What are your thoughts on this sacking?

I didn't agree with his methods but he was decent just didn't bring in the results for them.

Thats all that matters - results.

That tonking from Barca was described as the 'worst in their history'

No coming back from that

They are only 3 points of the team in 1st so the Bundesliga is something they can still win BUT i think the Barca defeat sealed his fate really

Always risky to sack a manager so late. It can have a positive affect on Bayern and win teh title, or it could be disasterous and they coudl even lose their CL spot if not careful.

Bayern Munich have appointed Van Gaal as manager

Van Gaal leaves current club AZ after they have won the Dutch Championship

Thats not fair, Van Gaal was ready to leave at the end of last season after a poor season for AZ but the players and staff convinced him to stay. And look what has happened this year, AZ have been near unstoppable. 28 game unbeaten run. Van Gaal put life into the players, he is adored at the club. An he only left now because his aspiration to win the title with a club out of the top 3 had been achieved. No one holds a grudge, quite the opposite. Its not a very fair thing you have said.

Amjid Javed has a point of sorts but I think he has a club in mind rather than the actual intention of van Gaal, which was to go to a national team. His ambition was to go to a World Cup / European Championship after he failed to guide Oranje there in 2002. As this would open up a sizeable list of possibilities, van Gaal named 5 nations to the club to make the terms of the contract easier. Off the top of my head, they were England, Argentina, Spain, Germany and Oranje.

However, Louis had long made no secret of the fact that Bayern were a dream club for him and whilst most Dutchmen and indeed Flemish people look to the UK for their culture, Louis looked to Germany as he is no fan of English football. Mind you, the UK press are no fan of him either! Nor were ITV given some of their disparaging remarks made about him during their UEFA Cup coverage.

Former Germany and United States boss Jurgen Klinsmann has been appointed as Hertha Berlin manager until the end of the season after the Bundesliga side sacked Ante Covic.

The former Tottenham, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich striker, 55, was named on Hertha's supervisory board in November.

Covic, 44, was only appointed in July and leaves with Hertha in 15th.

"The way we've been playing recently, and the results, have led to this decision," he said.

Covic, who was previously Hertha's reserves coach, added: "Since Hertha is not just an employer to me, such a decision hurts, of course. But I have always said that this club is more important than individuals. I love not only this profession, but I love this club with all my heart."

Sporting director Michael Preetz said: "It was an extremely difficult decision for us, because Ante has been part of Hertha for more than 20 years.

"We regret that it has come to this, but ultimately, in terms of development and recent results, we felt there was a need for action."

Former Germany international Klinsmann's first game in charge will be at home to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
