Junaid Khan named Pakistan U19 bowling coach

Former left-arm pacer Junaid Khan has been named Pakistan U19 bowling coach, following the unavailability of Rehan Riaz, who has opted out of the ICC U19 World Cup due to a family emergency.

Junaid, who previously served as the head coach of Islamabad Region, led the team to victory in the Hanif Mohammad Trophy 2023-24. The 34-year-old cricketer has represented Pakistan in 107 international matches, taking 189 wickets.

Are you happy with his appointment as the bowling coach of the Pakistan U19 team?

Junaid is only 34 years old. I thought he was still playing cricket.

Looks like he took up coaching early.

All the best to him.

Who is left from the 2010 era?
PCB please give some role to Ahmed Shahzad as well.

Junaid has mentioned the reason why Shaheen is down in speed. He's mentioned biomechanics and his pre injury biomechanics is totally different.

He also mentioned how he told khurram shahzad in PSL that his action is prone to injury. He has good knowledge regarding bowling actions etc.

Also says he asked PCB if he's in their plans and when they said no he went into coaching. Anyone know his qualifications?

Junaid talks a lot of sense and i am very loyal towards his country i think he rejected the same kind of offer that Sami Aslam got from usa cuz he wanted to only represent Pakistan and wear the jersey with the star on it

He is a good choice in my opinion. He should've played a lot more international matches with the kind of talent he had.
Still remember his destructive bowling in India against India in 2013 Tour. Particularly the way he made Virat Kohli his bunny

A bit more PR and he will end up as PK coach like UG. And just like UG and many before him, he will say a few common sense things like bowl to hit the top off and he too will get paid a lot of money
They keep saying biomechanics but then say there's no time to fix things now but will fix in future camps. What a load of nonsense

So he will make our darters into spinners? But how? Finger strength and rotation training? Is it exist?

Junaid Khan, as the U19 bowling coach, is putting in efforts to bring out the best in our U19 boys for the ICC U19 World Cup 2024.

Junaid Khan seems like a fantastic bowling coach who loves sharing his on-field experiences and bowling tricks. His passion for coaching is evident through his dedication.

How he managed to teach Arafat to spin the ball? Clearly Arafat was only darting in Asia cup no even in less spinning conditions he is getting good rev and bounce as well , suddenly a transform bowler

Haven’t seen Arafat batting lately but surely he is as good as Nawaz right ? His bowling is already better than him

Juniad Khan is bowling coach and Iftikhar who is 10 years older than him is still playing cricket for Pakistan.:ashwin

Junaid khan was hard done by

The think tank backed the showboater hasan ali who is still umbillically attached to the team , and then bought the spot fixer back who kept throwing his toys out of the pram.

Whilst junaid was ditched and just kept his head down whilst in the team and whilst out of it.
still remember him bowling kohli and that beautiful ball to sangakara.

He's bowled many memorable spells and beauties. I used to passionately watch him bowl. Can't forget some spells of his to a decent Windies batting side in WI, vs SA test batting lineup, that last over vs Miller defending 8 runs, owning Sri Lanka multiple times in UAE, and the list goes on and on. He had decent pace and able to regularly bowl over 140 on good speed days. He had a knack of taking wickets and the batsmen were wary of his skills. Had a mean yorker too. That injury in 2014 messed him up and it was very unfortunate as he would have been a menace in the World Cup the following year. He was a true hard worker and it's great to see someone like him coaching the youngins
