Already 32 of age, might've played his last match.

Don't understand, why was was he selected in the first place, what's so special?

Trust me, he's good. Pakistanis don't know him and he has barely gotten to bat in this tournament, but the guy has been one of the standouts in domestic one day cricket and for India 'A'. Usually plays at No. 4 or 5 and scores at a strike rate of over 100 with no fuss. I had more expectations from him than either Yuvraj or Dhoni who are past it at this point of time.

People are talking about his bowling but he is barely even a part-time bowler in domestic cricket. He is a middle order batsman.

One match shouldn't define how good or bad a player is. Perhaps the occasion got the better of him. Why do you blame Jadhav when even veterans like Ashwin and Jadeja were fretting like teenaged girls.

What surprised me in this tournament is, he is a very poor fielder.
He looks lIke Raina, I always thought him to be a very good fielder just like Raina. But he disappointed me.
Dropped one of the easiest catches of the tournament, his throw is wayward far away from stumps. He runs fast but ground fielding was below expectations.

Jadhav / Pandya / Jadeja - one too many bits and pieces players there.

I thought he was a poor thrower and with a weak arm, but what's worse is he was always fielding on the boundary. That is a huge lapse in judgement from the Indian camp IMO.

Please. Kedar Jadhav isn't a bits and pieces player. He's a proper batsman that's playing too low down the order. One match alone doesn't prove that he's a failure.

Jadhav is NOT bits and pieces. He has scored more than 1000 runs in multiple Ranji seasons in his career. Also he has scored 4000 runs in List A at an average of 50 and SR of 108. Apart from all these stats, he impressed me the most with some good knocks on green pitches like Lahli.

Not to forget his man-of-the-series performance in the England ODI series.

And He is not a bowler, does not bowl in domestic cricket (not even part time). It was just an experiment by Dhoni/Kohli in the NZ series last year.

I watched him today for the first time and can already tell that he is a good player, very calm and clean striker.

He's a good batsman, should be batting at 5 with Dhoni at 4. Can get someone like Uthappa or Pant at 6. Pandya is perfect for no 7. The situation was beyond repairable when he came in. Plus he hasn't really played outside of India much. That could be a factor. Otherwise he is a good batsman.

he averages 60 odd and is early in his career. i think the dismissal makes him look worse than he is. him and pandya have a lot to offer this team.

Kohli and Dhoni asking him to chip in with the ball has created the false idea that Jadhav is a bits and pieces player. He's still better than your Yuvi's, Jadega's and Ashwin's. I've seen him bat and he's one of the better middle-order batsmen India have.

People outside India probably haven't seen him bat too much. He's a really good batsman who I feel, has strenghthened India's middle order considerably. I still remember that amazing hundred he scored against England to win them the match from a seemingly unwinnable position. Pakistan could do with a batsman like him in the lower order.

Indian Chucker Jadhav

Wonder if this bush player will be reported?

Jadhav is not a bowler. He is just brought in to provide some comic relief and in the process break a partnership. Bangladesh made him look like a bowler.

Jadhav should be judged on batting. He is a terrific batsman and can accelerate at will. I know he failed yesterday and played a bad shot. He needs a few more chances. He should be coming in right after Kohli.

I haven't seen a lot of Jadhav but still feel that India might be better off investing in Pant, Nair and Panday instead.

Really? I dont know. I think India is a victim of its success. These guys havent had to bat that often considering the domination by the top 3.

He looks like a good batsman. did not get sufficient chances in CT to show his batting.

Surely a great cricketing nation like India has better players than this guy?

Looks like a bits and pieces cricketer to me.

He is no better then middle order batsmen of other sides. Indian's think all their players in particular batsmen are world class. This lad is no better then Shoaib or Hafeez at best.

One match end enter: hubris, ego, pompous attitudes.

And we wonder why people laugh at our failures.

he is a special batsman the best in Indian side after Kohli i have watched a bit of IPL he used to play for DD (don't know which team he plays for now) and i also watched his innings in which he along with VK scored 100 and helped india to chase 350 something after being 60-4 vs England..though he played only 2 fours yesterday but that shots were so pleasant that my father said (who didn't know much about him) that this guy is a dangerous player game is not over yet (while he was batting).

He's a good batsman - seen him against England a few months ago.

