "There is only one king" then that dig at his no.1 ranking. It will be interesting if he comes back.

Realistically, even Babar wouldn’t disagree with Amir’s comments. Maybe he can see the light nowAmir has made a lot of statements about Babar in recent times lol "There is only one king" then that dig at his no.1 ranking. It will be interesting if he comes back.
It is going to be quiet a conversation. Amir has experience. So not a bad choice. Rookies sometimes wilt under assault. Better defensive option. India might go back to Ashwin who has played just 2 ODIs in six years for the same reason.Realistically, even Babar wouldn’t disagree with Amir’s comments. Maybe he can see the light now
He's the second leading wicket-taker in the ongoing CPL and has been bowling with decent paceThe only basis for a recall would be his recent performances, because the last ODI or T20I he played was three years ago.
I don’t know how he has performed in the last 6 months to a year playing in the leagues / 20:20 tournaments. What has his record been?
Even so, it would be a significant step up in standards and game duration. I’m not sure he has the time to pull it off, or the fitness.
I’d say it’s improbable.
Keeping fakhar into the team and calling it the strongest one? how come a team can get stronger with 10 members?Fakhar
Imam
Babar
Saud Shakeel
Rizwan
Ifti
Imad Wasim
Usama Mir
SSA
Amir
Rauf
This is my strongest 11 for the World Cup. I'm not fully decided between Mir and Abrar but only because Mir has played more recently, I trust him more. Reserves can be Shadab, M. Haris, Dahani, Agha.
Agha has not failed enough to warrant exclusion. Haris should be there as a finisher type role. Dahani as backup pacer. Shadab is just Shadab
Yes. Strongest team from the current lot. No time to experiment with new openers. It's the management's fault. Babar and Rizwan don't belong in the opening slot in ODIsKeeping fakhar into the team and calling it the strongest one? how come a team can get stronger with 10 members?
Earlier from CricBuzz:
Amir is holding his hamstring, physio is out there. He just pulled up short in his previous run-up. This is not good for the Tallawahs, Amir is leaving the field. Looks like Reifer will complete the
Amir did not come back on the field again.
He's the second leading wicket-taker in the ongoing CPL and has been bowling with decent pace
That’s him basically taking back his retirement?Mohammad Amir on social media
![]()
He should man up and just say it. If he truly wants to play then make it clear. I think the PCB will be willing to integrate him. Amir should not be waiting for a heroic call-up. He needs to take back his retirement and start working on his fitness. I want him backThat’s him basically taking back his retirement?
Pakistani players have such egos, that this is so far-fetched.He should man up and just say it. If he truly wants to play then make it clear. I think the PCB will be willing to integrate him. Amir should not be waiting for a heroic call-up. He needs to take back his retirement and start working on his fitness. I want him back
that sucks if they have selected both waseem jr and zaman khan well they will regret this decision as both are absolute average bowlers at bestMy understanding is that Mohammad Amir has not been included in the World Cup squad.
They want to learn the hard waythat sucks if they have selected both waseem jr and zaman khan well they will regret this decision as both are absolute average bowlers at best
True bunch of jokers can't even set aside ego for the sake of Pakistan team. Lol I don't even expect them to select a deserved imad wasim instead of overrated good for nothing nawazThey want to learn the hard way
Actually
They will never learn
They want to learn the hard way
Actually
They will never learn
Then why did Hafeez quit?My understanding is that Mohammad Amir has not been included in the World Cup squad.
Why should Babar get on his hands and knees? It’s not going to be easy to get Amir back. His performances in the CPL have been sensational (for that league of course, but still).
PCB, Babar and Co will need to get on their hands and knees.
I would advise them to get the knee pads out and start
Good hope it’s trueMy understanding is that Mohammad Amir has not been included in the World Cup squad.
This is international sport, not a school fair play prize.Have some shame. Why should Babar get on his hands and knees?
Just out of curiosity who in the CT 2017 squad did not get along?Yes, yes and YES!
Amir is the best new ball bowler we have, has loads of experience, is currently in good form and transitioning to ODI cricket from T20 is not at all a challenge for someone with his level of experience.
All the people whining about morals and self respect need to clarify what exactly Amir has done to hurt them specifically, or Pakistan in general. Bringing up the spot fixing debacle over and over again when Amir has already serverd his sentence is unfair and him not being best pals with Babar or Shaheen isn't a reason to keep him out either.
Someone mentioned his retirement as some sort of betrayal but that is a bunch of nonsense. Players reserve the right to retire from any formats they do not wish to play. Do you see the ECB throwing a hissy fit over Moeen Ali retiring from test cricket before a tour of India?
Some of Pakistan cricket's most impressive feats came when players who did not like each other played together not just as teammates but also as rivals. The two Ws; Imran and Javed; Younis and Yousuf; Afridi and Malik; and the 2017 CT squad are all fresh in the memory.
Amir isn't going to make or break our world cup but if he is willing to represent Pakistan one last time then the selectors should definitely not deny him his last shot at attaining legendary status within Pakistan.
I also really want to see Shaheen and Amir sharing the new ball at close to their respective peaks.
With 6 bowlers in Shaheen, Amir, Rauf, Shadab, Imad & Iftikhar, he can get away with bowling a quota of 7/8 overs to be honest.4 over opening spell
3 over middle overs spell
3 overs death overs spell
I recon he can manage that
Thankfully common sense prevailed. Fans still finding it very hard to move on from him.My understanding is that Mohammad Amir has not been included in the World Cup squad.
It only has to prevail in Amir's case, how about others?Thankfully common sense prevailed. Fans still finding it very hard to move on from him.
he pulled his hamstring in 4 overs cricket. Those who think Amir can’t bowl fast for ten overs have no clue how rigorous of a training these pro cricketers go through. If one wants to bowl quick, over ten overs it’s not a big deal. Test cricket is different though.
Not an Amir fan for a mountain of reasons but cricketing wise, he is still one of the elite bowlers in the world. If he plays he will perform, that I am sure of.
Are people really romanticising the Waqar-Wasim rift now? Really?Yes, yes and YES!

