PML-N party act like personal property of Sharif family:
  • Nawaz Sharif is founder and leader of the party.
  • His younger brother Shahbaz Sharif is president of party and leader of opposition in National Assembly.
  • Shahbaz Sharif's son Hamza Sharif is leader of party in Pakistan's biggest province Punjab and leader of opposition in Punjab Assembly.
  • Nawaz Sharif's daughter Maryam Nawaz is consider next leader of PML-N in making after her father and is in silent struggle with her uncle Shahbaz Sharif for the leadership.
  • Maryam Nawaz's son Junaid Safdar is consider next generation leader of party after her mother / uncle's era.
  • Some other family members are also set in the party.

PML-N party is morally and financially corrupt:
  • Sharif family and its party people are involved in money laundering, kickbacks and tax evasions.
  • The founder Nawaz Sharif has properties and bank balances in 5 continents. Everyone is loaded but fails to provide clean money trails.
  • They are the biggest liars Pakistan has ever seen. Maryam Nawaz famously said that she has no property in Pakistan or anywhere else while she has atleast 1 billion Rs. worth of property.
  • Their party people would illegally occupy government land and will cry victim if government took the land back.

Is PML-N the worst political party Pakistan ever produced? They have done some good things but bad far outweigh good. On top of that they give impression that their party is more Islamic

Why have you changed your tune. You was one of the biggest Nooras on here

Oh boy! :facepalm

In a country with PPP, Q-League and Molanna Diesal, MQM(literall indian assets) (and in a couple of years we'll add PTI to that list just wait and watch
People are just going through a phase)
PMLN is the worst party...

But you know let the fun begin it'll be hunger games in couple of hours so I thaught Id get my response in early
Back to lurking...

I am yet to see a good party in Pakistan. From 2010 to 2018, I thought the PTI would be a competent and robust party and I supported them fully but they have been a massive disappointment. It is a party full of tried and tested failures, dishonest politicians, corrupt industrialists, and incompetent ministers.

Ideally, I would vote for a party led by Jibran Nasir but he is not popular because he promotes co-existence, tolerance, justice and human rights. These are the attributes that are despised by the majority.

In short, there is no competent political entity in Pakistan right now. All are the same.

Are the rest really much better? Several of the points you've raised are almost equally applicable to the PPP. In fact, while being corrupt to the core, PMLN actually developed some infrastructure in Lahore/Rawalpindi (no doubt sending millions to their coffers in the process). PPP have pretty much done nothing for the country, and hundreds of things against it.

Z.A.B destroyed the Pakistani economy and then Zia came along and took us to the dark ages with both his policies, and his creation of the disaster that was Nawaz Sharif

I don’t know about it being the worst as PPP, JUIF, PMLQ etc seem to be all different covers of the same book. I will say that PMLN does have the dumbest leadership of all the parties, especially Nawaz and now Maryam. They have literally destroyed their own party with their stupidity.

I partially agree but realistically PTI had to make a compromise to get into power. There was no way around it.

The party hasn’t met expectations but atleast the leader has shown some sort of spine when dealing with internal or external matters.

Both the PPP and PML exist to make money for their owners. Neither has any ideology and never will. In a bizarre situation yesterday, Maryam came to support land grabbers in Lahore, yes you read right. A leader of a political party openly supported a family of land grabbers.

PMLN was not a political party it was just a group of people Zia brought together against PPP. The only platform they had was that they were not PPP or against PPP. Once PPP was able to get PMLN princess in waiting to say Jiye Bhutto it committed suicide and now is in its death spiral. A large portion of the parliamentarians from Punjab are opportunists and change parties to who they see will come to power. Once they see that PMLN has no future they will be gone.

Believe it or not I would say no. For me the PPP will always be the worst. Yes nawaz and co have looted and done some pretty nasty things. But the PPP destroyed the very fabric of the country. Bhutto's arrogance sent us to Hell from 1971 onwards. Their nationalisation policy proved to be a disaster. Then the emergence of Zia during the cold war just made things worse. i grew up during the Zia era and I remember many people hated Bhutto and blamed him for 71.

Then when his daughter came it was one disaster after another. Her handing over of the Sikh plan to the Indians was the last straw which broke the camels back.

From 99 onwards the sharif clan have been as bad if not worse than the zardaris. I cant say one is worse than the other.

Ultimately we have still not truly recovered fully from partition and 71.

Finally with regards to PTI, many saying they havent met expectations. Well depends what your expectations were. If you thought you would go to sleep and wake up to a beautiful pakistan that looks like Turkey or Europe then I suggest you stay asleep.

You cannot change a country like pakistan in two years. At least he has brought in universal healthcare and is trying to do something. i hope he is given time.

TLP are looking for a role- they are jealous of the Deoband parties like JUIF and JI and their power and want a piece of the cake.

They’re already the fourth largest party in the country by vote count after PTI, PMLN, PPP, and you only need to take one look at Khadim Rizvi’s funeral pictures to be absolutely terrified.

These guys burn down cars, torch homes, beat minorities, and claim peace. Rizvi’s death has given him somewhat of a cult following now as well, as if he was a shaheed.

If this party continues to grow, we will have far bigger problems on our hands than Nawaz smuggling away half our treasury.

I wouldnt worry about them. Once you enter Pakistani politics, the game changes. Then the boys start looking at you differently.

There is only one ruling power in Pakistan that keeps using these parties as a front. However, the worst political party is not PML-N but extremist TLP party which will hopefully now be disbanded now that Rizvi has died.

