More proof of this being true. Shameless Misbah won't rest till we reach the bottom of the rankings.
My major issue with Misbah is not his lack of experience . Is that he is not someone who screams coach. He doesn't really like playing youngsters. His batting wasn't something very technical or something you want to be coached. As a captain he was defensive and didn't really think outside of the box.
Misbah just doesn't come across as someone who would succeed as a coach.
Pretty much this.
You expect an MBA holder to be analytical and open minded as opposed to be single/narrow minded, and also receptive to new ideas. However, ever since he was captain till present, he has proved to be the contrary.
Pakistan deserves the humiliation for appointing him as a Head Coach and Chief Selector.
I would love someone to ask Wasim Khan about why he chose Misbah as coach. And explain to him Misbah not backing young players and his technique as a batter not being one you want to coach. With this information why did Wasim Khan choose Misbah?
In India, he's one of the most well respected Pakistanis.
The reason misbah is respected in India is that whenever pakistani team collapsed he was the one who stayed till the last .Because he has turned this Pakistan team into cowards so they respect him and gave India a helping hand in Mohali and let's not talk about the brain fade paddle shot in T20 final. Yes mans get respected everywhere but sometimes you need abit of aggression especially as captain and coach.
Misbah doesn't back young players?
Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Dropped Sarfaraz for Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Abid Ali (not young but new), Musa, Ahsan Ali (T20), Rauf (T20). In his 1 yr in charge he's played and backed plenty of young and new players. Players are getting chances. At some point players have to step up.
I'm wasn't for the Misbah appointment but he hasn't **** the bed since taking over either. Where was Babar the great in the second innings? Shan? Shadab? Players also need to step up and play innings/take wickets when required.
The reason misbah is respected in India is that whenever pakistani team collapsed he was the one who stayed till the last .
Misbah's odi batting was similar to ms dhoni (2015-2019).
Their stats don't show how ineffective they were and how they let the team down in every occasion.
Players like Jadhav,misbah,dhoni(2015-2019) belong in the same category.
They will play a scratchy innings Whenever they were required to accelerate and in the last overs when there's no hope left they will start hitting sixes and fours to boost up their averages and strike rate and impress their gullible fanbase.
Actually the quote from usual suspects perfectly describe them-
"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince the world it doesn't exists."

Misbah didn’t approve of Shaheen in the beginning of 2019 WC. Later in the tournament, he admitted he was wrong about him. This not only goes to show how inept Misbah’s reading of the game really is, but also if Misbah was captain or coach from 2018 to 2019 WC, he probably wouldn’t even be in the Pakistan squad let alone in the XI.
Picking the odd young player here and there doesn’t cut it when you:
1. Pick Umar Akmal and Shehzad as your first assignment as Head Coach and Chief Selector.
2. Make a declining batsman captain of your test side
3. Have yet to replace Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq in the test team
He also blocked out Babar so he could play useless oldies and himself. Just as well Babar was head and shoulders above everyone else that he couldn't be ignored for long.
In India, he's one of the most well respected Pakistanis.
Anyone remember how as captain of IU Misbah the great gave Babar just two games and sat him out the rest of the season in the first edition of PSL. Good thing Babar was smart and changed teams from the next season. Otherwise if it was left to Misbah our best bat in decades would still be on the bench.
This thread is pretty one-sided today.
Needs some Major and Hawkeye
bro its a hate thread, there is no point in arguing here. If you hate a person, you will believe what you want to believe. Even though alot of the stuff is made up and stupid, but all those points have been argued before,
We lost, emotions are high and people want someone to be blamed, and as usual it would be Misbah. Had he not been coach, he til would had been blamed trust me.
Thing is, the guy is the coach and is here to stay. People can say whatever they want, but fridays line up and game strategy will be decided by that one man and no one could do anything about that. Haters can go cry and even blame misbah for WW2.
The only guy who has an influence and who wil be making decision is Misbah. The rest of the haters could go on social media and post potential line ups, or talk about what they will do if they were coach captain or watever. Some posters try to post hateful comment against him after a couple of hours just to get attention.
In Misbah i trust. I feel confident with whatever decision he takes as he knows better.
Yes. Never forget!
He also left Haris Sohail out of the team for years.

