Is the reunification of India & Pakistan possible in the near future?

TNT stated: muslims cannot live with hindus.

1971 happened: muslims cannot live with muslims.

Now: muslims reject islamic army leader restating muslims cannot live with hindus.

Future: ?

That's okay with me as long as it is Muslim-majority and there is no Hindutva. :inti

This is exactly the reason why India and Pakistan cannot peacefully unify. "As long as it is muslim majority" will always be the criteria. Another example how muslims cannot co exists with others. Though I know this is a troll thread but another example how crazy Islamists are.

Seeing India’s sudden return to stardom in global politics, one can’t help but wonder that if divided India alone is so powerful and highly regarded in international conferences, what would have been the might of the United India if Pakistan, Bangladesh were still part of it.

Dear PPers,
Aadab! Namastey! Sat Sri Akal! Kem chho!
This thread is a quiet room in a noisy world. A place for warmth, memory, and possibility. Not debate. Not blame. Just the parts of our shared story that still breathe kindness.

India and Pakistan were not born strangers. We grew from the same soil, drank from the same rivers, laughed in the same courtyards. The Indus does not ask for passports. Punjab’s fields do not change colour at Wagah. A ghazal written in Lahore still finds its echo in Lucknow. A raga composed in Gwalior still stirs something deep in Karachi.

Our languages overlap like old friends finishing each other’s sentences. Urdu and Hindi share a spine. Punjabi, Sindhi, Bengali once flowed freely across today’s borders. Our kitchens are cousins. Our festivals mirror each other. Eid, Diwali, Basant, weddings that last three days and involve too much food and too many emotions. These are not coincidences. They are inheritance.

Cricket alone could fill volumes. Not rivalry as hatred, but rivalry as theatre. Shared heartbreaks, shared heroes, shared childhood memories glued to radio commentary and TV screens. When one side plays beautifully, the other secretly knows it too.

There is also the harder shared history. Pain, displacement, loss. But even that pain is common. The grief of Partition belonged to both. Remembering that truth humanizes everyone. It reminds us that suffering did not wear a single flag.

Imagine what collaboration could look like if fear stepped aside. Trade that benefits farmers and small businesses. Cultural exchanges where artists, poets, filmmakers meet without suspicion. Students learning together. Scientists collaborating. Journalists telling stories of people, not just conflicts. Tourism that lets people see how familiar the “other side” feels.

Communication is not surrender. Friendship is not weakness. Peace is not naïveté. It is strength, confidence, and maturity.

If you’re posting here, post with empathy. Post with memory. Post with hope.

The hatred runs deep on both sides. Our leaders as well as our people have not left much of a window of peace and cooperation for the near future. As long as we have the mistablishment of Pakistan and BJP control of India, there will be no peace. Even if by chance they are no longer in control, it will take decades of work to undo the damage caused by them so bring peace to the region. The way things are going, I dont see any end sight to the power dynamics on either side in the near future.

So @Bhaijaan - keep yourself busy using chat GPT and other AI tools to satisfy your urges and fantasies for now

You’ve got a good heart bhaijaan.

How do you propose this friendship could emerge ?

By Bollywood continuing to churn out the wonderful peace promoting films they have been producing over the last 10-15 years now.

I remember a time growing up in the 80s when Pakistanis used to love watching Indian films. Their songs played at our weddings, etc. We typically dont watch TV that much in our household anymore, but this past weekend, my wife asked me to find us a nice indian movie to watch. I had zero luck finding anything that either did not bash Muslims or Pakistan. Almost zero. They are mostly about war, muslim bad guys, Pakistani villains, etc.

Aman aur dosti barhao movement, my ***! lol

Thanks brother.
I think people will be surprised one day how quickly we can move in the direction of peace. All we need is a series of positive triggers and some good luck.

I think when PM Modi came to power and invited Nawaz Shareef, and later landed in Lahore to attend his family function, that was one of those moments when we had a couple of positive triggers.

Never say never.
People want peace and progress

Nawaz Shareef has business interests in Pakistan and Modi's India has business interests in Nawaz Shareef and his clan running the show in Pakistan because that family is largely responsible for driving Pakistan into the ground.

One jaahil chor and murderer getting along with another jaahil despot, why is that so surprising? Rest assured, those were not positive triggers by any stretch of imagination.

We’re talking in the context of bringing both nations together. Even if the most corrupt people in the planet make it happen, I would give them everything for it for this is much bigger than anything.

You must realize how dangerous the environment of animosity is. Yesterday it was drones and small missiles, another day it would be bigger missiles and could get a lot worse. Many would die. The financial cost would be devastating. What’s that in comparison to a couple of families getting crazy rich through corruption?

To start a new era needs a new leader esp in India .

If tomorrow you were made PM of Bharat , what would be your peace plan ? List 5 points you think could set things in motion

Brother, I have said it here in past and I would repeat, I would simply propose to invest USD 500 billion hard cash in Pakistan.

You have to give something to earn trust.

I will pledge to Pakistan, that I will make sure that Pakistan grows together with India and we will make sure we take you along in this growth journey.

I might have oversimplified it and maybe this is not backed by concrete maths but that’s the kind of big hearted thinking that can take us ahead.

We saw how you brought both nations together during Operation Sindoor. Shall I bump those threads? :yk :inti

It is rather simple: peace build on hollow foundations can never last long, hence the end result of that brief period between Shareef and Modi.

Try again and again until we finally get major breakthroughs.

Don’t give up on peace.

At the moment, you guys just dont want to get along with any of your neighbors. So perhaps first try and spread that bhashan internally within your people.

We live in the most fiercely diverse region in the world by far and there’s a giant hostile nation in the neighbourhood with 5 times more money than us who can for the time being outspend us in buying leverage in the subcontinent.

That being said, trust building goes a long way like has been demonstrated in the case of Sri Lanka, Maldives, Afghanistan all of whom have quietly aligned with India.

Bangladesh’s internal political shakeup has made things messy with India but very soon you will see a sudden change in this relationship and I can bet on that. Maybe as early as the formation of the next real government in Bangladesh. You have take into account what you have currently in Bangladesh is a CIA Deepstate backed unelected interim government. The moment either of the two major political parties come to power, India-will activate serious back door diplomacy to allow Bangladesh an off ramp.

what exactly is quietly aligned? you dont get along well with china. you dont get along with pakistan. you were the key player in breaking apart a neighboring country. you have been illegally occupying its land (kashmir) since 47 and refuse to hold a plesbicite there. and yet you preach peace and want peace.

please take a deep inward look. Any country worth its salt in the region is your enemy, only those who dont hold any importance in grand scheme of things and the small fish are the ones who extend you the hand because nobody else seems to bother with them. Thats not a win. Even at the international stage nobody came to your rescue or support when you decided to start a conflict with pakistan. You were just fending for yourself all alone.

There is a lot that is wrong with the way you guys conduct yourself in the region and for some odd reason, you guys feel like behave like Buddha.

Nice dream. Not as long as Islam is the religion of Pakistan.
Islam is here to stay. You can have bones to pick with it, i dont think it has any bearing on that outcome. It can be the religion of Pakistan and it will be one of th religions of India, as well as many other nations in and around india. Your lot's vision of ghar waapsi nonsense will be just a pipe dream. sooner or later you will have to deal with that and make peace with your neighbors regardless of religion.