ISLAMABAD: Majority of PML-N leaders have opposed PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's suggestion to initiate no-confidence motions against Prime Minister Imran Khan, sources told Geo.tv.

The development came during a joint parliamentary meeting of PML-N's MNAs and senators chaired by Maryam Nawaz at the August House today. It was attended by Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Raja Zafar ul Haq, Ahsan Iqbal, and Rana Sanaullah, among others, while photos representing Shahbaz Sharif and Khawaja Asif were placed on chairs in a bid to show solidarity to the imprisoned party leaders.

According to sources, the party members said a no-confidence motion would be contradictory to former premier Nawaz Sharif's stance. They also pointed out that a majority is required in assemblies to make a no-confidence motion successful and lamented having to engage "with those who we want out" of the Parliament.

Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed said the party should adopt an effective strategy both inside and outside the Parliament while Ali Gohar said the party will stand behind Maryam Nawaz when needed.

Sources said Maryam said she will present the party's stance on no-confidence motion before the Pakistan Democratic Movement and the final decision will be taken by the 11-party Opposition alliance.

Last month, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had suggested the PDM bring no-confidence motions against the PTI governments at the Centre and in the provinces as part of the Opposition alliance's anti-government campaign.

Senate polls
Sources also told Geo.tv that Maryam informed the party's parliamentary group of the decision to contest the Senate elections and majority of the party leaders supported the move.

Earlier, the party also announced it would take part in by-polls.

Late last year, the 11-party Opposition alliance had sought resignations from all its lawmakers from the Parliament and provincial assemblies. The deadline was January 31.

But earlier this month, the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had decided to not only take part in by-polls but also in the Senate elections.

When are they resigning?

PMLN is actually the 2nd best party in Pakistan. That just sums up the quality in Pakistan.
We have political parties run by UN designated terrorists as well as the multiple fake molvis from all these extremist so called islamic parties.
Pakistani poltics is a jungle. Wild animals out there.

I know they have no sympathy towards Ahmadis and or government funding campaigns for other minority religions, i.e. Hindu temple in Islamabad.

But not witnessed any violence against minorities from them. Neither any burning down cars or homes. Do share any source if you have please.

Scared or not, they have a huge street power, especially from rural punjab and Karachi so not so easy to eliminate them.

Just yesterday I read in news election commission has cleared them of all doubts raised about their finance.

Last time, when TLP goons hit the roads in Nov 2018, they burned cars and looted shops. There are videos also. They even snatched bananas from a child fruit vendor. Despicable party!

The TLP’s narrative of Sar Tun Say Juda has inspired many to carry out killings of alleged blasphemers. Two recent cases being of a bank manager being killed by his guard and an Ahmedi being gunned inside a courtroom.

Also from personal experience they rioted and burned cars and tires in Lahore just some streets from my house.

You are right about street power, that’s why I’m scared. They already have the votes to make up 4th largest party and with the decline of PMLN, PPP, JUI, I fully expect their votebank to increase now that Rizvi has achieved cult status after death.

One of my friend is hardcore supporter of TLP.

He sends me videos of TLP new leader, hafiz saad (rizvis son) raising voice for the Shia’s of Hazara.

Or Rizvi speeches about being patriotic pakistani, especially his last speech where he address establishments.

And distancing themselves from any kind of unlawful activities.

So i can only applaud in response to my friend.

If we go by violence then I’m sure even ppp pmln and pti has in the past too had incidents of creating chaos and disturbing lives of people.

The government needs to dialogue well with them and if Imran is wise then he can definitely get them on board and put final nail in the coffin for ppp and pmln crooks.

Next elections are going to be very interesting.

Well even Hitler made some excellent speeches that called for unity and peace and prosperity. Khadim Rizvi is indirectly responsible for inciting a lot of blasphemy killings (Ahmedis especially but also Christians and Hindus) and this was at a particular height during the Asia bibi case.

Ask your friend, does he also agree Asia bibi should have been put to death?

Does your friend also agree that Mumtaz Qadri was right in murdering Salman Taseer (TLP led the movement on venerating Qadri, and this movement is one of the major reasons for the party coming to prominence between 2015-2017).

Khadim Rizvi was a skilled orator and had some very sweet words to say, and I don’t blame your friend for being a supporter in that sense. However, there is a much darker side to his beliefs and you should probably warn your friend about these things.

PTI can't get them on board and they don't need to either (most TLP voters used to be PML N supporters so TLP's emergence has helped PTI). TLP is a natural opposition to PTI, they have cashed on the decline on PPP, PML N and attracted the ultra conservatist vote bank.. With that being said, parties like TLP can never form government in any province.

On topic, these are my rankings of worst Pakistani parties,

1. PPP
2. MQM
3. PML N
4. ANP
5. JUI F

Pmln had some good politicians in the past (still like Nisar ali), however Maryam nawaz and Maryam aurengzeb are making it look like they’re the worst. And this statement is coming from a guy who historically always supported PML-N (in 90s).

I would say so, yes. A party founded as an "anti-PPP" group, with complete support of a dictator on its back can hardly be called ideological. Been strongly right-wing with backing to/from militant groups. Turning a blind eye to sectarianism. And most recently, pandering to India at the expense of national security concerns...

Senior PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says there is no fault to find with the PML-N for the 2018 general election defeat. He said the PML-N walked into the elections on the basis of its best five-year performance.

Abbasi's remarks come a day after PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif had asserted that the party lost the previous general election as it did not have the "right strategy". He held the party itself responsible for the election rout.

