Is Pakistan finally finding balance in their T20I XI?

Do you think Pakistan has found the right T20I combination?

Balance??? nay
We have too many passengers in the team... Saim's performance has been questionable, farhan has failed to go big recently as well.

Fakhar is a hit or miss player as well... He got lucky in the last game where he scored 70+ otherwise there was another failure on the cards there..

Mohammad Haris is the 2nd worst player to play for Pakistan after azam khan... Useless and waste of space..

Bowling looks ok.. Not many changes can be made there because replacements are not there.. I would have kept abbas afridi in the squad. but anyway

Just to be fair i excluded stats against associates.

Excluding associates is not fair as in 2025 they have been playing mostly associates.

New batting order every series, Haris playing one day at 7 next at 3. Saim turns out to be an all-rounder, M Nawaz being called best bowler in the world. Agha-Hesson ain’t there yet.

Well yes I was right, this team hasn’t found its balance yet which is why going into this last group game of Asia cup we still don’t know what batting order works for us. Mind you we played a whole tri-series to work that very detail out.

Too many passengers and bits and pieces players.

Funny to claim this bunch was ever going to produce a stable or balanced xi. What poor understanding of the game by anyone who believed in this bunch’s intent chooran.

Tbh Babar and Rizwan wouldn’t have done jack tonight, we miss a dynamic LOI middle order batsman.

The likes of Talat, Agha and Nawaz cannot play against top teams.

Hassan Nawaz has the game but he is completely out of form at the moment.

We are doing the best we can but you have to have everything sorted in order to play top teams.

I’d judge stability and balance by if players know their role, with a new batting order every match the answer to that is pretty clear.

We are generally playing with 5 openers, saim is being groomed as an all-rounder, Hesson thinks Nawaz is the best spinner in the world but doesn’t bowl him, we are playing a specialist captain in 2025.

So no never not Pak is not finding right balance in t20 or any format.

I would drop Agha and Haris. Riz and Babar comes back to the team.
Atleast one of them is coming back for sure. As an opposition i sincerely want this team to play for a few more years. Bangladesh missed a golden opportunity to chase down a pitiful total. If you had stacked your team with batting you could have pulled it off. Indian pace attack in this match looked way worse than BD pace attack against pakistan.

Bowling is balanced (minus Rauf). Just replace Rauf and their T20 bowling attack can be genuinely world class.

Batting needs serious work. You are unlikely to dominate a top 5 team with this batting.

Since the start of the tri-series i have seen M Haris bat at 3,4,6,7 and 8. There is no stability, there is no method to this madness.

To be honest Mohd Haris has not exactly covered himself in glory. He is a one dimensional hack who cannot rotate strike, cannot play spin and cannot bat according to the situation. It is no surprise the team management lacks confidence in him

They need a solid middle order batsman someone who can hit big and can also play conventional cricket

I have seen Abdullah Shafique score big runs for Lahore Qalandars at number 3 many times. Granted PSL's quality is not the same as international cricket but he has good technique, can rotate the strike and can hit big shots when set.

Agree I am just trying to highlight how a hack like him is tried at every position to make him work. If this was a stable team, guys would know their roles. Constant changes show there is no template whatsoever.

Pakistan needs to play specialist batsmen and specialist bowlers and max one allrounder.

For God sake, quit with this culture of packing your team with bits and pieces players who can neither bowl or bat. It’s no wonder the only meaningful runs tonight came from Farhan & Fakhr, only players who were in the team as pure batsmen.

Hesson is definitely not the right coach for us as he has no idea how to balance this side and is relying on certified bits and pieces players who have failed miserably before as well.

Pak needs to aggressively rotate youngsters to see who belongs or can belong to international cricket and who can’t, it’s not hard to figure out if the player belongs to international cricket or not just for comparison sake take Saim Ayub and Irfan Khan as an example, even though Saim failed horribly in this Asia cup he still far ahead then Irfan Khan who just doesn’t belong to International Cricket despite having better stats.

I would say, even with the longer run in AC, it has opened the door for Babar and Rizwan's return to the white ball team. I am still on the fence if that is good or bad!

Hopefully PCB will keep the opening pair intact and not put Ayub back in there. Ayub should be continued with. But he has a very very thin line. So, thin that he should only be given one more series. That's it.

As for the middle order, it seems very weak both mentally and ability wise. Which is why the door has opened for Babar and Rizwan. Needs a complete makeover.

Bowling wise, Rauf seems the bad wheel. But he is in the Ayub category. Give him one more chance. Rest are good enough to stay. But Pak. need one more fast bowler in the ranks. Need to find that one.

Yes. We have found a team of 11 passengers. Agha-Hesson have the eye for bits and pieces.
Tbf, even i can't be biased anymore brother.

Yes PK got into the final but it was pure luck. Had they won yesterday it would have been luck again.

CT 2017 to 2019 era was different once fakhar zaman replaced Shehzad.

Fakhar, Azhar, Hafeez, Babar, Malik, Haris sohail, Sarfaraz, Imad Wasim were all proper batsmen with Amir, Hasan Ali, Shadab Khan, Shaheen and a few others were all proper bowlers at the time.

Pakistan didn't beat any side in a convincing manner and struggled life and limb vs every other team.

The whole tournament was carried by Faheem, Fakhar, Nawaz, Shaheen and Farhan.

Saim, Haris(excluding minnows bash), Agha, Talat, Rauf, and many others were god damn useless.

PK was basically playing with 2 batters and 2 bowlers throughout the tournament.

The spin attack wasnt that great either. Saim, Nawaz, abrar were mostly lucking out rather then dominating during the middle stages.

We were playing with literally no batsmen, the lower order kept adding runs to post just about respectable totals.

Middle order against quality bowling will do nothing, need to change them.

What was most disappointing was the amount of cricket Talat and Salman have played, yet neither had the braincells to figure out they will mess up if they went for a 200+ score on this pitch.