In Misbah we rust. I feel confident with whatever decision he takes as he knows better.
I would love to know as well but also makes you wonder if there is someone higher up than the PCB who was behind his appointment. Without saying his name, I’ll give you a clue, it was the ex-player who didn’t take a liking to Afridi’s captaincy during the 2016 WT20 and would have preferred Misbah to have led the side instead.
You can't really take the process seriously of Misbah being selected as head coach as he was on the panel to decide Mickey Arthur's future and he was being linked with the job.
As Mamoon highlighted earlier in the year, the process was corrupt from the beginning and clearly designed to filter out everyone, so Misbah could secure the role. It was all premeditated.
Misbah is good and I'm behind him. He doesn't deserve this hate. Thought be has made some errors I would agree. Azhar is a bad captain, and certain players need to be dropped.

I don’t think Misbah has shown his worst series yet. This is just the beginning
DNA & USP of Pakistan cricket was aggression which is completely destroyed by Misbah in last 8-9 years , this legacy he has given to Azhar Ali , 117 for 5 and spread the field who does that , this is style of Misbah being copied by Azhar Ali , bitter truth, Those have seen, Pakistan cricket in 80's & 90's they can understand this .
Faiz1978 is right, Azhar's defensive captaincy of captaincy last Saturday mirrored what we used to see from Misbah during his days as skipper.um no it was not.
Its best time to quit watching Pak cricket. Its the most awful phase but I can assure you this isn't the worst. There will be huge backlash from public once Pakistan loses badly to India or gets thumped by Australia or New Zealand in the most vile manner in a multinational tournament . Pakistan haters will intrude on Pakistani social media pages and abuse Pakistan to the max. The indians main aim is to anger and make them feel shame of the team.
One shouldn't take away the credit where its due Misbah is certainly not the worst thing to happen to Pakistan cricket. It is Wasim Khan and Ehsan Mani. They brought him in whatever the mafia pressure upon them its they who decided this. They screwed livelihoods of domestic cricketers. Destroyed their source of income through dept. cricket. Wasim Khan must be thinking his tenure will be smooth sailing once he adheres to the mafias in PCB by bringing in Misbah. They were testing him and they knocked him down on round 1.
I am flabbergasted by the comments of Misbah-ul-Haq and his defenders after his appalling start to his international coaching and international selection careers.
Let's just rewind, shall we?
1. Misbah captained an elderly and underperforming international team.
2. As soon as he retired, Mickey Arthur rejuvenated the white ball teams with young blood, and results improved massively.
3. Misbah engineered the departure of the Head Coach Mickey Arthur.
4. Misbah then applied for BOTH that job - for which he had zero experience at any level - AND the Chief Selector position, and obtained both.
5. He then replaced young players with much older ones, and obtained far poorer results than Mickey Arthur. Goodbye youngsters, hello Iftikhar, Shehzad and Akmal.
And now he tries to shirk responsibility, saying "I didn't coach right-handers to become left-handers".
I'm very sorry, but if you become the most powerful cricket supremo ever, both Head Coach and Chief Selector, the Buck Stops Here.
Misbah is 100% responsible. End of.
It's a turning pitch...
I have a specialist spinner in the team.....
Pace bowlers didn't really fire in the last game......
England are playing 3 spinners (not something he wouldve known obviously).....
Because I am Misbah ul Haq, the greatest strategist who ever lived.
Even if pak win this game by a miracle, this is still rubbish team selection
I will definitely remove him as T20I coach. Not playing your best T20 bat Sharjeel is criminal. Sharjeel should have played all these T20I matches before world cup to get his form back, but Misbah has wasted all these matches by not selecting Sharjeel.![]()

Good and bad coaches come and go. Most of them have some sharam after a few disastrous performance, get sick of the media and quit. This leech will never let it go because all he sees is free money without any accountability. And the pcb with their colonial bootlicking mentality (even to this day) will never let him go because he speaks a few sentences of English (never mind how boring, uninspiring and uninsightful it is).
They just lap all the excuses he comes out with. “Young team”, “covid situation”, “lack of preparation”, “covid situation”, “Young team”….

As much as I dislike Misbah as a coach, the worst thing to happen to Pakistan cricket was Bob Woolmer sadly passing away too soon!
Very sad
But I think Woolmer most likely would have moved on after that World Cup
Chalo bhai. Ghoom phir kar laat Misbah ko hi parti hay. Guys here![]()
Le Misbah: Sharjeel need six pack to play
Also Le Misbah: we want give opportunity to Azam Khan, he fit and strong.
Lol what has misbah done.
Posters looking to hate someone but cant find anyone so ab misbah kay pechay par gaye ho.
Let the guy rest
This one is all on babar.
Misbah never wanted babar as captain in first place. Our ex pm forced this decision
Some ridiculous decisions . No way misbah was better than Mickey . Yes we lost under Mickey but attitude of team and player development was going well . Misbah came back and messed up everything . Rizwan ifti these people all follow misbah school of thought