In an interview on Jirga with Saleem Safi on Sunday, Shehbaz had asserted that Nawaz Sharif would have been elected prime minister for a fourth time if PML-N leaders had made a unanimous strategy in the pre-2018 election period.

Speaking on Geo News programme Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath on Monday, Abbasi proposed setting up a truth commission to dig into what happened in the 2018 elections and the harm it has caused the country.

Differing from what Shehbaz said, Abbasi asserted the PML-N contested the election after five years of its best performance and so, the PML-N is not to blame for the defeat.

"We should learn lessons from the past and move forward if Pakistan has to make some real progress," Shehbaz had said in his interview.

He also pinpointed that politicians sought personal interests throughout the history of Pakistan, allowed themselves to be used and pulled each other's legs. According to Shehbaz, blame is shared by all and not a single person or institution can be singled out.

Abbasi did not openly defy what Shehbaz had spelt out. Commenting on the opposing narratives from Shehbaz, Nawaz and his daughter Maryam Nawaz, Abbasi said politics admits of neither resistance nor reconciliation and it is the principles instead. Shehbaz has always supported running the country in accordance with the Constitution, he said.

Commenting on Shehbaz's remarks about criticism of the military leadership by Nawaz, Abbasi said Shehbaz only meant to explain Nawaz's remarks. He said Shehbaz also mentioned Imran Khan went overboard against the army before coming into power, adding that the PML-N supremo did not criticise the army as a whole.

He repeated his demand that a truth commission be set up, saying it is the only way to dispel the confusion. The [former] chiefs of the ISI and army bring facts to light by writing books and giving interviews and the situation kicks up more confusion, he added.

The former premier said that there is a single narrative of Nawaz Sharif and the party, adding that Nawaz always wants every institution to function within its constitutional limits and the country to be run as per the Constitution. No compromise is possible on law and the Constitution, Abbasi said.

He also said the PML-N will win the upcoming general elections if the masses are allowed to vote in a free and fair election. "If elections continue to be stolen, our country will remain in doldrums," he said.

The PML-N leader emphasised that rigging does not happen solely on election day. In fact, it starts before the elections.

The PML-N recently witnessed defeats in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections and a by-poll in Sialkot as an aggressive narrative led by Maryam Nawaz could not pay off, despite the fact that she pulled in large gatherings in the recent elections. Shehbaz completely avoided electioneering in AJK.

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Nawaz Sharif said on Monday his party’s struggle was not just winning or losing a few seats, but to “free ourselves” from the bondage of the violators of the Constitution and to stand on the right side of history without compromising the self-esteem.

Nawaz’s comments are seen as an apparent rebuff of his younger brother Shehbaz Sharif’s statement in a recent interview about political reconciliation. Though, Nawaz did not mention his brother in his tweets but those clearly appeared to be in response to Shehbaz’s interview.

During the TV interview aired on Sunday, the PML-N president responded to questions about his policy of reconciliation vis-a-vis his brother’s policy of confrontation. The PML-N president had said: “If we are to take this country forward, we have to rise above our personal likes and dislikes.”

Talking about burying the hatchet and national reconciliation, Shehbaz said that the PML-N could have come to power in 2018, if the party had properly strategised. “We should leave our personal egos behind and direct all our energies towards resolving issues of the country,” he added.

Nawaz took to micro-blogging website, Twitter, on Monday to rebuff his younger brother’s comments. “Any attempt to create a disconnect between the PML-N and the people will not succeed,” the former prime minister said.

Nawaz further wrote in his tweets that the “dubious nature” of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) victory in the Azad Kashmir polls was obvious from the fact that the six winning PML-N candidates cumulatively bagged around 0.5m votes, while the 26 winning PTI candidates received 0.6m votes.

“Who will believe in such a victory for the PTI? The manner in which these results were obtained in Azad Kashmir and Sialkot were exposed even before the election. [This rigging] will be further exposed in the days to come,” Nawaz wrote in a series of tweets.

Nawaz said that skyrocketing inflation, poverty and unemployment were “crushing the masses”. “While the government functionaries are addressing empty chairs at public meetings, the PML-N is holding historic rallies [which is a proof of its popularity],” he claimed.

It has been noticed during the past several weeks that Shehbaz is being pushed to the back seat by Nawaz’s daughter Maryam Nawaz, who has been steering the party and even led the Azad Kashmir election campaign. This triggered rumours that Shehbaz was not happy with her style of politics.

In Sunday’s interview, Shehbaz was asked about Nawaz and Maryam’s criticism of the establishment. Shehbaz responded with very lengthy answer, saying that “things are said in the heat of emotions”.

The PTI won the AJK polls after taking 26 of the 45 seats in the July 25 general election. The party routed the PML-N which could only secure 6 seats. The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) emerged the second largest party with 10 seats.

Interestingly, the PML-N was the second largest party in terms of vote cast. Out of 3.2 million registered voters in the AJK and 613,590 or 32.5% voted for the PTI, while 491,099 or25% people voted for the PML-N candidates. The PPP bagged 349,895 or 18.2% votes.

The PML-N, which was ruling the region for the last 5 years, has rejected the results and accused the PTI of large-scale rigging. The opposition party has also announced a protest movement in and outside Pakistan.

https://www.geo.tv/latest/366474-ahsan-iqbal-challenges-pti-to-prove-even-32-paisas-of-corruption-of-alleged-rs3200-billion

PML-N Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal on Sunday criticised the PTI-led government for accusing his party leadership of corruption and challenged them to prove even 32 paisas worth of corruption of the Rs3,200 billion the party has been accused of engaging in.

