Justice Asif Saeed Khosa appointed chief justice of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan Arif Alvi on Wednesday gave approval for the appointment of Justice Asif Saeed Khosa as the chief justice of Pakistan, the Ministry of Law said in a statement.

The ministry said that Justice Khosa, who is the senior most judge of the Supreme Court, will take charge as the chief justice on January 18.

He assumed office of a Supreme Court judge in December 2016. Prior to that, Justice Khosa served as a judge of Lahore High Court.

The incumbent Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar will retire from his post on January 17.

Don’t know if it is a sigh of relief. I believe Justice Khosa was one of the 2 judges that deemed Nawaz Sharif as dishonest after the initial hearing. He also famously referred to The Godfather book in his verdict when referring to the N.S. family.

I am expecting him to deliver justice very swiftly. Surely deeming Nawaz as dishonest is a good thing in the sense that he won't be fooled.

1. Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh need to leave the bench about to take up Arshad Malik leaked videos case

Reason : Both were part of Panama bench. Neutrality needed. They cannot be neutral even if they want to be.



2. If Asif Saeed Khosa and Azmat Saeed do not get off this bench than PML N should object the composition of bench. Umar Atta Bandial is fine and should be acceptable because he was not part of Panama bench.



3.After recomposition of Bench the Supreme Court should send this matter to lower courts because Judge Arshad Malik works under the administration of Islamabad High Court.




In case Asif Saeed Khosa does not reconstitute the bench or later doesn’t send the matter to lower court than irrespective of consequences PML N needs to boycott this case.




If Asif Saeed Khosa tries to plays in the hand of Real Lords of this Country that The State must get ready for International further humiliation with further release of remaining 4-5 videos. It would be bad for CJ aswell as Pakistan so better not to get nasty and let Justice seen to be done





CJ sahib if your personal videos are not in hands of Deep State than it’s ideal time to rewrite history. Nation will forgive you and fellow Judges for previous judgements provided you let dispensation of Justice. I hope you are not honey trapped.
