If I was a Babar fanboy, the last thing I’d be doing is mentioning performances of other captains.

International teams have moved on from the “accumulators” by picking players based on what they can do in the big games. Players that can change the game in a couple of overs.

Babar will always be the the type of batsman where the opposition captain will be happy to have him on strike. Zero impact on the game, and even when he does score it usually puts the team under more pressure.

Sharjeel clears Babar, the only ones who disagree are the ones who are still stuck in the 90’s brand of cricket.

Pakistan had a solid test record in UAE and in Pakistan when Misbah was in charge. We beat Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and South Africa at home under his watch from 2020-21.

Say what you want, the man knew the local pitches and the team to select better than anyone.

Not a bad decison for red ball, he has a fantastic record as a red ball coach and I think he's our best shot into wtc 2027.

Issue is misbah doesn't wish to settle for red ball. He might try to shove hesson out and become an all format coach which would be a disaster.

I don't mind this

At home, he likes to dominate with spin and that is something that needs to be done

He does struggle abroad, but if you can't get your home record right then no point of thinking about results away

What does Misbah bring to the table as Test match coach???

He is outright defensive kind of 5-5-0 in football. His strategy is obvious load the team with spinners may be 3 spinners and play bowling all rounder like Amir Jamal as lone pacer.

Don't be surprised if he drops Saim Ayub after a couple of Tests to ease nerves of Shan Masood. All in all poor thinking from PCB

I would be absolutely shocked if PCB appoint Saud captain with Misbah as head coach

I did my best to open everyone’s eyes during the Champions Cup drama where Misbah was made coach of Markhors and the side they selected for him with Rizwan captain. It was the template of the Pakistan side they wanted to build under Misbah+Rizwan

These guys know how to make a fool out of Naqvi who isn’t as glued on to cricket issues as much as he is at the national level as interior minister

I hope they give him a proper contract where the whole Test Championship season is covered in that. So it needs to last till 2027. Good thing is that Pakistan wont play Australia in the new test championship.

The schedule again favors us, with the only difficult away series is england while we play NZ and SA at home. He will have to make sure that Pakistan reaches the final this time.

The only difficult part is that our home series are 2 matches each. So either win 1 and draw one, or we need to whitewash all series.

Misbah as captain never went in without 2 pacers in tests even in UAE. Even as a coach, he played 2 spinners, 2 pacers at home in tests. I am not in favor of him becoming the coach. Think split coaching isn't for a team like Pakistan that barely plays enough cricket for foreign coaches to be having problems with the schedule.

Australia starts off with 3 very easy wins against WI and atleast 4 easy wins vs England possibly 5 whitewash.

England is extremely extremely poor in Aussie conditons with their main guns root being useless in Australia. Brooks is the only issue as Spin isn't a factor in aus but their bowling poor.

Australia has it extremely easy for wtc as they can potentially get 8 wins of the bat and logically they should.

Assuming you meet Aus in wtc final, what then? Their has to be a plan to neutralise Australia regardless.

Misbah wants to become a coach so he can open door for his Son! He is doing it for his family not for Pakistan