Addressing a press conference with PML-N leaders, Iqbal said: "A new scandal was created against me and Shahbaz Sharif yesterday, in which it was said that my brother was awarded contracts."

He vowed to "fight the false cases".

Iqbal further stated that "there were no political prisoners in the PML-N era and no one was subject to political revenge".

Iqbal said that it was the PML-N's mistake that no action was taken against Imran Khan and PTI in their time. He added that PTI leaders "should have been sent to jail and punished".

"The country's debt increased by more than Rs1 trillion, people are witnessing the worst inflation.

"Who says that Imran Khan is honest?" Iqbal asked.

He further stated that "Imran Khan is a patron of the mafia".

The PML-N leader proclaimed that he gives more income tax than the premier yet lives in a rented house.

PML-N's spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb noted that after Lahore's National Accountability Bureau (NAB), now Rawalpindi's NAB has summoned the PML-N leadership.

"This is a corrupt gang whose patron is Imran Khan," Aurangzeb said.

She questioned why the mastermind behind projects worth Rs3.3 trillion has been accused of planting 4.5 million saplings. "The NAB-Niazi nexus can not prove a penny's worth of corruption," she claimed.

Discussing the performance of PTI, Aurangzeb said that Lahore is "barren" and Punjab has been turned into a "heap of garbage".

Aurangzeb further said: "Those who sold off the country are looking into contracts given by Shahbaz Sharif to Ahsan Iqbal's brother."

She added that those who fill the pockets of the "mafia" are rewarded and "after the NAB-Niazi nexus, an Imran-FIA nexus has been established".

Aurangzeb said that in the last three years, NAB, Imran Khan, and Shahzad Akbar all tried to prove corruption allegations against PML-N leaders but none were successful.

Following the statements by PML-N leaders, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill released a video response.

Gill said that Marriyum Aurangzeb is saying that the PML-N was called out for "only 450 million rupees".

"Did the 450 million belong to someone's father? Did they [the PML-N leadership] bring the money from home that they cannot be questioned?" Gill asked.

He added that the "Nawaz Sharif mindset" is still prevelant today.

Gill alleged that the "work of a gardener" was given to Ahsan Iqbal's brother for hundreds of millions.

The PM's aide asked whether one is to actually believe that Shahbaz Sharif "saved Rs1,000 billion for himself and his sons".

Gill accused Ahsan Iqbal of awarding several contracts to his brother when he was the Minister of Planning.

"All these people will have to answer [for their crimes]," he said.

The problem with Pakistan, in a nutshell, is that the detractors of NS are content with accusing him of stealing money.

They have nothing to say how to get conditions that will lead entrepreneurs producing wealth, other than some wishful thinking that if PPP/PML "corruption" is ended then the economy will flourish.

Rather than practical plans of how to get foreign investment to build modern industries, it is abuse of NS non-stop (usually from some foreign land).

It has been quite a few years that PTI has been in power, it is time to deliver rather than just blaming the previous governments.

Blaming the previous governments for current non-performance is really quite a pathetic excuse.

Have you found out how the LNG is priced in PK?🤣

Have you found out how the LNG is priced in PK?

Stop being foolish. There is nothing especially esoteric about LNG pricing compared to other commodities.

You compared LNG contracts in 2015 to 2021 without taking into account that prices over the medium term had tanked. Compare average LNG prices from 2010-2014 to 2016-20 and you will find a huge price drop. This would have a big impact on whatever long-term contracts would have been entered into in 2015 and 2021.

If you can't even get this simple idea about economics right, there is no hope for you.

Get some real solutions about how to modernize the Pakistani economy NOW rather than sitting in the UK complaining about previous Pakistani governments while people living in Pakistan have to deal with inflation and a stagnant economy.

No more replies about the issue of LNG, whichever thread you may bring it up on.

Lol you were utterly humiliated on that thread

And par for the course reply of ‘No more replies’ and then running away with your tail between your legs when called out

PPP was a party that lost there way after bhutto was hanged, after bibi was assinated it got butchered and hijacked. MQM, PMLN and PMLQ was just a group of thugs put together by the military establishment, JUI was another party of thugs of the religious establishment.
PTI was the only geniune party till the establishment got hold of them and inserted there thugs into them.

https://tribune.com.pk/story/2317748/no-other-govt-has-received-as-much-support-from-establishment-as-pti-shehbaz

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Monday claimed that the establishment has not given the level of support to any other government in the country's history as it has given to the current PTI-led government.

Shehbaz' remarks came as he visited Mazar-e-Quaid during his visit to the port city. "Those of whom the people vote into power should be given the opportunity to serve them," he remarked.

The PML-N chief also stated the incumbent government is "incapable and ineligible". "They have come [into power] through a backdoor."

The PML-N president said the opposition did not want resistance or reconciliation, but only "transparent elections".

"We have demanded that the 2023 general elections be held transparently."

Recalling the tenure of the previous government, Shehbaz said, "The 20-hour daily load-shedding in the country didn't vanish magically; it was eliminated due to Nawaz Sharif's hard work and struggle."

To a question related to Karachi's development, the former chief minister said, "Smaller provinces won't progress until the country progresses. The green-line bus project was a gift of the PML-N for the people of Karachi."

While responding to another question, Shehbaz said, "[Pakistan] People's Party is a political party and a reality."

"I was chosen as the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly by all political parties and it is my responsibility to take every party on board," he concluded.

