"It's frustrating. The 20 minute break in between innings was an interesting one" : Aaron Finch

Australia captain unhappy with how a 20 mins break in a rain shortened game pretty much robbed his side of victory in the 1st T20I vs Pakistan

"It's frustrating. The 20 minute break in between innings was an interesting one. When you lose a few overs and then you still have a 20 minute break I thought that was really interesting. It probably played out of our hands at that moment. But you can't do too much about the weather,”

“If you're cutting overs off the game and you still have a 20 minute break it doesn't make much sense to me. But it's part of the rules and you can't do much about it.”

“We played really well. To restrict them to 107 off 15 overs was a great effort and then to be on track to get them was nice. When you're old and fat you get a bit of luck sometimes. It was nice to get a few out of the middle. Like I said, a bit unfortunate the rain played such a part"

Yeah the innings break was ridiculous coming only 2 overs after such a long break. Worked perfectly into our hands though

Should have been straight swap over, stupidity at its best to have 20 min break.

I thought the 2nd inning would start after a 5minute break due to the rain delay. I was surprised when it took 20 minutes. Isn't it usually 10-15 minutes under normal circumstances? Luck favored Pakistan today.

It's meant to be 20 minutes. The match referee is allowed to shorten it to 10 minutes if there's been a lengthy delay (as there was) though but for some reason didn't.

Those are the rules - fair to all.

That's the point though, they're not the rules. The match referee is allowed to reduce the interval to 10 minutes if there's an extended delay (as there was today). For some strange reason he decided not to today.

What’s surprising is Australia fielded a fully strength side. Lol at those who say most teams don’t play their main sides in T20i

Unlucky Australia.

Would have been gutted if the situations were swapped.

Seem they are taking it seriously and want to win the world cup next year

It makes logical sense, considering this will be their best chance yet in home conditions.

They have the skillet to win also.

These rules need serious overhaul. Remember the 2016 WT20 India v Pakistan @ Eden Gardens. The were struggling to get the game started coz of rain. When it stopped raining, match was reduced to 18 overs but organisers & officials went ahead with the lengthy national anthems show featuring Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan & Amitabh Bachchan and a mini-speech by Imran Khan.

It is the World T20 season. Teams take it seriously in the build to the World T20, and that is why every team is playing a lot of T20s these days.

However, between the World T20 2016 and the 2019 World Cup, T20 international cricket was dead. It had no purpose and that is when Pakistan made hay.
