All three in contention for the final 15 - but who will get through?

Who deserves to be in the final 15?

At this point, Hasnain seems to be bowling with fire but has less experience - Amir also bowling well but Junaid struggling.

The situation can change in the upcoming games but how do you see this panning out?

For me, even through he's been struggling to take wickets, Amir always gets in above Junaid.
His superior batting can help us get over the line if we have 25-30 runs left with another batter at the other end. With Junaid it's game over.

Yeh that SL game comes to mind, so even if there is not that much in the bowling.
I would take Amir

Junaid Khan is finished. Bowled 5/6 no-balls today. Looked aweful. Terribly inconsistent.

Junaid has to go.

Called it from the beginning.

The amount of no balls today and going for 8 an over against a club side is criminal.

I will play the devil's advocate and say that the only reason Junaid Khan is in the final squad and Shinwari is not is to be eventually replaced by Amir.

Team management knew that Junaid would perform worse than Amir and there would be no problems replacing him with Amir. With Shinwari, there would have been no guarantees. This has been done just to ignite a fire in Amir's belly.

Amir was always in the team management's plans. Shinwari has actually lost out to Hasnain.

That is cruel :))

But it works.

Tbh this thought did come in my mind too.

One poor performance and the knives are out against Junaid. Have we forgotten how poor Muhammad Amir is with his bowling average striking a century. Come back to me when Junaid does that.

Hasnain was blooded in too early. No place for him in the international team.

Well so far it's a case of:

M Amir / M Hasnain

Then

Junaid Khan

I'll tell you something funny - Bilal7 had Junaid over Shaheen in his WC XI 4-6 months ago :))

Hasnain isn't going anywhere btw. He's been picked for the firecracker/wild card role and his position is set in the final 15. Pakistan aren't going to need him to play every game, but they might need to throw him in somewhere if the conventional quicks aren't cutting it.

Haris Rauf should have been there over Hasnain.

Rauf actually moved the ball both ways with pace in the Pakistan Cup.

Junaid has been out of the team for a while, it always takes a bowler a few games to get back into rhythm. Also it was one bad over that made it look a lot worse. I would still put Junaid above Husnain and Amir for now. Ideally Junaid and Amir find form and are selected for the WC

Junaid has a history of bowling no balls at crucial stages of the match.

He's been out of the team because he's been injured.

Junaid is past his best, if getting smashed against a club side doesn't show that then I don't know what will.

I was surprised to see Junaid bowling so many no balls today. Looks like his run up isn't settled yet.

Ideally after the WC we should kick Junaid and maybe Amir if he doesn’t perform in ODIs and invest in youngsters like Shaheen, Hasnain, Musa and Rauf with the “leader” of our pace-battery Hasan Ali.

Does anyone know at what speed Amir and Junnaid Were bowling today. I would be interested to find out if Amir was bowling in early 130s or was he bowling around 140's.

Everyone is happy that we won today. However, no one is mentioning the fact that a club level team hit us with 270 odd runs. It seems like our bowlers are unable to take wickets for some odd reason. Are we relying on Shadab and Hassan to take most of the wickets all the time. I think that would be a little unfair.

Regardless, I would like to know at what speen Amir was bowling today and if you guys are really satisfied with this win.

Yasir let out a lot of runs, Junaid let out even more. There was no speedometer so we don't know the speeds.

Yeah poor guy, even after playing international cricket for as long as he has he still has run up issues.

Yasir Shah and Junaid Khan gave a bulk of the runs.

On another day with proper replacements they wouldn't have crossed 250.

These two gave 140 in 20 overs.

Waiting for him to play against Eng. butler and stokes will eat him alive. If he bowls 10 overs he might make a record of giving 150 runs

Another 3 overs under his belt for Hasnain on this tour.

1 for 21 against Leicestershire.

I think Junaid will be dropped, unless he puts in a great performance Against England.

The English series will decide who gets in. Most likely Junaid, Amir and Hasnain will get 3-4 matches each to stake their claim for the world cup.

I was at the Northampton match and Junaid did get taken apart in his last spell but it was his first match of the tour. I think once he finds his rythym he will be useful.