A day earlier, leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) – an alliance of opposition parties – announced marching towards Islamabad “with a sea of people” to topple the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

https://tribune.com.pk/story/2317942/shehbaz-says-national-govt-idea-was-his-personal-view

Shehbaz Sharif, the opposition leader in the National Assembly, has clarified that the idea of a national government was his “personal view”, and not of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), according to his party’s spokesperson.

Shehbaz on Monday floated the idea of a national government to steer the country out of troubled waters because no single party could single-handedly take on the challenges faced by Pakistan. He was speaking during a meeting with the representatives of media bodies in Karachi.

PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said in a statement that Shehbaz Sharif had made a “passing remark” that if the people of Pakistan again elected the PML-N to power in the next elections, “in his personal view he would not mind inviting other political parties, excluding PTI, to contribute towards solving the massive crisis created by the Imran Khan government over their disastrous tenure in government”.

“Any news item carried by any news media stating otherwise is a misrepresentation of what the PML-N president said,” according to the party spokesperson.

The clarification came a day after Shehbaz’s idea made headlines in the national media and triggered a guessing game about a change of heart in the main opposition party which has challenged the PTI rule since the last general elections.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday said the solution to Pakistan's problems was democracy, accepting the majority's opinion and rule of law in a rebuff to PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif's idea of a national government to solve the country's issues.

In a candid conversation with journalists outside Quaid-i-Azam's mausoleum on Monday, the PML-N president had said he was convinced that the solution to problems plaguing the country lay in a national government.

"I think we should have a national government in place to sort out these huge tasks. I don’t know what the exact shape of this idea would be and the right time may make things clearer but for me it’s crucial," he had said.

Questioned on the suggestion during his press conference in Islamabad following a meeting of the federal cabinet, the information minister rubbished the idea, saying: "The solution to Pakistan's problems is democracy, accepting the majority's decision and implementation of law. If the law is acted upon then Shehbaz Sharif will be in Adiala jail instead of Mazar-i-Quaid."

https://tribune.com.pk/story/2320842/two-brothers-quarrel-and-party-falls-into-chaos-hammad-mocks-pml-n

Energy Minister Hammad Azhar has taken an indirect jibe at his rival political party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), saying “family owned political parties are so superficial”.

“Two brothers quarrel and the party falls into chaos. And the minions are left clueless and irrelevant, thinking which side will eventually win,” the ruling PTI minister wrote on his Twitter handle while referring to the alleged differences between Nawaz and Shehbaz.

His statement comes amid reports of rifts within the PML-N gained credence when PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz remained absent during party meetings that were presided over by party supremo Nawaz Sharif from London via video link earlier this week.

On Thursday, PML-N held a divisional meeting in Lahore to organise the party at the union council level. The meeting was attended by PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz, General Secretary Ahsan Iqbal Punjab President Rana Sanaullah among other party leaders.

Interestingly, PML-N MPA from Bahawalpur Khalid Mehmood Baber told The Express Tribune that the party president was scheduled to preside over the session to their knowledge.

“But for reason not known to us, he [Shehbaz] could not attend the meeting,” he added.

Denying the reports of any discord within party ranks, Shehbaz’s spokesperson Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan while talking to The Express Tribune had said that there was no need for party president to participate in every meeting.

A well-placed source within the party claimed that Shehbaz was being sidelined in his own party and was not allowed to speak his mind out in public. Every such attempt has been met with reprisal from within the party, it said.

The source noted that Shehbaz’s absence from the DG Khan meeting was an “escalation of a war of narratives” in the party. It said Nawaz wanted to advance his narrative in the party and did not want to give any space to the narrative of reconciliation.

The source said it seemed things had come to a “tipping point” in the party and added that “soon this divide would be at a point of no return”.

https://dunyanews.tv/en/Pakistan/621574-Sheikh-Rashid-sees-PML-N-splitting-into-three-groups

Federal Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Monday said that he had predicted two years ago that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will split into two groups but now it seems that the party will be divided into three groups.

Talking to media persons in federal capital, the minister said that there is unrest in PML-N and now family disputes of the leadership are out in the open and are affecting the politics of the party. History is full of such infighting in the Mughal families, he added.

Talking about cancellation of New Zealand cricket team tour, the minister said that soon people involved in the conspiracy against Pakistan will be exposed.

Sheikh Rashid further said that Pakistan has laid down over 80,000 lives in fight against terrorism and Pakistan Army is always ready to defend the country and fight terrorism.

The minister also informed that funds of two billion rupees are being released to further upgrade the cyber security system.

He said this will help induct technical people for the cyber security as there has been an increase in cyber threats with about one hundred thousand complaints received in his tenure.

The Interior Minister said it has also been decided to introduce e-passports in the country and a summary is being forwarded to the federal cabinet for approval to add fifteen more countries in the list whose citizens will be provided with visas on arrival.

He said these countries include the United States, Canada, France and Iran.

https://www.dawn.com/news/1667028/case-registered-in-gun-attack-on-pml-n-mpa-bilal-yasin-in-lahore

Lahore police on Saturday registered a case against unidentified men over a gun attack on PML-N MPA Bilal Yasin the previous night.

The provincial lawmaker was injured in the attack in Lahore's Salamat Mohalla on Mohni Road on Friday. Lahore police operations wing spokesperson had said in a statement that two unidentified men on a motorcycle had opened fire on Yasin, following which he was taken to Mayo Hospital.

PML-N MPA Khawaja Imran Nazeer had later told Dawn.com that Yasin was visiting a PML-N worker Mian Ikram Kami's house to attend a meeting of party workers. Two unidentified men had opened fire on him outside Kami's residence as a result of which Yasin sustained wounds in the abdomen and one of his legs, Nazeer added.

