Jason Holder has surpassed Stokes and Shakib as the greatest A/R in the world followed by Moeen Ali

Stokes and Holder are untouchable right now as the best all-rounders in world cricket. Both are monsters in terms of impact.

Very impressed by how far Holder has come. Stokes has always been blockbuster, but Holder started off really ordinary.

ONe thing baffels me always, stokes is rated so highly yet he isn't even the top 3 listed allrounder. How the heck are the ICC guys rating these guys? Stokes, along Shakib and recently Holder are probably the top 3 allrounders going around these days. Yet we see names like Rashid Khan and other questionable names in the top allrounder slots along formats.

Shakib is no. 1/2 ODI, test and T20I all-rounder for the past 5 years and was top 2 all-rounder In ODI and test for last 10 years and apparently Holder has surpassed him. Okay

One thing that everyone have against Shakib is that he somehow finds a way to dodge away tours.

So OP means Jason Holder has surpassed Moeen, Stokes and Shakib as the greatest A/R in the world?

Why does Moeen need to be slipped in as second best all rounder in the thread title itself? That can have a separate thread.

He skipped a test series against SA and he deservedly got some slack.

But otherwise he has good performance across all formats.

Must have been a typo era. He shouldn’t be the front line spinner in Asia and outside of Asia.

My argument is weak, look at his bowling average in Australia, India, and New Zealand. If you want that bowler as your front line spinner you are even more clueless than I thought.

Like I said, how many modern-day spinners have been successful in Australia and New Zealand? Also, your typos are annoying. Type more carefully.

He is just an okay player who is in the limelight for his persona and success story as a minority rather than his cricket.

No one even cares about his ethnicity anymore. We live in a multi-cultural society and a British Pakistani playing for England isn't even today's news.

You seem to bring up his background more than anyone else here. Focusing very little on his cricket. He averages 30 with the bat and 36 with the ball in test cricket. Whilst that's not Imran Khan'esque, it's certainly better than ok.

I thought you like all conditions players? Ashwin is trash in your opnion for being poor outside of Asia but Moen can be the best all rounder in the world for being poor in those countries LOL.

In IPL eliminator

3/25 in 4 overs - superb and could well be the difference between SRH and RCB

International Cricket is what counts and Stokes is currently the best by a big margin.
Shakib is going to return. Let's see how he does after his comeback although his place among the greats of Bangladesh cricket is already secured.
Stokes and Shakib have different roles, but Stokes has upped his game to a new level since 2019.

He has definitely improved in LO. Very good al rounder. If it wasn't for Mitch Marsh getting injured he would not have been playing in the IPL.

What a performance for SRH. He will be a millionaire in the next auction.

RCB should pick him and handover the captaincy.

SRH paid just $100k for Holder compared to KKR paying $2.1 million for Cummins (21 times more)

What a phenomenal player. And no Moeen is bad. Jadeja is far better than Moeen.

If he had a braced front leg and thereby a yard quicker he could’ve potentially gone down as one of the greats. Still a very good cricketer.

Moeen is an extremely mediocre cricketer and a choker of highest order. Gets out on a free hit in a crunch match lol.

Kohli knew that but was forced to play him because of no other option. Hard to understand how come Moeen bhai has so many fans.

West Indies coach Phil Simmons has made it clear that Test captain Jason Holder is always in consideration for the regional T20 team, particularly on the back of several recent eye-catching performances in the CPL and IPL.

Holder last played for the Windies in the shortest format of the game in India last year. Recently, however, since the resumption of cricket following an enforced break due to the coronavirus pandemic, he has put in a few notable T20 performances. In the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Holder was the Barbados Tridents' third-highest scorer with 192 runs in 10 matches and had a high score of 69. He also made an impact with the ball after claiming 10 wickets, the second-most on the team.

Despite not being initially drafted to the Indian Premier League (IPL), Holder was called up to replace Mitchell Marsh by Sunrisers Hyderabad where he has made a big impact. The player has, however, not been included in the T20 squad to face New Zealand next month, which Butcher insists is the right call.

Simmons pointed to scheduling being as much a factor as anything else.

“This is an odd tour. The T20 series here finishes a day, two days before the Test match. Being captain of the Test team, the decision was taken by us as selection panel, that Jason would not be considered for that that part of the tour,” Simmons told members of the media via a Zoom interview on Friday.

Seeing that he is coming from IPL now, he will have one chance to play in the four-day game before the Test match, so that decision was taken by the panel,” he added.

Jason is always in consideration for the T20. He has had two good years at CPL and now he has had a good tournament at IPL.”