Age is Not on his side but he's decent.

Kedar Jadhav's bowling action

He is brilliant !!!

Taking full advantage of the limits of bowling angles and rules, he is almost kneeling down for certain balls and taking the arm down as much as he can.

Faf is truly perplexed :ashwin

There should be some greater restrictions put on the amount of sling. It's almost like underarm.

Is he the First bowler to bowl over the wicket and delivers the ball around the wicket??

His action works best if you are 5.2 like him. A tall man wouldnt be as effective as him

He has consistently outperformed his more famous team India aspirants in limited overs domestics - by some distance. So selectors couldn't have kept overlooking him. And I feel his returns in international cricket has so far been fairly satisfactory. On the other hand, age and fitness concerns aren't misplaced either with 2019 WC just over a year away.

Oddly enough, the Indian top order has been such a force in the last couple of years that these middle order inductees have not had a sustained exposure to pressure situations in the middle, making it hard to tell if they are the real deal. Could prove costly.

Jadhav did well in his short career so far.his part time spin also has been useful.he will be good utility cricketer till 2019 worldcup.

Scored 81 runs from 87 balls against Australia in the 1st ODI of the series.

His career strike rate is 106. Batting average is 43. Very calculative. Only problem is he has such a poor hamstring.

Have been saying this for a while now. He is a wonderful utility player for us. He just needs to take care of his fitness

And bowling average of 31. He would get into most teams in the world. Maybe even England, over Stokes (since he's out of form).

He is a better batsmen than anyone Pakistan have produced in their lifetime.

Jadhav is a chucker

How on earth is Jadhav allowed to bowl?.He is throwing the ball like a discus.I have watched cricket for donkey's years, his action is suspect. This guys should be no-balled.

Round arm is perfectly fine, as Malinga also bowls it. It's chucking, which isn't allowed by ICC

He's not even better then saleem elahi. But he's better then anyone Pakistan has produced lol. As bad as our batting is he still won't get in to our team.

He is big chucked and should be no-balled.He is throwing the ball like a discus. His action is more suspect than a five year old.ICC will take no action because it will get blackmailed by BCCI

Kedar Jadhav is a chucker he bowls like he is playing baseball Which comes to my next point he should try out for Indias national baseball team in sure he can maybe help them improve thier ranking

Kedar Jadhav is a waste of space. He is only useful if there is ever a need for a 'third spinner' ,which there isn't in this WC.

Matter of shame that this guy is in while the likes of Rishab Pant are sitting out.

He has 100 percent sr . Plays unusual strokes . He is like Raina at no 5 - plays quick cameos and steadies ship is loss of early wickets . He does the most unglamorous role . A poor mans yuvi .. as tournament progresses , his bowling will be more handy . Slow low turn is hard to get rid of

What did Pant do to deserve a place as a pure batsman? He was competing with DK not Jadhav. Jadhav has picked 27 wickets with ball. India needs 6th bowler. Just because Smith got hold of him this match it doesn't mean he will fail in all the matches.

He is not a bad player but he doesn’t fit the profile of a modern Indian cricketer. He seems like an Indian player from the 90’s, and would fit in better in the Pakistan or the Bangladesh team today.

At the moment he's India first choice. So don't give us that rubbish he will fit in Pakistan. There is no way he would get into our batting even though our batting isn't great.

Jadhav is a very fine player who can phase his inns nicely and can be destructive too.Only problem is that he has been selected way too late and hence is a temporary place holder.Another one is Mayank Agarwal who is far batter than Rohit Sharma w.r.t domestic One dayer performances. Hope Mayank would soon get his chance after the world cup.

He should be given a chance up the order against afganistan and srilanka to get into some kind of form, so in the playoffs he can be useful with the bat too

I feel Shankar also need to get chance.
Against Afghan, let's give rest to dhawan and Rohit. Should try Rahul, Shankar and Jadhav

In ODIs, Kedar Jadhav averages 43 at 102-105 and bowls decently, if not brilliantly. I am sure Pakistan has 6 batsmen with better than this average!!

Kedar is dark Knight of this Indian team...he will do well in knock out games

India is a chasing team and Jadav is a decent chaser. He can bowl a few overs and hits unusual strokes at high SR. I dont see a spot for him post world cup but right now he's the best at no.6 and has proved himself so far.
