The final game of the league stage in the 2025 Pakistan Super League sees Islamabad United take on the Karachi Kings at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Both teams have already qualified for the playoffs, and this clash is all about determining the finishing positions on the table. A win for the Kings will secure them a spot in the Qualifier, giving them two shots at reaching the final. It was the David Warner show in their playoff-sealing win over Peshawar Zalmi, with the skipper leading from the front and powering Karachi to a commanding 237. Zalmi gave it a fight but eventually fell short, managing 214. James Vince has been a consistent performer for the Kings throughout the league stage, and with Warner finding form at the right time, things are looking promising for them heading into the business end. With the ball, Hasan Ali and Abbas Afridi have been the chief destroyers, but the Kings will be hoping for greater support from Mir Hamza, Aamer Jamal, and Mohammad Nabi as the stakes rise. On the other hand, a win for Islamabad United will see them draw level on points with Karachi. However, to secure a top-two finish and a place in the Qualifier, they will need a big enough margin of victory to leapfrog the Kings on net run rate. United come into this fixture on a four-game losing streak and will be desperate to head into the playoffs with some momentum. Sahibzada Farhan has been their standout with the bat, but support has been lacking. The likes of Azam Khan, Salman Agha, and Mohammad Nawaz will need to rise to the occasion. With the ball, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, and Naseem Shah have struggled to hit their stride and will need to step up if United are to mount a serious challenge in the playoffs. Islamabad have won the last five meetings between these two sides. Can Karachi finally put an end to that streak? We shall find out.

Squads

Islamabad United: Shadab Khan, Sahibzada Farhan, K. Mayers, M. Shehzad, M. Nawaz, Azam Khan, Haider Ali, J. Holder, Imad Wasim, Ben Dwarshuis, Naseem Shah, Salman Ali Agha

Karachi Kings: David Warner (c), Ben McDermott, James Vince, Saad Baig, Irfan Niazi, Khushahil Shah, Mohammad Nabi, Hasan Ali, Abbaas Afridi, Mir Hamza, Amir Jamal.

Great batting by both openers

None of this “you hit and I’ll watch” nonsense!

LQ did this last night too and knocked out PZ

“we were 10 short”

Well you were always leaving out plenty in the powerplay were you not? 🤡

Carnage. But this IU side is top heavy. 2 wickets can lead to a lot more.

15 from last two overs , Karachi have done better that the power play. They will look at batsmen play rash shots here

Rvd, shadab, agha all good
Shadab, Agha Haider can all be contained. The real danger comes from the top 3. But this wicket is extremely flat. Don’t think KK can even dismiss these two at the moment.

Wow - that was some shot. Farhan is in the form of his life. It would be Pakistan’s loss if it isn’t utilized.

Multan needed an explosive opener

They didn’t get anyone

Hales just sitting at home

22 ball 50

Warner has no answers at the moment. Try Nabi perhaps. Pacers are being brutalized here.

Urooj and Ramiz

The Babar and Rizwan of Pakistan commentary

I dont think kk can chase this, and i doubt any team can beat islu on pindi pitch. Maybe fin allen and rossouw. There only chance would be on australian soil lahore pitch

Lol Islamabad have been beaten 4 times consecutively. Even on this ground and pitch.

Plus the finals are in Lahore.

Ramiz trying to pull Urooj’s leg because Karachi getting smashed. “Your sad”

I would reply by saying “I know you are sad because Babar and Rizwan are kicked out of the tournament”

Warner doesn't fully trust him. He believes in the matchups too much. "Off spinner cannot bowl to right handers".
I really detest this matchups trend. It often plays into the hands of the opposing team because of using weaker players just because of a matchup instead of using the best player.

Ramiz: I'd be booing of they go at 8-9 an over now, should be only sixes from here

says the guy who cheerleads riz-bar...

wonder why warner decided to bowl first after kk did such a great job setting in their last game

also i think it's a waste for Seifert and Saad Baig to to playing in the same game

Fawad Ali is probably a better emerging player to go for -- and i'd have changed Jamal with Omair Bin Yousuf or Arafat Minhas

IU need to try and reach 230 from here

yeah, they would like that after losing the last 4 games on the trot. but looks like the break has done them some good. they bat deep so shoud be min 240

Saad baig is playing because he's a parchi. Was one of the worst players in our last u19 batch.

Jamal: economy after 7 games is 11.06, the highest among bowlers who have bowled more than 15 overs this PSL

Matchups make sense. But when you have a great of the game. A player with so much experience. The match up doesn't matter.

Nabi knows how to get a right hander out. He's not a part timer or a youngster.

also, when the batting team is going at 13 an over+ you honestly have nothing to lose by bringing Nabi on

I guarantee you, he would have bowled more economically than Jamal

such bad camera work at times loll

so much for Irfan "gun fielder" niazi