In terms of Hasnain, we already have essentially a rookie bowler already in Afridi, so having them both in the 15 leaves us very light in terms of experience and performing in big tournaements which both Junaid and Amir have both done.

Its going to be interesting.

Amir is not fighting for a spot with hasnain. Both are completely different, hasnain will remain in the World Cup squad. It will be Junaid who Amir will replace.

The team management have been very clever. They knew Junaid would be exposed vs England. So as not to make Junaid feel hard done by, they selected him in the initial squad. When Amir, performs better than Junaid he will on merit be selected.

How can there be a debate on Hasnain? He is the X-Factor.

Amir vs Junaid is 6 of one and half a dozen of another. Both are the same - one can fire on one day, the other one on another day.

I suspect Amir will definitely be in the World Cup squad - too many backers.

Hasnain will be smashed.

If you wanted some X-Factor then should have selected Haris Rauf

Wonder how Faheem gets his permanent spot?

It should be between all 4 of them(Amir, Junaid, Hasnain and Faheem) for final 3 spots and I personally would have left Faheem out of the World Cup Squad and select the other three.

Maybe, Shadab's injury has solidified his all-rounder tag even more now and he is considered unremovable from the lineup.

Mohammad Hasnain : Satisfactory but no wickets to show

no wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs against England in the T20I

Get rid of Faheem, he is the most useless of them all. Getting some extra point for being a ( fake ) allrounder.

Let's toss Faheem out absolutley no point in keeping him Ideally my bowling line-up would be

Imad
Shadab
Amir
Shaheen
Junaid/Hasnain

Unless Hasnain can prove that he can take wickets at the highest level, he does not add any value in the current scenario. He will develop and bowl better in the future but he is too raw at the moment. Pakistan bowlers have struggled to take wickets in ODIs over the last year or so and having another bowler who doesn't pick wickets is not going to help. We need to see at the end of the 5 match series provided he plays all 5.

Hasnain is an automatic selection.

I think Pakistani bowlers are being coached wrong - they are being asked to bowl slightly short of length, which works for the likes of Faheem in UAE/Pakistan - but not in England. These players know how to play cross batted shots/hooks/pulls.

Hasnain seems to be just about there but one gets the feeling that he is still raw - who will help him get better?

Amir's chances are disappearing slowly - just 3 more games left to make a mark (provided it doesnt rain and he recovers)

Faheem is laughing his back-side on this mega clash.

Playing Faheem over Junaid or Aamir is unbelievably shady.

They're not even playing junaid. If junaid was playing and was smacked around, Amir would have gotten a way into the team

Amir apparently has a viral infection. Probably would've played otherwise.

Not including Aamir for World Cup would be a travesty. I am still so surprised how faheem gets his permanent place. He only performed in PSL. If Aamir was sick you can play Hasnain or Junaid. Seriously, what on earth again is faheem doing. He’s not gonna make a difference in both batting and bowling. Why the hell yasir is being played. He doesn’t even deserve to be in Pakistan D squad for ODIs.

At this rate we won't have more than one or two pace bowlers in form going into the World Cup.

I think apart from Junaid, Aamir and Hasnain, Faheem should be in contention for flying home too.

Match performance today.
Bowling 69-0,
Batting 3(4)

And that while being our premium all rounder. (better than Pandya and Stokes as per some). At this rate, all the other pacers are an upgrade over him in both batting and bowling.

Ideally we would play all three in the remaining matches.

To make clear who is going to the WC.

Faheem doesn’t have confidence or self belief. He is touted as the top all rounder in the country
Amir has lost his swing and wicket taking ability
Junaid is not consistent enough but he has generally been a good new and death over bowler
Husnain is very raw as is shaheen they seem to just throw the ball in without giving too much thought to field placement and where the batsman is eyeing to hit. Only room for one of them.

Hasan Ali is simply mediocre now,
Yasir and shadab are average spin options.

The whole bowling unit lacks penetration I feel for us right now.

Junaid Khan going for 9 runs per over at the moment. Looks like his hopes of making WC squad are fading away.