Later, Mayo Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Iftikhar Qureshi had said Yasin was under treatment but that his condition was out of danger.

The first information report (FIR) of the incident was registered today on the MPA's complaint at Data Darbar police station under Sections 34 (common intention) and 324 (attempted murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The FIR said Yasin was visiting Kami's along with another person. The three were talking outside Kami's residence when two unidentified individuals approached them on a motorcycle, mounted off and fired at Yasin with intent to kill.

The FIR added that the MPA's friends rushed him to Mayo Hospital for treatment. Yasin requested for action to be taken against the culprits and said they were around 20 to 25 years of age, adding that he would be able to identify them if they were presented before him.

Qureshi told Dawn.com that Yasin was operated on and moved to the hospital's Surgical Tower's intensive care unit. He said the bullet that hit Yasin in the abdomen had not affected any organs but the MPA did suffer a bone fracture of the hip, which was subsequently operated on.

"Bilal Yasin has been restricted from eating and drinking but he is talking. His condition is out of danger," the doctor said.

Meanwhile, PML-N leader Ayaz Sadiq visited the MPA at the hospital. He said Yasin was a "man of the people" and the attack on him was regrettable.

Sadiq questioned why the culprits were still not caught despite CCTV cameras installed in the city. "The administration should have traced the culprits overnight," he said.

The PML-N leader said it would have to be checked whether the cameras were even functioning or not, reiterating his question about how the culprits had managed to evade safe city cameras.

"Such an attack on any citizen is inappropriate," Sadiq said.

PML-N MNA Rana Tanveer Hussain and MPA Pir Ashraf Rasool also visited Yasin at the hospital.

Meanwhile, Yasin said he was unaware of the identities of his assailant and that at the time of the attack he was going around his constituency as he routinely did.

Cosying up to establishment proved 'kiss of death' for PML-N

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) chastening defeat in the Punjab by-polls has forced the party to rethink its strategy and narrative for reviving its political fortunes, and a major leadership reshuffle is expected in the coming days.

PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif has, over the past few days, held extensive consultations with senior party leaders on the reasons behind the Punjab debacle and is said to have concluded that it was the result of the absence of effective leadership and the abandonment of his trademark ‘anti-establishment narrative’.

“The elder Sharif believes that the pro-establishment stance adopted by the party was the kiss of death,” a party leader who had spoken to Nawaz recently, told Dawn.

While the leadership reshuffle is expected to take place in coming weeks, there are already hints that the party is shifting gears and trying to reclaim the anti-establishment narrative, which its leaders strongly feel has been successfully taken over by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).

Statements by Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who was once seen as Nawaz Sharif’s heir apparent, are already pointing to PML-N readying to re-embrace their anti-establishment approach. It is worth noting that Ms Sharif is reportedly poised to get an even more key role in the upcoming reshuffle

In a conversation with Dawn, PML-N leader Muhammad Zubair confirmed that the party would see a return of ‘resistance character’ in its politics.

“We have been at the receiving end for long. This cannot happen anymore,” he said.

Though Nawaz Sharif, after his 2017 ouster from power, kept the party in contention through his strong ‘Mujhe Kyon Nikala’ rhetoric, PML-N remained split between hawks and moderates.

The latter, led by current prime minister Shehbaz Sharif, were of the opinion that the route to return to power corridors lay in reconciling with the security establishment after dropping the confrontational posture.

Observers contend that Punjab has always respected defiance and had empathy for the underdog. However, the province donned pro-establishment colours because of status-quo politicians, who emerged from the non-party elections of 1985, under former dictator Ziaul Haq.

PML-N’s own demons with anti-establishment narratives are due to the fact that its ranks are also made up of a number of politicians who have “benefitted from patronage”.

The Nawaz-League had, by the middle of last year, significantly toned down its anti-establishment rhetoric after moderates prevailed within the party with the stance that prospects of success in 2023 polls depended on mending fences with the military.

Their rationale was based on the widespread perception that Punjab was an overtly pro-establishment province.

The approach apparently paid off much earlier than expected, when PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif succeeded Mr Imran Khan, who was ousted through a vote of no-confidence in National Assembly.

But many now question that logic, especially after Mr Khan, who is said to have risen to power with establishment’s help, made a comeback by bashing US and the establishment.

Where PML-N had used innuendo such as ‘khalai makhlooq’ to refer to the powers that be, Mr Khan invented the phrase “neutrals” to attack the military leadership for its role in politics and used characters like ‘Mr X’ and ‘Mr Y’ to point to the hands involved in meddling.

PML-N leaders say that the battle of narratives not only undermined the party in its Punjab stronghold, but damaged its prospects badly in Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa as well.

Party leaders from KP have complained to Mr Nawaz Sharif that PM Shehbaz has “outsourced” the party in the province to JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman.

A party leader, while emphasising the gravity of the situation, said it was probably the worst crisis for the PML-N since the Musharraf coup. “There is lot of demoralisation,” he added.

He said that the crisis was two-fold; on one hand they were losing their base to PTI, while on the other hand its supporters were confused about what their party stood for. Moreover, the party fears that it would not have anything to sell to the constituents after the latest economic meltdown.

A party source said that Mr Nawaz Sharif was “deeply worried” and “little convinced” by the various explanations given by the senior leaders for the poor showing in the recent Punjab by-polls.

According to his calculations, the source said, PTI bagged over a million votes against PML-N’s 850,000 in elections in 20 Punjab constituencies.