Anybody can pull a hamstring. On the first ball or the first run. That’s not a good yardstickhe pulled his hamstring in 4 overs cricket.
lol no thnaks
BIG early wicket for @iamamirofficial !! He's back with a bang in Qualifier 2 💥#CPL23 #GAWvJT #CricketPlayedLouder #BiggestPartyInSport pic.twitter.com/EyFUDCGEMD

No he hasn't, he has habit of leaving the field after getting smocked by opponent. Once a cheater always a cheater.Seems still has hamstring issues in Qualifier 2 in CPL 2023
"Mohammad Amir won't come out to bat due to an injury (hamstring) concern."
well that part has become the past now so lets move on and not gets into it that he was a cheater or not.No he hasn't, he has habit of leaving the field after getting smocked by opponent. Once a cheater always a cheater.
Wasim Akram, Waqar younis, Aqib Javed are also miles better than current lot, but that doesn't mean we will get them back because they are retired. Similarly Amir has also taken retirement so he is technically unavailable for PCB to even consider. To be available in eligible pool of list, he has to take retirement back which he would not due to his egoistic nature.well that part has become the past now so lets move on and not gets into it that he was a cheater or not.
Currently he is still doing good as a bowler which shows he has the potential of comeback for pakistan but i think the biggest mistake which he has doee was the early retirement else he could have been given a chance to represent Pakistan in this world cup.
He is still way better than many fast bowlers which we have right now in the camp.
Bradford League has serious talentWhat is this garbage bowling? This isn’t good enough for the Bradford British Pakistani cup let alone the World Cup
Na he’s not a coward like Shadab and ShaheenAmir probably thanking his lucky starts he didn't bowl on this surface.
Na he’s not a coward like Shadab and Shaheen
His time is over but Hassan Ali’s time is now?No thanks his time is over
Hassan Ali is also not the same from 2017 sadly but Amir is done he should stick to his t20 leaguesHis time is over but Hassan Ali’s time is now?
I’m pretty sure a little bit of massaging his ego (this is leadership - you deal with different people differently) and he could have been re-integrated in.Amir's time is literally over.
No amount of hoping will change that.
He had his chances and missed them and then moved on.
Could he have done better on a pitch like the one today? Maybe.
I’m pretty sure a little bit of massaging his ego (this is leadership - you deal with different people differently) and he could have been re-integrated in.
I think that was the order of the day. But unfortunately we don’t have any leaders.
I might recall Bilawal Bhutto instead of Mohammad NawazHell I’d recall Bilawal Bhatti to the side than what we have right now Lol