Nawaz has, therefore, decided to go for leadership reshuffle, which may see Maryam Nawaz being elevated to a more powerful position.

Sitting in London, he still believes Maryam is the next best option to take the “bull by the horns” as long as he is away.

However, Mr Zubair said the party was seeking a “level playing field” ahead of the next elections and a key part of that strategy was to get Nawaz back to Pakistan.

The Nooras alliance with Bajwa for short term relief has ended up as a noose around their necks. On the one hand they tell us everything was halal and then they tell us that the establishment hasn't rewarded then for their alliance. Many Nooras also feel that AZ is taking revenge for his years of torture at the hands of the Sharifs. Either way, they are now desperate and totally reliant on AZ and Bajwa. But as they also will realise adding 10,0000 rigged votes, wasn't enough and won't be in the GE

According to sources NS and Maryam wanted early elections after over throwing IK but Shahbaz, Hamza wanted power first and wanted to quash their cases and now NS is unhappy with his brother for the damage his tenure has caused to PML N so far

100% yes. PML-N over the past 30 years has done more damage than PPP and MQM combined as well.

I hope he gives Maryam a bigger role in the party. She is the biggest reason for the party's collapse and for it becoming a national joke

Maybe you can explain the relevance of these images?

It's self-explanatory.

pmln ppp and fazlur are traitors, they misuse government resources to illegally hold onto power.

Clearly, the majority of Pakistanis are against them.

Yet they refuse to see the writing on the wall and are using all sorts of illegal tactics which include maligning institutions to continue the looting.

Almost all their ancestors were against the creation of Pakistan, this image illustrates that they make no qualms about hiding their enmity towards Pakistan, using portraits of their party leaders and not of the Quaid. In contrast, PTI leaders always use Quaids portraits, which shows where their loyalty lies.

PMLN corruption and fraud has reached UK shores.

Their vice president in the UK involved in fraud while abusing the students loan scheme where he created fake students who are in reality illegally working there. He kept the money allotted to the students for himself and probably used it for pmlns corruption. Everywhere these haram khors go,they abuse, defraud and loot.

PML-N given a week to hold intra-party elections
ECP says will withdraw electoral symbol in case of non-compliance

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has given a final one-week deadline to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for holding intra-party elections.

A three-member commission, headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja, held a hearing regarding the intra-party elections of the political parties at the ECP.

The ECP gave the final deadline to the PML-N for holding the party elections and made it clear that if the elections were not held within the stipulated period, the electoral symbol of the party would be withdrawn.

The CEC wondered how the party that could not hold internal elections conduct general elections.

To answer the OP..then yes..they have taken this nation to the bring of destruction..stole killed cheated lied..fractured the economy..thrown innocents into the meat grinder..the country is finished..even Afghanistan will soon be in front..

I wish this khandaan never existed

They have no ideology and were basically created and propped up by the establishment.

They are the worst party in the history of politics.

Unfortunately millions will still line up to vote for them in Punjab (same with Bhutto/Zardaris in Sindh).

And the rest of the difference in the votes is made up by GHQ.

Pakistan ka Allah hi hafiz hai.

Last week SS blamed the economic disaster on governance over 30 years. I know you have to be particularly stupid not to understand the implications of your assertion because bar the 3 years of IK, its all the people in power today are the same crooks that ruled for the 27 of the 30 years, and you could argue have ruled 49 of the last 52 years.

The Election Commission of Pakistan on Thursday directed the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz — a major partner of the ruling coalition — to hold intra-party elections by March 14.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan has emerged victorious as Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi has signed a summary for the dissolution of the provincial assembly as per his desire.

Despite strong pressure and other tactics, the PML-N led federal government along with the ‘powerful circles’ were unable to refrain Elahi from taking a vote of confidence in the Punjab Assembly.

A senior PML-N leader told The Express Tribune that all efforts by his party to convince the PTI lawmakers to switch their loyalties had been in vain.

He also conceded that the Punjab CM taking a vote of confidence was a major surprise for his party.

It has been learnt that Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman had considered the situation after Elahi taking a vote of confidence.

It was decided that the governor would accept the CM’s vote of confidence to avoid any judicial verdict, which might have curtailed his constitutional powers.

Political analysts are astonished that Elahi, who has a long-term association with the ‘powerful circles', stood with Imran’s stance on the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly.

nterior Minister Rana Sanaullah has rejected the reports of differences within the ranks of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), saying that his party was ready to contest elections, ARY News reported.

Talking to journalists at Heathrow Airport in London, the Interior Minister rejected the reports of differences within the ranks of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), saying that such rumours were being spread since 2018.

It is pertinent to mention here that former federal minister Faisal Vawda claimed that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi would resign from National Assembly (NA) after differences emerged with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The Nooraas are now pretending to hate Bajwa. These beghairat have no shame or ideology. Boot polish ko izzat do

These people did nothing to make Pakistan their ancestors were even against the idea of Pakistan so it's no wonder they just look at Pakistan as a platform to loot money and splurge on luxury. This is a political party of 0 ideas or vision and it has been brought to power 4 times. Says a lot about our nation and how immature we are as a republic.

Party of no vision for sure. Same can be said of pti and ppp. All three are terrible

The worst ever Party in Pakistan, no party can beat PPP , PML-N is close second.

Like i have said many times, its better to live in pakistan to actually know something.

Quiad e azam's pic is only necessary in a govt office. Those PTI pics you selectively posted are of PTI members when they used to have a govt office (once upon a time). The other party pics you posted selectively are from their personal capacity offices which maybe their party office that can be seen by the party flags

Zartaj Gul famously kept Imran's pic in her govt office. But i understand you wont post that as it doesnt support your narrative

Every party has a purpose and you cannot say whether a particular party is worst political party or not.

If many of you existed in the 90s and were right wingers, religious, and hated liberalism, you guys would had been supporting and voting PMLN.

These parties exist for a reason and can be bought in to the center by the establishment whenever they require.

PMLN was created because of Zia and Hameed Gul. Both these Generals got involved in civilian politics and wanted to finish the Bhutto influence by creating an enemy against them. And who was the best group of enemy that could be made against a guy who believed in socialist ideas. Offcourse businessman.

The ideology of PMLN was to eliminate the influence of PPP around Pakistan initially, but over the years they have moved past that.

PMLN is made up of businessman, landlords and patwaris of Punjab. These guys are needed when Pakistan needs economic development inside the country. They make roads and are very good at developing infrastructure and protecting business interest. Businessman in Pakistan will always vote for them as Pakistani businessman arn't those sitting in a stock exchange, but Pakistani businessman are those factory owners that invest Carores in Textile, bricks, land, electronics, farming etc.

Which is why we see the likes of Ishaq Dar peg the dollar rate as the business community prefers pegging as it provides them stability. Shipping orders take 3 months to process in Pakistan and payment is made on the rate that is set on the day of receiving.

PMLN is a party required when you need economic stability to exist in the country.

PPP on the other hand is completely different. Their party is good for foreign relations, every member of the party is well spoken and comes across as educated. They know how to develop relevant foreign policies and play a better role than all other parties in promoting Pakistan's interest internationally.

PPP is also good at policy making and when we saw in during PPPs time Pakistan enter into hyper inflation, it was PPP that bought in policies to bring back Pakistan's economy to stability

Plus, PPP knows how to run the parliament and senate. PMLN and PTI both fail to run parliament and senate, infact, i doubt Imran knew simple concepts of having an actual majority to get a bill passed when he was making promises. People talk about PPP is finish dont realize that PPP is the one that runs the show in nationla assembly and senate. They know relevant laws, legislations and about bills. That's where you run the country from, and till you know how to get in the Parliament of Pakistan you are never finish

Which is why whenever a proceeding is done in the Parliament, PPP is always the leading such proceedings. The reason why Zardari and PPP are in the establishment and not PMLN is because of this.

PTI on the other hand is very inexperience. Imran tries to take all decisions and than also allows himself to be dictated by the army. This party failed completely at foreign affairs. The meeting with Putin was a big joke, and than the way Imran tried sabotaging the whole foreign affairs during the letter gate. The whole foreign affairs bureaucracy was baffled by him because he was leaking important govt level information to the public and caused hysteria which destroyed our foreign relations and also destroyed his political standing in internationla community.

The economic policy of pegging petrol prices was a complete fail. The health card scheme, which I said from day 1 on this forum that Pakistan does not have money to fund such a stupid program, ended up failing. A whole health card program was being run on loans lol.

Another failiure of their foreign policy was negotiating with the Taliban which allowed TTP enter back to Pakistan.

So for the conclusion of this topic, PTI wasn't really a bad party initially. Their fight against corruption was a good one and they really grinded PMLN. But when PTI decided to take the corrupt officials of other parties and placed them in their own party, and than asked for ISI and Army to help rig them seats or allowed the army and isi to influence Parliament proceedings where the ISI was ringing up MNAs to show up at the NA, that showed PTI was no different and way worse.

PTI lost its credibility further when Imran and his speakers tried to sabotage the country by not letting the VONC proceed, and even leaked sensitive information that cause issues in the diplomatic circles for Pakistan.

Thus, if you want to give the worst political party title, than PTI has comfortably taken that title during its last year of governance. PMLN is no way near because PMLN at least has its niche which is to be relevant when economic development is required. Even PMLN wasn't soo dumb to create a health card scheme on the basis of loan money from IMF

It took you 5 months and all you could do was launch personal attacks.

Not sure what makes a mafia supporter like you think that anyone cares about your comments on whether I live in Pak or not?

As usual you have lied. The picture was posted by a person living in Pakistan as well and it based on the open fact that pmln and ppp are open traitors working on sabotaging Pakistan.

No amount of lies about government and private offices will change this reality. In fact this joke by you is not even worthy of further debate. PTI works for Pakistan unlike the child killing mafia fascists and traitors you support. You will as usual run away just like you did after posting lies in other politicis, Sheikh Rasheed and misbah threads once you are schooled.

where is the personal attack?

you have no replied to the post. In Pakistani govt offices, quaid e azams pic is always there.

The place where we see pics of other people, those are the personal capacity offices, like party office.

A party office is not a govt office.

and zartaj gul had imrans pic in her govt office.

Once again

No need to talk about who does or does not live in Pakistan.

If you have a point make it and move on

Your post was edited to remove the personal comment. I will repeat again as you wrote I did not reply, you are lying.

Mafia traitors party members do not use Quaid photos just as they rig elections and their own members are in the police uniform dancing to ppp songs after rigging them. Your deflection about office capacity will not change a thing.

Good to see that Zartaj is making you whine. Mods deleted your post about her, you again posted the same sentence :))

You are the biggest joke on here. The only lie is by you who is defending open worship of dynastic families by the chors you support who even they disrespect Quaid.

You sure did, thats why your post were deleted. At least own up to your cheap tactics just like your leaders do.
